The start of the day was great and the snow stayed that way, we only climbed to 9k feet though since visibility was bad higher than that. This was Friday in the Mt. Shasta BC.

headed out to fissile off of whistler today. really stoked to have finally skied it.

looking into saddle chute

821785.jpeg

elevator shaft/wrap around chute is the line lookers left of the summit, summit chute is on the right of the summit, saddle chute to the right of summit chute. 4 of us skied saddle chute while the rest of the group skied main chute and banana chute on the lower ridge of the mountain. absolutely amazing snow quality.

821788.jpeg

had a massive crew out there. i think there were 11 of us.

a nice little bonus line to end the day, snow was great, definetly worth the extra 30 minutes.

821797.jpeg

really awesome day, great snow, amazing mountain. will be the last day with good stability for a little bit. alpine temps climbing up to 10°C this week. time to change gears and go shred some slushy pipe.

sweat touring to the pass of Saoubiste, french pyrénées.

Damn, the second picture is pure kickturn porn!

Kickturns on more busy skintracks are crap here in Canada compared to Europe plus people try to skin even the steepest stuff straight. Missing the sweet skintracks in Switzland and German alps :(

Actually was warm enough for my phone battery didn't die instantly and I took a photo. It's a purdy one, so I figured it's worth a share.

Couple of pictures from Utah

Sunrise near Pole Line pass up to Superior. Pretty classic Wasatch day

SLC lit up in Hogum near the bottom of Coal Pit headwall.

Approaching the summit of North Thunder mountain (11,150 ft)

My buddy topping out on the summit of Mt. Tukuhnikivatz (12,482 ft.) with Moab in the background

Ascending the NE Couloir of Lone Peak (11,253 ft.) after a long hike up Bells Canyon

On our way back from a bivacco couloir touring mission in Italy (Gran Paradiso area) I found this dead Ibex. It was a youngster that lost a fight with another Ibex. Foxes and birds feasted on the carcass earlier that day.

I chopped his neck with a sharp stone and then cut his flesh and tendons with my knife. Its with an taxidermist now and will soon be on my wall. (without the skin, that was not intact anymore)

Recently committed to skiing every month this year. Fantastic choice so far.

What's your plan for august and September?

Probably gonna resort to St. Mary's Glacier, and then I've heard Rollins Pass near WP holds snow late as well. However, I've been pleasantly surprised as to how much decent skiing you can still find here through July:

On another note, wow I really need to get a real camera.

photos didn't work, still terrible at this:

Hit Lassen Peak this past friday the 22nd. POV pics go from higher up the peak to lower. Last pic was pretty close to the bottom.

dang that's a lot of snow- getting really thin out here. Tried Sundance Mountain in RMNP last thursday and it was rough.

Left the skis at home due to less ambitious trip partners and a tight schedule. Some inspiring lines up there though, will definitely be coming back.

thanks ! I confirm that was really good but steep.

I'm coming next winter to try canada's skintracks, I'll see !

Have yet to put my skins on this year but we got to ski on non-glaciated snow for this first time since April so I'm counting on it.

Finally got out for some real skiing this weekend. Had almost forgotten how fun it is.

not exactly AT or BC, but 2 feet dumped overnight in Arizona so we hopped lots of ropes and lapped off trail trees

Finally got back out today after being sidelined by school, work, and being super sick.

Near gobblers knob in big cottonwood canyon. It heated up tremendously on the skin up but we chose some safe routes down the ridge. It made for a good first time out on the skin track walkin around the mountains with good friends and im definitely yearnin for some more treks this spring.

Super stoked to start getting on some steeper/tighter stuff now that CO's snow is stabalizing.

Wrote a bit about the most recent trip here:

*typical top of grizzly gulch Mt superior down canyon view photo*

884754.jpeg

Coverage was decent, still sharky waters but nabbed a few bottomless turns which felt niceeeee.

884755.jpeg

Crew going back up. Skied skiers left on the other side of the trees you can't see. Was really nice. Had some minor technical difficulties on the trek back up and wasn't able to get as much skiing in as imagined. It's funny how quick you learn in kinda bad situations how possibly faulty your stuff is and what kind of upgrades are needed. My rebranded Black diamond 4FRNT skins froze the fuck up.

884756.jpeg

Stoooooked! Shitty high pressure ridge for a while is a real fuckin bummer though

From a quick tour today in the Baker sidecountry. Kept it mellow since it was my first solo tour in the area but I'm stoked to check out all the terrain that's up there.

1-Lunch and line scoping "lunchbox gullies" in Gros Morne Nat'l Park, NL

2-Approach to "Megatron", Blomidon Mountains, NL

3-Skinning over sastrugi, Blomidon Mountains, NL
