i was watching sportcenter and once the guy caught the ball there was like 50 people jumping on him anybody else see that i just thought it was funny
 
yeah and then for the 755 one the guy was holding it up like a trophy and the guy behind him tried to take it but his wife slapped him. whipped
 
i was listening to some talk show on the radio and they said that someone put an offer up for 1 mill for 755, BEFORE he hit it. i dont know if its true but thats still crazy
 
there was an article in the paper about it today. he's from queens, new york and he was on his way to australia with a friend. they had a layover of a few hours so they bought tickets to the game at the stadium. he was all bloody and his clothes were ripped after he finally got the ball in the scrum. then police escorted him to a special room so no one would take it. a bunch of reporters were asking him questions and all he said was, "im mike from queens new york."
 
yeah he's going to get tones of money. thats the record breaking home run ball, millionares will go crazy after it.
 
I saw it, the women that was sitting there was being killed by people jumping all around her in desperation to get the ball.
 
there is a sports memorbilia company that had put an offer on the homer that was hit last nihgt b4 it was even hit. but the baseball hall of fame is gonna put an offer in too. along with maybe barry adn crazy rich fans. this ball will go for at least 5mil.
 
better sell that shit quick because arod is bound to beat that if he stays healthy

yeah bonds' record is gonna be down within 10 years. i predict A-rod will take him down too.
 
i dont know if barry is... i thought he would want it but then on sports center they showed a reporter asking him if he wanted it and his response was like, i dont think i should have it, i always believed that the fans owned the homerun balls so i think that he should keep it.

i was kind of surprised becaus i figured thats one of the biggest milestones you could reach in your career so wouldnt you want the ball to remember it by?

I know theres alot of people that hate Barry Bonds. But seriously, good for Barry. I don't even care if he took steroids. Steroids aren't what make your swing better. It just makes you stronger. And yes, that is a pretty big factor. But if you don't have a good swing it doesn't matter how strong you are.
 
his 715th went for $220,000 on ebay so i could imagine it will be worth around that price

steriods have about 80% of it. they make his swing faster and he gets more power. i get that he has to have the fundumental down. but having the fundumentals, and having them and taking steriods def. makes the diference
 
Do you play baseball? The fundementals of a swing is an art. I'm sure the guys in the majors "have it all down" but they still work on them constantly. If he was strong and on roids, but his swing wasn't as perfect as it is he would not have as many home rums.

i saw both the tying and winning home runs at parties when i turned on the tv and was flipping through and each time i stopped at sports center when barry bonds was at bat and he hit both homeruns at those 2 at bats. then i bought a lottery ticket and won 20 bucks.
 
i'd be willing to bet someone it doesnt go for 5 million like said above. in fact, i bet it goes no higher than 1.5.
 
Why anyone cares at all is what is so surprising. As a country, we have millions of homeless people starving, a war that we shouldn't have started on our backs, trillions in debt that you and I will have to pay for, and we care more about some asshole(the guy is not nice to people) who is under suspicion for cheating (yes, steroids are cheating) who hit a ball with a bit of wood and now some other idiot will pay millions for it? Good Lord.
 
Baseball is americas pasttime, and if you knew anything about the history of it, you would know the affect it had on this country through previous wars, and you wouldnt be so quick to dismiss it as trivial.

But the point is, does that mean we can't talk about things that aren't politically important.

he was wearing a mets jersey cuz he was from newyork and had a layover in SF. i heard he was bleeding by the time the cops escorted him out.
 
and i watched virtually every at bat for his tying and breaking home runs and the couple i missed is when he hit both tying and breaking the record.
 
I saw my friend cheat on a history exam and getting 100. Is that any different?
