Someone explained this to me very well today.

When herds of Buffalo travel across large distances they are only as efficient as their slowest members. As they travel the fastest and most efficient members of the herd can only travel as fast as the slowest, least efficient members In order to keep the pack together.As they travel over their journey, the slowest and least efficient members are slowly picked off by predators and disease. Over time this allows the herd to become a faster and more efficient group due to the faster and more efficient members of the heard being able to go at their speed, not being held back by the slower, less efficient members.

The human brain works a lot like a heard of Buffalo. The human brain starts out with many brain cells but many of these are inefficient and hold back the faster, more efficient cells in the brain. After the consumption of alcohol, some of these less efficient cells are killed off. After the prolonged consumption of alcohol, most of these slow, inefficient brain cells are killed off.

This leaves the brain as a faster, more efficient unit, producing a higher level of Intelligence.
 
And drinking would make you a genius, if you somehow resistant to liver cirrhosis, vitamin deficiencies and Korsakoff's syndrome
 
In reality the brain operates like a parallel processor. The more cells

that are killed, the fewer operations we can accomplish in the same

amount of time.

so drink up, and keep being dumb
 
yea this is stupid. i realize its just a joke and meant to be funny/clever, but it doesnt even make sense. why would drinking necessarily kill off the worst brain cells? i guess i could be mistaken, but it seems to me that alcohol isnt really selective when it kills off brain cells. so really the 'herd' will probably stay slow, since both slow & fast ones are picked off at random.
but like i said, i might be wrong.
 
that's simply not true. I can barely put my shoes on properly after a heavy night of drinking. And I nearly failed out of college due to it.
 
this is completely ripped off from cheers. it is pretty funny though.
"Well you see Norm, it's like this...a herd of Buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo.And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole. becasue the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eleiminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster more efficient machine.
And that , Normy, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers!"
 
well since this is about alcohol and your talking about drug, maybe you should get checked again, seems like more than 7 points
