One thing we all need going into the backcountry, is a reliable touring partner. This thread is put in place to list yourself, your location and your knowledge/experience in order to find touring partners in your area, who share the same love of the mountain as you, and are able, ready, and willing to safely save your life in the worst case scenario, as well as wisely assist in avoiding such a scenario.

Introduce yourself, List your location, and areas you tend to ski in.

Your experience, how long you've been touring for, and any knowledge, credentials/certs you have.

Any/All possible Life saving Equipment you use.

Goals, and ambitions for the season, places you want to check out. Trips you want to go on.

What you're looking for in a touring partner, and your expectations.

From here, quote and/or message folks and get a dialogue going. Let's get exploring together and stay safe!

Hello. My name is Sean.

I'm currently located in Northern California. In this area, I have spent most of my touring the North Lake Tahoe area on Rose/Tamarack/Relay Peak, and Castle Peak zones. Silver Peak in Olympic Valley, and Donner Pass on occasion.

Even though I've spent many years in Tahoe, Oddly enough, the majority of my backcountry experience has taken place in New Zealand, Australia, and on Mt. Shasta and in the Siskiyous of Southern Oregon. I have been touring since 2012, but have really been getting into it within the last 2 seasons. I am AIRE level 1 certified since Spring of 2013, and I do my darndest to keep up on any and all literature I can in regards to safety and what potential hazards to keep watch for. You can never have enough knowledge.

I use an ARVA 240 probe, that I intend to replace before the season, a BD Evac 9 spade, and an ARVA Link Beacon. I wear a Mammut Light 30L Airbag. I have about 5 or 6 different touring setups, depending on the snow conditions (I have bad Gear Acquisition Syndrome) I both Telemark as well as Alpine Tour.

This year I would like to start exploring more into the Tahoe backcountry. Make some trips to Benson hut, get into Desolation Wilderness, finally ski Mt. Tallac, and get into Yosemite for some early and late season skiing. Would be more than keen on a trip up to Shasta and Crater Lake if Tahoe gets skunked with a drought year. I want to improve my knowledge further, and make new friends in the area.

For a touring partner, I'd like someone with some adequate experience, and knowledge, who not only pushes me to improve, but also isn't going to bitch to me when I am not confident with the conditions. I want someone with good decision making abilities too. I don't want to have to save your life because you decided to enter some terrain trap because "just send it" or something dumb. I also wouldn't mind having someone totally green on my team, so long as they are willing to learn on their own time, pay attention, and COMMUNICATE. Super important, that last one. Lets work at the same pace, and be a good team.

Happy shredding!

Good Call!

My name is Cy, I live in Driggs, Idaho, and I ski on both sides of the Tetons, with a fair number of trips every year.

I've been touring for four years now, I have my Avy 1, and keep up to date on that. Also have a little glacier rescue. Rookie on SAR this winter, so will be doing some avy refesher stuff with them as soon as we have snow on the ground.

Never out the gates without a beacon, shovel, probe. Using a Tracker 3 right now. I'd really like to do some tests, I don't love the Tracker and may jump over to Arva at some point. Don't have an airbag, not planning on getting one. Pleny of days I've got a whippet and an axe though.

Goals and Ambitions: I like both ends of the spectrum, big days of climbing/ski mountaineering with crappy skiing, and then booter/pillow days. I'd like to get a few more days in GTNP this winter, have a yurt trip planned, and would like to get after it in Togwotee Pass. Also would like to ski some more lines in the Lost River range. Also have a couple pillow zones/cliff hucks lined up for when conditions get good. Biggest thing is I'd like to figure out a good before work lap in Teton Canyon. Tired of driving to the Pass.

I'm pretty flexible on who I'll tour with, as long as expectations and communication are there. I've taken a bunch of people out on their first backcountry days ever, but I love going out with experienced fast people and getting after it. My weakness is definitly geography/routfinding, I rely pretty heavily on Gaia. Want to go build a booter or session a pillow line? I'm in. Want to go ski the Middle? I'm also in, but I'd like to ski a couple less consequencial things to get to know you first.

Backcountry skiing is fun, if you're in the Tetons and want to take a lap, hit me up. I like to skin fast, but that doesn't mean I'm frustrated with you if you're slower. I just get cold, so I rest at the top when I can wear a puffy haha.

My name is Chris, 31, living in Nelson, BC.

