The Summer Bod.

I hate going to the gym. i dont enjoy working out. running is ok but its not exactly fun for me. I'm a very active person and like to do a lot of sports, but with the little snowfall this winter i didnt do much. so NS, whats the best way to get in shape and start seeing some results soon? I've had a little beer belly for a couple years now, and its time for it to go. If you guys can help me come up with a short little program that i could do in my dorm or at home, that would be huge and i would be grateful. I have a pull up bar, mainly looking for ways to stay out of the gym, as i think that will give me the greatest chance of success (i dont have the discipline or the money to go to the gym). can u give me a routine to do like x push ups, x pull ups, x situps, how often and how far to run (i usually do 2 miles about twice a week), etc... and whats the deal with protein powder? what should my diet look like?

Thank you!

Sorry buddy, but most people really dont enjoy the act of working out. What really should motivate you is the results of working out, and how you feel afterwords. Try bodybuilding.com for a routine, and after a couple weeks of a regular schedule you'll fall into a habit of working out

ya thats my problem, the things i have tried i never so any results, thats what makes it so unmotivational for me. ill be sure to check out the link tho, thanks

first of all, you need a good routine.

second, it takes months to see results.

its called commitment and hardwork for a reason

if you can stick it out for a good 2 months, there's no doubt youll see results. and once you see them, it becomes an addiction, and it becomes nonstop progress. you just have to get past that first hump

yup and thats what im trying to do right now, find that routine that will be best for me. thanks for the response

this. once you start moving real weight correctly and begin seeing results it'll get addicting really quickly and you'll begin to enjoy working out/ lifting more and more. you just need to commit.

no one, people live to become stronger for their sport more then likely.

there is a difference from becoming faster and stronger, then just getting in shape.

if u would like when i get the calculations i will post them here for u, ill explain a little abotu it in the first place...first off, im an exercise physiology major so we do many labs involving fitness and body composition, first we measured my weight height age, then we measured my residual volume, with my top score being 4.3, then we went into the underwater weighing tank where we did 9 trials and i was submerged every time blowing as much air out of my body as i possibly could, taking the last 5 numbers and avging them which came to 5.5, then we did some calculations with my body weight in kg's, and i believe the temperature of the water as well, and then used some control numbers and came up with my body density, and then changed it to %body fat and came up with 4.3%...my prof said hes been doing this for many years (hes in his 60's) and that is my body fat measured with the most accurate equipment available, we also used skin calipers, from 3 different skin folds, as well as the electrical bio impedence device which is the most inaccurate measurement...im not a liar, there is no reason for me to lie about this

i think im gonna pick up lax, yaknow cradle some balls and really handle the shaft as well as i can. to make varsity you have to get the whole d pole in your ass though, that might be hard to do

If you wanna lose the beer belly you have to do cardio to burn the fat off, weights wont help so much with that. I would run at least 3 times a week, ideally 4 days. Or do some other longer distance activity for a longer period of time such as biking.

Everyone is claiming how nice their body is or what their times are for events or how much they lift, so I might as well post up mine

I have a legit six pack, it's actually like an 8 pack

I'm completely toned, all muscles

I actually compete for various photo shoots and have been in muscle and fitness

I am 6'3 and weigh 210

I bench 550

I squat 850

I curl 150

My mile time is 4:34

My two mile time is 9:29

My penis is 9 inches long

My PR 5k is 17:44

I swim 10 miles a day to work

I bike 40-50 miles a day

I have a 54 inch vertical

But most importantly, I'm going to Russia so who gives a fuck what I look like, I'll get a hot wife because she wants citizenship
