The Stoked Thread

yeah haha not really..... next time I try something like that I'm going to go at it with quadruple the photos.... gotta be living in the mountains for that though! Probably not going to go back and change it at this point, but I'm stoked on how it turned out with what I had

dude...umm I need your resume remember? i mean..unless you dont want to take photos of some 60 yr old ladies tits.

Goodbye Blue Monday

15" of fresh today, and the Alpental bc opened this morning after patrol skied it very throughly yesterday. First day on my Caylors, and I love them. Met some new people to ski with. Shredding again tomorrow.

Life is good.

skied ~3 feet of pow today..pillows and natural bumps and jumps. and i did frontflips! i have never gone upside down on skis before, so i was pretty excited.

Saw a small band play in a packed to the walls small basement in a friends house. Didn't stay too long, but it was cool to see, original Seattle music being played in its element.

Haha, fuck yeah! I think the only time I would ever consider putting text on my body is if it was Vonnegut. That tattoo is sick!

What's the rest of it going to look like? That looks good as a stand-alone piece for sure, but it would probably be even better as part of a sleeve.

this is a massive picture -- hopefully it fits the forums

but what about trying to get Vonnegut's signature portrait incorporated?

I'd be kind of interested to see what it would be like to juxtapose the two rather than trying to incorporate them in the same style. What you have right now would definitely be the dominant element (and rightfully so), and having that pop from the rest of the sleeve could be really sweet. Of course, it's hard to say for certain without actually seeing it, and this will be going on your arm rather than mine.

Really, where at? I'm moving back up to Anchorage for a few months on Friday. Is it at the Sealife Center in Seward? If so, you'd love it there; I've had a number of friends who've done internships there and had a blast.

picked up MIA's album Kala and her Paper Planes Homeland Security Remixes disc for $15... not bad for 17 tracks to begin with. Kala's fucking awesome and the HSR range from super funky 70's stuff to hip hop to house. good shit and verra, verra STOKED.
if you have the chance to fuck to Kala, do it. that's all i'm sayin.

I FUCKING LOVE YOUTUBE

I've been jamming away on my bass tonight and i was flicking through some songs I know on youtube to play along with and i ended up at this groovy ass upbeat acoustic cover/remake of 'what its like' and the beat from gave me inspiration for my first original bass solo jam. suuuuuuch a sick feeling:D

Drew, the new ink is extra badass, by the way. I'm excited to see your half-sleeve completed. Stoked for you!

I'm stoked that I'll be living back in Alaska in less than a week! I took fifteen garbage bags full of stuff to Goodwill today and sold my couch and bed. My relationship with my parents has improved dramatically over the past couple of weeks, and I'm really really happy about that. Oh yeah, and I'm stoked to be bringing my car up to Alaska with me and starting a government job making $4000 a month to do stuff I love again. Woo!

Storm track shifted west a bit which now puts Southern VT in play for this next storm tonight and tomorrow.

Ian, grab your skis and your gnarly pants, Magic is looking like a go tomorrow.

Good thing rules were ment to be broken because thelast few days have been so fucking random but amazing none the less. Im super stoked on just being!

my buddies and I did shrooms last night and it was amazing! We just chilled in our house and tripped balls all night. Soo funny. Was a good experience, but I won't be doing them that often.

was in sacramento again this weekend. ash's parents gave us her grandmother's diamond, so all we had to do was pick a setting. once they set the stone and such, the jeweler is gonna ship it up to me (saving me hundreds of dollars in sales tax). then i just have to wait four more weeks for ash to come up here again to officially ask.

So i commented in the not stoked thread last night regarding this huge email i needed to throw down on to save my geography project and this morning I got replies from my Prof and the Partnership co-coordinator (haven't heard from the host yet :P) and they are both basically eating out of my hand now..haha most excellent!

SOOOO STOKED/relieved....now i just need to follow through and finish the report

Hahahaha, one of my room mates was pretty drunk last night and didn't quite make it all the way too the bathroom. The result? Peeing on his iphone, it no longer works. I know I probably shouldn't be laughing, but he is one of those people that is on it 24/7 playing those stupid games. It is too much to resist, hahaha

I just met with my surgeon and he actually had a semi-good outlook on my knee considering my circumstances. I can still ski and mountain bike, I just have to tone things down if it swells because that means I am losing the tiny bit of cartailage that remains in my knee. He said no extreme skiing events for me anymore, but that didn't come as much of a blow because that dream was squashed after the first surgery. So yeah, now I get a pimpin' robo brace to use whenever I'm out.

now i have about 4 weeks to figure out how to propose. we'll be all over washington that week from federal way to sammamish to wenatchee to twisp. her snowboard stuff is up here now, so somewhere on snow might be a possibility.

rules so far:

not allowed to ask her on her facebook wall.

not allowed to change her name on her safeway card and surprise her at the checkout aisle.

the whole process is so much easier with her parents stoke and support. her mom once drove all the way from sacramento to santa clara to fetch me for the weekend. it really takes all of the "uh oh" and nervousness around her folks out. i would advise all of you to attempt to do the same if you get the chance.

how am i the first to give you props for this?
nicely done! as for the ex... he's just jealous. make her moan louder next time and really milk it for all it's worth. you'll look back and laugh... about 15 seconds later.

The storm was pretty weak in Southern VT. Powder was not found, but me and Ian had an awesome time skiing Magic. 9 cars in the lot all day, maybe a total of 15 people on the mountain.

Fun little place with some SUPER gnarly runs if the weather is right and the snow is there.

steve-o and i schralped up the gnar for sure!

i'm actually bummed i didn't know how gnarly magic is years ago!!! there's some GNAR stuff up there which really suprised me cause bromley and okemo right down the road are pretty tame.....

fun day, legs are toast.

Rowen's boots were made in the fiery pits of hell, it's where all Full Tilts come from. I don't like them either, and I would suggest that he needs to get it figured out because he will be spending some quality time in them this Saturday.

and sunday, if you think it ends saterday, then your wrong.

only those in race plug boots a size or two too small get to go in and take their boots off...

I'm taking a box cutter to the liners tomorrow on Seanpistols solution. Fuck me, I wanted to cry on Jupiter Chair after my first and last hike of the day in spring pow.