Im on my 28th season of skiing this year. 6 years were spent mastering moguls, competing in park for the last 15 years at small events and started competing in Big Mountain and ski touring for the last 3 years. Since I moved to the Kootenays, I fell in love with ski touring; doing every day for the last 6 years. I taught rock climbing for 5 years. Working with ropes is a strong point, but my alpinism skills have to be developed. Ive never done a multi day hike, nor camped out in the winter overnight.

I have AST 1 and 1st Responders first aid that are relatable courses for the back country. I never leave home with a probe, shovel, beacon, compass, topo, extra layer, food and water. The last 3 years in the Nelson area, Ive been guiding as an amateur around the Kootenay Pass and Whitewater, 2 locations I know very well. I always start the day with a plan and try not to deviate too much unless we have to bail; then plan B is always discussed before heading out. My navigation skills are pretty good since I never use a GPS. I use echo-location quite well to keep a group together. So far, most people I have toured with, became great friends of mine and we stay in contact.

Last year I began learning the Rossland range and hope to go there more often. However, I am always a little nervous to road trip.

Im a highly technical skier on the descent and not a huge fan of easy descents. My endurance is high, so I can easily hike for more than 7 hours trying to cover 15-20km of hiking a day. May not be the fastest hiker, but hey, I enjoy the experience and the view. I may not be the best choice for a novice skier, but great for someone who loves to push their limit. There are ethics I always follow: never ditch your partner and every choice is discussed as a team. Im not afraid to turn around when my partner doesnt feel right.

So if anyone needs a guide for the Kootenays, give me a shout through PM and I will respond! I have a spare room for those who need a place to stay. Hope to see you out there

I'm Will. I'm be in Western Alberta and the Kootenays as of now.

I've been touring since 2013 , a few times a year, mostly in Newfoundland.

I have the AST 1 cert.

I have a beacon (tracker 2) , probe and shovel.

I'm down to tour anywhere, especially around Nelson/ Kootenay Pass in the next few weeks. I like to ski trees, natural features (drops, pillows etc.), mini-golf type stuff the most, but I also like open alpine, couloirs etc. I'm omnivorous when it comes to terrain. I'm down to build jumps as well.

If you're down to go skiing, let me know! I'd love it if someone with more knowledge of the area could show me around a bit.

Haydo, from Alaska 27 years old. Grew up skiing Alyeska and Chugach. Did a majority of my BC with a sled but would tour from time to time. Down in Denver now and like meeting people stoked to get out there. Have Beacon, Probe, Shovel and Airbag. Practice multiple times a year with beacon recovery. Love to explore new zones and always down to get a crew together and dig a jump! Sadly a weekend warrior could always call in sick though haha.

I'm Bert, recently moved to Utah from the French Alps.

Been playing around in the backcountry for years in the alps where I never really felt the needs to skin up to access a lot of good terrain, hiking is usually enough. But here it feels like you're quickly limited if you stick to the options a resort offer, so I'm picking up touring and earning my turns.

Beacon, shovel, and probe are in my pack, and I also have an Airbag.

I have my Avy level 1 cert.

I guess when it comes to partners I'm looking for someone similar to me, laid back, not in a rush, just here to have a good time!

Howdy, my name is Riley, 23. currently living in Edmonton AB but do trips to the rockies every other weekend.

started off racing for 7 years then switched to park when i was 16. I have done a little side country around sunshine and have been up to bow summit a few times. I wouldn't mind checking out Kananaskis country and some other areas along the Icefields parkway. I like jumping off things and would put in the work to build a jump if that's what you're into. Although i won't turn down some open alpine runs either.

I'll admit i don't have much experience in the backcountry. which is why i'd like to find someone with more knowledge to ski with and learn from. Or turn me away from doing something stupid. I do have my AST 1, Tracker 2, probe and shovel.

I like to be positive about most things and love nothing more in this world than skiing with people who are as stoked as i am.

Hey all,

I'm looking for people to tour with in the SLC region during January. I am available many days, except for the 10th to the 19th, and the 28th and 29th.

I am down for basically anything, whether that's mellow touring or ski mountaineering with climbing involved. I have been touring since 2010 and I have my avy 2 and Outdoor Emergency Care.

Hey skiers,

I just moved over from France to Kentucky, but have been skiing since I was 2 so brought my skis over here (I ski about 60days a year usually). I will be coming and staying in Boulder next weekend, 12th and 13th of January. I see there won t be much powder snow in the resorts, so will want to go backcountry, but need a partner(s).. I ll have a car from Boulder so would be very much wanting to drive someone who s willing to show me some nice backcountry routes.

