The Stoked Thread

I just got a phone call from the Director of Lodging here at Killington. He told me directly that I can breath easier as I am not getting fired. I am not completely off the hook, but I am not being given the boot.

I will likely be getting a lecture by the President and GM of the resort and have a one on one meeting. Just a huge relief that I am not losing my job.
 
i have a date with a super hottie a week from tomorrow... a few MILFs from the midwest are coming out to Vegas to party and this piece of ass i know is tagging along with them, so we're going to have a notorious time out on the town.

Drew, i'm so stoked. you don't know it yet, but you're going to help me see one of my friends naked and she's really hot, so i'm double stoked.
 
so far this trip has been everything I hoped for. Spent 2 good days in whistler with my sister and friends. then down to baker with Phattim (for those of you who remember) for 3 of my best ski days ever! now just getting ready to leave vancouver to revelstoke for the next week. great people and great skiing! this is better then I could have planned. it depends on the item, but kroger brand honey nut oats or whatever gets soggy super fast, definitely lame. but kroger raisin bran is quite good, and are their version of cocopuffs. safeway brand honey nut cheerios dont suffer the same fate as their kroger counterpart and are also acceptable. and safeway select cookie dough ice cream actually has more chunks of dough than the name brands.

and i spent (wasted) a lot of time in boulder last year and have quite a few friends there in school
 
i can't seem to get that edit to work....it loads for a long time then just says File Not Found...
 
two of my roommates from college are coming over tonight to drink and ski this weekend. one flew up from california so it better damn snow so he doesn't talk shit the whole time.
 
Pumped pandora and played Wii sports this afternoon. The shoulder is really coming along already. I can do low impact bowling with that arm already.

It'll be time to add weight bearing rehab soon.
 
Yesterday I came home to a light stand, diffuser, and 580EX flash. Today I got my cybersyncs and the PC connector for the flash. Life is good, and now I just need to figure out how to shoot with it.
 
the Starbucks girl has a thing for me and i haven't paid for a drink in months. plus, she's this stunning slender blonde from Serbia, so i really can't complain. i'm actually so distracted that i forgot why i originally wanted to post in this thread.
 
there are so many hot girls here that i'm already jaded, seriously. it's retarded how many unnecessarily hot girls there are here. this one's actually a sweet girl, though, which is RARE in this town, so that's the real kicker.
btw, i'm counting the minutes until we roll together. as i was telling you last night, i've recently met a girl who loves the hell out of me and has all these ins at clubs and with bands (she got a call from Bret Michaels while i was hanging out with her the other night just cause he wanted to shoot the shit... i mean, he's a chode, but that equals free drinks and groupies to me... she's basically the real life Penny Lane) and she's going to shows usually 5 or 6 nights a week, so she'll help us find something epic to do on Friday night. she'll at least enable us to have a rollin good time.
 
I skied with Rowen today, and then went to Seattle to see Sam and Scott. It was a terrific day on the slopes with lots of great laughs and then really fun to finish it off with seeing people I hadn't seen forever.
 
Got back my Inorganic Chem midterm. Dominated it. Then I made some nice prints in the darkroom and checked out the Mamiya C220. Went out to an awesome Japanese restaurant, then went out with a bunch of people to one of my favorite bars, hung out, devised ways to scam beers from various people (and were sucessful)...got a few baggies of white widow, and now I'm about to go to bed very satisfied.
 
getting back into NIN in a big way... rediscovering a lot of stuff i had forgotten about and stoked that i still have a fucked up and morose enough outlook on my own life and the way the world treats itself that it's still relevant. i've been camped out at Starbucks for the past three days listening to his shit and i'm sooo stoked that he put a ton of his tracks on the NIN site. lovin that filthy vibe it leaves me with...
 
the hot European chick at Starbucks is an electro-head... i'm in love. we're going to an Oakenfold show next Saturday. stoked!!!!

she's moving back to Serbia in May, though... bummer.
 
