10+ years ago when I was in high school (yeah I'm old) we learned how to ski bumps, and do 3's (helicopters we called them) on shitty, cheap straight skis. I'm sure not everyone on here has parents that are willing to buy them 500 bucks in gear (I definitely didn't) so I want to know who is skiing on what 'normal' skis and still killing it out there...?

hah i never have. by some random stroke of luck the first skis i ever got happened to be salomon 7s, i didnt even notice they had twins at the time. in fact, i didnt even know what twins were. it wasnt until one of my racer friends pointed it out that i realized it wasnt standard on all skis and started busting 180s.

I've had twins for about 4 years now I think. But before that I used 4x4's

twins aren't much more expensive than normal skis, and they're cheaper than racing skis. just buy a pair then let them last a few years. as long as you dont get too into rails it'll be ok. anyway if you've got a job 500 dollars every two years or so is nothing.

I learned how to 360 on a pair of unshaped rossignol 134cm skis in first grade...aaahhh...the good days.

I rock the k2 Mambas in the moguls. PE's for everything else tho.

I used rossi cuts til last year too...had the elan airtwists the season prior to that tho...have the PE's now

hah when I started to ski in grade 6 I found these old straight edged flourescent purple bottomed skis. They were bombshells and I was so pimp riding them lol!

im 15, last year was the new 1080's this year same thing just newer and a bigger size...before that tho ugh i was on some sweet rossi freerides and all mountain stuff
