There is this attitude floating between all skate boarders.. They think that if they skate board. They are automaticaly snow boarders too. This should not be...

I am not saying anything against skate boarding, but i have a great, yet extremely unpopular alternative for twin tippers. Aggressive In-line skating. I know that most twin tippers use skat boarding as their summer escape.. I only have one question.. WHY??? We are known, as twin tippers , for going big , and skate boarders don't go big, simple as that.. All tricks on skate boards are about a foot off the ground. In-line skating grants the oportunity for huge air and a better summer alternanive to skate boarding,, Sorry ((Phil Dion))....

 
or you could go to all your friends houses and get all of the change from under their couches and come out here and ski all summer

why does everyone want to inline skate all of the sudden. who gives a shit what people to over summer. you do what you wanna do and everyone else will do what they wanna to do. thats it

yah...inline would be better cross training...but i have no desire to inline. I'd rather bmx or wakeboard. Or sit on my ass and waste away the summer days.

Yeah, my point was that, there are alteranatives to skateboarding, and SORRY but one out of every 200,000,000,000,000 (well you get the point) skateboraders in this country can acutally ride a half pipe and get air.. So don't take credit for what the pros can do..

And sorry, actually in-line skating doesn't help with skiing tricks really at all. But it is fun and a great rush. But if I had the boat and the money and lake, i'd proabably be wakeboarding all summer too. Unfortunately I only get to a lake and on a board about once a year.

 
yeah i agree.

skateboarding doesn't go big. maybe in vert, but other than that, all they do is these tricks which look SO hucked and they never land shit. people skateboard every day and still can't land all their stuff. its such an inconsistent sport- in all comps no one lands everything. they try to do like 80820930923u81029380 flips on the ground, and it looks so not smooth. it is the most spaz-looking sport, and it totally doesn't flow.

Skateboarders don't go big... Skateboarders aren't smooth? Oh Jesus... you guys aren't watching skate videos. Skateboarding is an amazingly technical sport, and people have jumped gaps from 2 stories up, and tons of pros have their flip tricks down smooth, just watch Josh Kalis, Mark Appleyard, or PJ Ladd. Skateboarding has tons of style, you just can't base it on the style of kids who've only been skating for a year at your local skatepark.

 
Yeah I am totaly not bashing any one elses sports, but if you don't have any good spots to mountain bike ((which by the way,, ROCKS)) then it's a good alternative.. Anyway,, in the summer I mountain bike, in-line skate, rock climb, cliff dive, wakeboard (when I can get to the lake), sand board, mountain climb, dirt bike((untill my bike busted an i had to sell it)), and lots of other stuff not extreme related.. And by the way,, skateborad tricks take a lot of skill, but NO BALLS. So untill you become tony hawk and start actually riding,, DON'T TAKE CREDIT FOR WHAT THE PROS GOT!!!!

For every pro skater there are dozens more unknows that kill it just as hard. Same as skiing (as half the kids on this site attest or at lest wish, that they are the next great thing in skiing)

you are a dumb dumb fuck... in line skating is the queerest gayest thing ever.. i used to inline, and i could skate very, grind curbs, and do tons of other shit in less than a week. there's no challange to it. anyone could become a pro, however i dont knwo why you'd want to become a pro of a dying.. if not dead sport, in less than a year. skateboarding is so much more tech, and you say 'all the tricks are less than a foot off the ground' that's so gay.. ever heard of handrails, or roof to roof gaps.. and no it;'s not only pros who can do that shit, i have friends who 'suck' compared to pros and they can do that shit.. so fuck you and yo crew, bia.

You came off a little strong there. Skateboarding is an extremely difficult sport, and is very much related to skiing in the sense that you are working with technical tricks.

I am not impressed at all with anything I've seen on rollerblades. It's all hucked and fruity, just like skiboards, but lets not get into that today.

Anyways, just do what works for you this summer, whether its sitting on your ass playing tony hawk, or going outside doing other sports. Everyone has their niche. Let it be.

wow, old post, i wrote that a year or so ago

honestly, i never had respect for boarders back home, they sucked and never had respect for any rollers or bikers

they guys here at my park at college are pretty sick, and they give out props to people other than themselves, theres mutual respect, which ive never seen come from boarders before

the whole stupid rolling vs. board thing is friggin ridiculous, ive been skating for 6 years, and it shouldnt be some summer training program for skiing, its a sport in and of itself

both skating and rolling are progressing to insane levels and shouldnt be compared. we both do em to have fun, and both shouold be given equal respect. i honestly cant wait to see big-air skate boarding progress in the next 2-3 years, its gonna go crazy

so, in conclusion, LET IT DIE ALREADY!!!

to every person who says inline is just easyier and there for its 'gay.' there is a challenge to inline as with every sport, you are just to scared to try the challenging tricks (as am I)

calling something gay because you heard other people say that or because you think another sport is cooler is pretty sad. (same with skiboarding)Just let people do what sports they enjoy and leave it at that.

also watch 'hashassins' its a inline video and shit will blow your mind skaters doing 5 or more switch ups on huge double kinks and a guy mistys off a 20ft drop to flat. they also go to a closed water park and skate the water slides like something you might expect in a video game but real.