Hope this will work, my number is 270 202 2433.

Relax and ride :-)

Hey guys! My name is Owen, I’m 22, and I live in Kelowna, BC

I have a small amount of backcountry experience and recently got my AST 1 cert. this year I moved up here from Big Sky, MT and I’ve got to get out into the backcountry more to ski the kind of terrain that I want to here. I love skiing big lines, but days playing in the trees are always fun too! At this point I’m very interested in finding more people that can help me advance my backcountry knowledge while still skiing hard. So shoot me a PM if you wanna hike some laps!

Hey guys,

My name is Brandon, I'm 22 years old and I'm currently located in Missoula, MT. I currently ski only on piste but have finally completed my BC ski setup and am looking to get out with someone more knowledgeable than I to gain experience. I have nearly 7 years of experience in the backcountry on a snowmobile in varying terrain and altitude.

I do not have any formal avalanche training however I plan on changing that in the very near future (ala AIARE 1). Again, I do have nearly 7 years of experience on snowmobile navigating off-trail through avalanche terrain, for what it's worth. I have been downhill skiing for nearly a decade, though I have not stuck to any single style. I am comfortable skiing in a wide variety of terrain and snow conditions and consider myself an advanced skier from groomers and ice to champagne, snorkel weather. I am relatively familiar with standard snowpack tests, and am extremely interested in learning more.

I do own and have experience in using an Ortovox 3+ transceiver (one not affected by the recall), an MSR Striker 320 Probe, and a collapsible aluminum shovel. I do not have an airbag, nor do I plan on buying one anytime soon.

My Goal: To learn as much as possible about backcountry skiing, as well as safety practices. I primarily want to ski in the western Montana area this season and meet partners I can grow confidence and trust in while gaining more experience on slats instead of tread. Next season I hope to be more mobile and able to experience new zones.

My ideal partner is someone who has experience primarily in backcountry skiing, though general backcountry access experience is always valued. I don't need an absolute expert by any means due to my prior experience, but I am not looking to head out with another newcomer. I expect a partner to listen to my concerns when it comes to conditions and not cause problems if we need to re-evaluate our goals for the day. I hope to find a partner skilled in first aid, but that is not an immediate requirement.

Hi guys,

I’m David, I live in Truckee, CA and have done most of my touring around Carson Pass and Castle Peak.

This is my 3rd season getting in to the backcountry, although the first two were really focused more on spring skiing and a bit more longer distance touring on NNBC bindings and fishscale skis! I recently got Avy 1, and have been making a concerted effort to read and listen to as much information as possible, whether that be books like Tremper’s, or podcasts like the Avalanche Hour.

I carry a shovel, probe, and a Mammut Barryvox beacon, and am slowly adding to the other gear that I carry, includ8ng first aid, emergency bibby, ski straps, multitool etc. I am looking at getting an inreach in the next few months.

My number one goal this season is to get more mileage and experience. I want to explore the areas around the West shore areas Tahoe. Later in the season I want to do Shasta and Lassen, and am also planning to start exploring the east side of the Sierra.

I’d really like to tour with someone who has a little more experience and local knowledge, but I’m not afraid to speak up and participate in planning and decisions. I’m more than happy turning around and skiing back down the skin track. I’m definitely a morning person, and alpine starts are fine by me. I’m fine going for long tours, and most of the time move at an all day pace.

What's up NS! Looking for touring partner in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc region for my break from school next week. Don't know the area so would love to have someone show me around. I have have avalanche training, shovel, beacon, probe, and of course partner must also. For reference, I'm on a light tech setup and am a strong skier who is very fast uphill and down. Shoot me a message if you're interested, thanks!

Hey ya’ll!

Im looking for a partner in the SLC area!

I just moved to the area and would love to find some people to go touring with!

Experience: I’ve backcountry skied for 1 season now, but not very heavily. I have my recreational avy 1 from this summer in New Zealand. Been a ski patroller for 3 seasons, I enjoy skiing steep things and smaller cliff lines(for now). I would say I’m an average paced skinner, definitely not fast but I’d beat a very high paced teenage turtle.

I’d love to go ski with some experienced folks but I’m down for whatever.

Would love to to dig some pits, so I can keep my skills alive.

about me:

name: Abi

gender: female (obviously)

gear: atomic backlands 102, no airbag but all other necessary BC equipment

hobbies besides skiing: mtb, hiking, listening to podcasts, exploring, making dumb jokes, sarcasm, the occasional rock climbing adventure.