Move back to Alaska is now officially March 6! Can't wait to see some of my best friends again. Almost nobody up there knows I'm coming, which calls for extra-stokage. Less drama. The major downside is having to leave Ninja for a number of months. I'm going to miss my baby.

Stoked for the NBA All-Star game tomorrow. Hope to see Roy get some good playing time in.

"The Shark Chronicles" by John A. Musick and Beverly McMillan

"The Wild Trees" by Richard Preston (author of "The Hot Zone")

"The World Without Us" by Alan Weisman

"Ship of Gold" by Gary Kinder

Also reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini (author of "The Kite Runner") which is, so far, just as good as the other novel. Definitely really glad I've gotten super into reading again.

Oh yeah! And I'm super excited that this guy who's like my little brother, Tyler (he worked for me at the aquarium) is coming to visit me with his friend, Pat, next Wednesday. We're going to the Luckyiam show, and a bunch of the Sandpeople will be there. Yeah!!!!
 
Yeah, I'm a little over halfway done. I'm reading six books right now, so I tend to read a bunch of one and then move on to another and then go back, haha. Definitely love this book, though. I've been addicted to good non-fiction lately, and my parents are, too. We mail or bring each other books a lot.
 
Have you read three Cups of Tea? I highly recommend it...honestly Ive been whoring the book for a few months now.
 
Haha, that book is pretty much required reading for all MSU students because Greg Mortenson is from Bozeman. It's a really cool project though; maybe I can get him to send me over there to take photos in a few years...
 
I made $340 last night. What?! Yeah.

My boss told me that she could have filled two other restaurants with the amount of people she turned away last night. Thye opened their restaurant in the perfect spot. Tourists are tired of the shitty restaurants around here, and now that there's a kick ass one, with great food, they're flocking here like hungry hippos. Its awesome.
 
Nope! Honestly, I've never heard of it (I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to everything these days), but I'll definitely go pick up a copy since I'll have plenty of reading time in the near future. Thanks for the recommendation!

On a related note: does anyone know if we already have a book thread in here? I know there's already a book cult, but it's been dead for over a year.
 
I think there was one buried somewhere, but it should definitely be revived. Or you guys can just read everything that's been written by Hubert Selby Jr. and Ayn Rand.
 
i had possibly the most epic night of my life last night. basically, my day was TOTALLY shit... finally got rid of a girl i've been kinda seeing, got in a huge fight with my mom and she ended up hanging up on me (which she's never done before), and started drinking by 2:30 or so. well, by about 3:30-4 i was out of JD and decided to head to the Strip to see my favorite waitress, but she didn't get on until 6, so i decided to kill some time at Starbucks. well, there's a girl who works here who's been hooking me up with drinks for a long time and she wrote her name and phone number on my cup when she brought it over to me and we started texting until she got off work. description- about 6', dirty blonde, helluva body, blue eyes that just make you melt, and this insanely sexy Serbian accent. plus, she's a total electro-head, so we drove around for a while blasting the shit outta Daft... and she tokes and rolls, yesssssss. so, after she got outta work, she ends up insisting on taking me out to eat- other than Les picking up the tab a few times while we were both in Reno, i don't know that i've ever let a girl take me out- and took me to this amazing sushi joint. we had sake, a few different rolls, it was awesome. then we went back to my place and hung out until about 5am... i'll spare you the details, but i'll say she gave me the best backrub i've ever had in my life.
any surprise i'm back at Starbucks already? ;P
 
Dunno how many are still on the edge of their seat with my gripping love/life saga, but yeah. Last night was good. Woke up in the 9's bed this morning. Shes.... hot. I think I really like her. Especially now that the cheating this is mostly resolved and explained.

But more fun to come, I get to go ski with her tonight, hang out in a Barvarian wonderland, wake up with a hangover and ski another day with them. See you guys in a few days!
 
dude, cheating is never ok. not trying to burst your bubble, but if she cheated on you, you're worth better.