Pm me if you wanna go out, or know of someone that might!

cheers!

Location Update: Now in Niseko, Japan and way more experienced.

Also backcountry in Japan includes onsens at the end of the day so it's a huge win.

Simon from Nederland, CO

Education: AIARE 1, Rescue, Pro 1, WFR, Introductory Ski Mountaineering course from Colorado Mountain School

Experience: ~200 backcountry days over the past five years

Equipment: standard b/s/p, airbag and avalung (the latter aren't always used as I use them based on tour objectives and conditions), ski crampons, some of the technical climbing/rappelling gear but I'm building this out

Skiing Description: mellow tree glades to steep couloirs. All depends on conditions and the crew! Getting into more technical ascents/descents.

Common Areas: Indian Peaks, RMNP, Summit, Vail, hut trips elsewhere in the state and other trips beyond.

Interests: Meeting new ski/splitboard partners, exploring off the beaten path zones, hoping to do a few backcountry camping overnights, more technical ascents/descents

Ian here, living in Whistler, ski everywhere from small hikes out of bounds to multiday hut trips and summits/bigger objectives.

Been touring for 12 years in and around Whis, have AST1 and 2 (AST2 taken 3 years ago now I think) and took OFA1 this summer.

Use BD shovel, Tracker3, and no BD probe.

Haven't toured yet this year cause the BC has been kinda shit and I've been skiing on hill. Looking to get back into it and happy to do anything from chill mini-golf stuff to building up to big couloirs. Also going to Japan Jan 22-Feb 11 if anyone wants to meet up there.

Looking for someone who loves every part of skiing so they're not too disappointed to turn away from stuff if conditions don't feel right. Someone with outdoor experience that can push themselves physically as well as type 3 and up skier would be ideal.

Hope to get out with some of you this season!

Hi, I'm Twinjibber and I started getting into touring last year. I live in Central PA and I've never seen another person using skins in my time here, but I've had over a dozen people ask me what the hell i'm doing.

I have no certifications or experience based on this location. I just watch Youtube videos and have a shovel and probe. We've only gotten enough snow to maybe need the shovel once. Since I'm alone 100% of the time, I just leave exact locations and a timeline with someone.

According to the elderly ski patrollers, these resorts have a "strict no-uphill policy", but I just keep it elusive now.

Hey everyone! I'm Nick, 24, from the Bay Area and ski primarily in the Northern Tahoe area. I just got my backcountry set-up this season and am looking forward to getting away from resorts these days.

As far as education goes, I have taken the AIARE Rescue class and plan to enroll in AIARE 1 as well. I'm a fairly aggressive skier on the downhills, but as I mentioned, still new to the backcountry.

I'm equipped with all of my own gear already. I'm using the BCA Tracker 2, probe, and shovel.

Ideally, I'd love to find a partner with more knowledge of the backcountry than myself, so I can learn a bit along the way. I'm always up for a challenge (whether that is on the uphill or downhill). I'll be up in Tahoe this weekend and would love to go out for a tour, but also am interested in finding someone who may want to go on a more regular basis.

Let me know if you're interested in getting out there some time. I'd love to meet some new ski buddies!

What's up shredders! Shaggy here,

I am from Tahoe and have spent the last 4 - 5 seasons touring there. I have been skiing at resorts my entire life.

Washington area is where I am looking for a touring buddy. I now live in a van and will be in Washington for some time. With all of the resort's closing, I will be heading to the backcountry and need a buddy to do so with!

Always wear a beacon on a pow day in bounds! I am AIARE 1 certified and have the standard beacon, probe, shovel. I had to watch some people get caught in an avalanche while stuck on the lift at alpine meadows earlier this year. I even had all of my gear with me and could have helped, but did not want to jump off the lift.

As fun as the backcountry is, safety needs to come first! Which is why I have not headed outback yet since I do not know many people up here in Washington.

I am into both technical lines that are a mission to get to, and mellow laps that you can ski a few times in the morning.

I just want to ski, whether it is up or downhill, hard or easy, I'm into it!

Let me know if you are interested in touring! I'll probably be headed to Idaho and then Utah in the near future.

Hi my name is Kyle,

I live in New Hampshire most of the year (on my last last year of school at UNH). Right now I’m usually skiing cannon however just started buying some AT equipment and will have a full setup by this season. Don’t have any Certs yet but going to take my AIRE 1 this January. Planning on starting off in the Granite Backcountry Alliance spot and once I get the AIRE 1 and a beacon/probe/shovel plan to start skiing the Presidentials, done a good amount of hiking in the area so I’ve scoped out some good spots, also skied gulf of slide once. Haven’t found an inbounds run I wouldn’t ski in the East or West so will probably be more constrained by my avy awareness than my actual skiing. Really looking for any one in the East as a touring partner whether I can learn from them or just learn with them.

Ok gonna send it on this thread with the hopes of linking up with some folks who are down to explore the Tahoe backcountry.

Hi everyone, I'm Rob, 28 years old and been riding a snowboard since I was 8 years old and have stuck to the resorts mostly. Originally from the east coast and have rode almost every resort New England has to offer. Moved out to the Bay Area about five years ago and have been exploring the token Tahoe resorts (Northstar, Heavenly, etc).

Really want to start adventuring into the backcountry with any other snowboarders/skiers. No avy certifications or gear yet but definitely ready/willing to take the course and buy/rent the necessary safety gear. Would love to connect with anyone who has any tips on getting started.

My riding is pretty versatile. I love to go fast and send some jumps but also love just cruising powder. Hoping to meet up with some other folks who share the same backcountry goals :)

Hey!

I’m planning on being in the Tahoe area a bunch this season! Would be down to do some beacon practice once ya get your certs!

Hey everyone. I live in Portland, OR. I have been skiing for 20+ years. I am 26. I broke some bones a few years back and have become a weaker skiier but can still navigate most terrain. I just completed my touring setup and am looking to start some begginner tours around Mt Hood and PNW. Shoot me a note! Would love to get the lay of the land around Hood, start touring with people who can kind of show me the ropes! A few of my buddies are far beyond my experience lever in touring and don't want to do little backcountry tours with me. They are looking for ski mountaineering. I am not there yet. cant wait to hear from you all!

Kind of a longshot with my location, I'm Vic and I live in Central Wisconsin, I ski and work at granite peak and go to Mt Bohemia about every other week

Ive got 1 season of touring under my belt, Have taken a couple Avvy classes through the college I attended in CO last year and have basic rescue knowledge but no certs.

I always carry my beacon, probe, and shovel and the necessary knowledge to use them wherever I'm at.

I hope to gain more touring experience this season, Id like to check out more spots beside the backside of my local resort, if COViD chills out enough Id love to get out to Colorado and Utah and get some bigger lines in

Im looking for a partner who is safety focused, yet still fun to get rowdy with, willing to offer insight in areas that I may be lacking, and respectful to natural areas.

Cheers, looking forward to connecting with yall

Hi! I'm Kody.

Looking for some backcountry buddies.

I'm currently living in Tahoe Vista and spend most of my time on West Shore or exploring around the Sierras looking for interesting places to ski.

I've been patrolling for 5 years and I'm currently at Squaw. Proficient with my beacon for multiple burials.

I've had my Avy 1 for a while and my Pro 1 for a couple years. I used to do some avalanche forecasting at my old resort as well.

Down with pretty much any types of trips, from short to multi day.

I enjoy going out in smaller groups and all experience levels. Everyone has something to teach and I also enjoy nerding out on snow and sharing my knowledge.

My days off for work right now are pretty weird but it doesn't hurt to ask, if I'm free I'm usually down to go.

Not on here much, give me a shout on Instagram and I'll get to you ASAP.

@_kodyweil

PS: I free the heel and ski forreal

Hey, I'm Alex, I'm 19, and I ski in the Bend, OR area.

This is my first year skiing the backcountry, I took my AIARE 1 a few weeks ago and plan on continuing to build on that through experience and additional research (I've been doing a good bit of reading and following forecasts). I have a BCA Stealth 300 probe, a BCA RS EXT Shovel, and a Mammut Barryvox.

In the winter I'm mostly looking to ski on low or moderate danger days when the resort is tracked and I don't feel like skiing park, mostly looking for more mini golf type lines and windlip/cornice zones than meadow skipping, but I'm down for whatever. I don't have a sled, so I'm mostly looking at the Tumalo and Todd Ridge area (or maybe drive to Santiam pass), but I'd happily take a tow if offered. In the spring/summer I'll be looking to bigger volcano missions and stuff in the alpine, mostly peak focused objectives but definitely want to check out the couloirs on Broken Top when they're filled in and stable.

It's looking like I won't often have any touring partners among my friends this winter, probably never for the next month, so I'd love to meet some more people who want to tour so I can actually get out safely. If you're in the area and willing to ski with someone with my level of experience shoot me a PM so I know who I can get in contact with, Thanks!

Heya :-)

23, North Vancouver BC Canada

I know not many people want to go touring with someone new to the bc but worth a shot!

AST1 - 1 season in the BC approx 10 days touring

So far I’ve been up to the Husume couloir on Spearhead glacier, flute/oboe(?) on Whistler mtn, Cayoosh in Duffy lake, Hollyburn on Cypress, Zoa in the Coq, Red Heather (least favorite spot lol) and my favorite trip was Brian Waddington Hut - 3 days up in Lillooet.

Goals for next season

- faster on the skin track

- wilderness first aid/ast2

- navigating and reading terrain

- hut trips

- building jumps

- maybe some camping if i can get the right gear

- finding some solid touring partners (i understand sometimes it can take years to find the right crew )

I know its June but winter’s always on my mind lol, hmu if you are in the area let’s start making some plans!

Reviving this thread a bit because ski season is here, and I haven't met any serious backcountry skiers yet because I just moved... My name is Dash and I am originally from Anchorage AK, but am going to school in Salt Lake for the next 3 years. I have taken AVI 1 and AVI 2 and usually get a minimum of 20 BC days a year, but that number is pretty variable and sometimes it's much higher. Usually I'm just going out to find some good snow in a low risk low consequence zone, but I also definitely appreciate a good booter and longer peak bagging missions in the spring. I'm an unemployed student this winter so I have wayyyyy too much time on my hands to tour and would love to find someone or a group of people who is down to go all the time!

Sup friends, name is Brad.

Located in Pittsfield, VT (near Killington). I have a pass at Killington and also do a lot of ski touring in the backcountry in Pittsfield and around central VT.

My experience level is expert/ professional. I’m 34, in my 20s I skied professionally. Now I work from home but still ski obsessively. I've been touring for about 3 years.

Would love to pair up with other passionate ski tourers/split boarders in the Vermont/ New England area.

At my house in Pittsfield, I have a tour track that runs up a ridge for 1,500 vertical feet of tree skiing. Its a blast! Would love to guide some folks up.

Make it snow!

Irrelevant for this winter as I am in Summit County currently. But I just bought some land in Berlin, VT and will be back this summer for the foreseeable future. I will follow up about some touring missions next fall. Have fun out there, your setup sounds great!

Reviving this thread to find some more partners...

Anyone looking to do some tours in the Summit County, CO area? My name is Matt, I am 28 y/o. I've got a decent amount of experience - Avy 1 for years, 2 and rescue coming up this year. Last season was my first season living in Summit, and I got out touring a lot. Have a grip of spots on deck depending on conditions. Would also be stoked to hop on any hut trips if anyone has one reserved. I am a conservative decision maker and generally stay below 30 degree slopes during mid-winter, unless things are looking extremely stable. I love getting into steeper and bigger lines in the springs and summer once things have consolidated.

Would love to find a reliable partner or two but am also down to catch some mellow turns if you are simply passing through the area.

I’d be down to get out sometime. I lost my main touring partners to life changes (3 kids for one and a move away from skiing for another).

I live in Nederland and often tour the front range, but can make the trip to Summit or elsewhere.

Training/experience:

- AIARE rec 1/rescue/2

- AIARE Pro 1 & Instructor Training Course

- AMGA Apprentice Ski/Alpine Guide

- probably north of 200 days of touring

- 15 or so huts in CO

- only one night of winter camping but interested in doing more!

Winter goals

I like to explore new zones and am willing to walk a decent distance to get to them. I enjoy a moderate pace, not skimo but like to cover some ground. I’m happy with low angle, high fun in winter, unless conditions warrant otherwise.

Spring/Summer

I love steep skiing in Brainard, RMNP, and typically some hut trips in the San Juan’s, Elks or Aspen areas. I’m starting to progress into more technical ski mountaineering with some light rope work and glaciated tours. I love a good bike to ski in brainard.

I’m heading to Chamonix in February and hope to get a Volcanoes PNW or AK glacier trip in late April or May

HMU. My girlfriend and I live in Estes Park and will spend most of our winter in RMNP or the surrounding area.

Have a group of friends of all levels and trust.

I’m pretty risk adverse.
