The Stoked Thread

stoked that i learned rodeo 5s this weekend, that spong learned kangys today, and that i did the run kristi was practicing on my first hit of the day on those jumps, haha

I hate the internet download restrictions at my university house...

Im stoked though that my school internet will allow me to download certain video files from a certain website at crazy fast speeds...woo! saves me nuking my bandwidth at home.

So far in class i have downloaded:

The Roots live from NYC (disk 1 and 2, music)

3 BBC Science and Islam documentaries

History Channel Documentary on Genghis Khan

how much of a nerd am i...hahaha

^I heart my universities direct connect hub, well it's "unofficial"..

Soo many movies and music available at super quick download speeds.

My boss came in to work today when three of my co-wokers and I were loading freight into some freezers. We had some contractors come last night and put this nice wood finish up around the ceiling, classing up the place. My boss turns to one of the guys and says "Sporting some wood today, huh?" He totally didnt understand why we all turned and looked at him funny.

Just stumbled my way through my first ptex job ever, but it came out great and the gaping hole in my Hellbent is now filled (the rock actually gouged the wood, I've never had a core shot that deep).

Goggle tan is getting going quite nicely.

Groomers were ripping today, such fun.

And I'm going sledding on Friday for the first time, we're going to try and Hunting Yeti it and find some booter action and pow to ski. That is, if I don't spend the whole time getting stuck.

Oh, and my new Banshee Pros are the best boots I've ever been in, and don't blink at anything. Straightlines, moguls at high speed, park, they kill it everywhere.

Yeah. If you were into the core, the ptex will fracture into a bunch of little bits, and then just fall out over time.

I speak from personal experience, lol.

Ptex-ing is fun though!

X-Games Day 1 entry on the JO videoblog was a bangin one minus the athletes having no love for the course. Jon and his video dude crank out some awesome up-to-date coverage on everything...its sweet

So after a year of indecisiveness and general indifference, I have finally quit architecture. I will always have an interest in it and study the general principles and theories (as well as notable buildings), but have decided that a career there just isn't for me.

So now I am signed up for another photo class and a couple general core classes and am looking for some kind of job on campus that involves writing and/or literature. I'm interested in photography, english (probably creative writing or editing of some sort), and philosophy, and I just need to decide what my major and minor will be. This will definitely be taking me down a different path in life, but I find it relatively easy to embrace when I think of sitting in front of autocad most days and talking to clients I probably wouldn't agree with the rest.

Am I jumping to conclusions and making assumptions? Yeah, probably, but I think in the long run this decision will be for the better. Rather than thinking of finding a career I am passionate about, I am going to study what I really love and think about a real job later--or never!

i went to costco today!!!!!!

got new set of all terrain tires (cant afford snow tires), good deal me thinks, and they are sweet on my skating rink of a road which is what i care about

they have cookie dough in 5 pound tubs.

and i got a gallon jar of pickles for $3.49 and they are quite crunchy and deliscious

in summary costco is awesome.

I went to the Blazers vs. Cavaliers game on Tuesday night, and it was AWESOME! We were six rows behind the Blazers net... yep, six. Met a lot of awesome people, drank $8 pints of Blue Moon, saw myself on TV, and screamed my heart out. The Blazers lost, but it was a better game than we expected, for sure. We went to the Dub afterwards and got pretty wasted for free, haha. I had a two-hour conversation with a dude the same age as my mom about 49ers legends.

I didn't end up having to get my brain surgery yet... Apparently, my infection went away FINALLY (strong ass antibiotics that made me feel like death for a month), and the aneurysm isn't large enough to require immediate surgery, thankfully.

My training's been going awesome. I have the best trainer in the world, and I feel like I'm finally progressing more with running.

Some photos from the game:

These were our seats:

My friend is back w/her ex cause he's the best ski tuner in town and now she's trying to get him to learn boot fitting. Stoked cause she pulls this kinda stuff all the time and it's funny...and I don't have to bring my tuning gear to crusty butt. (Mandy, don't tell Tim)

Base weld is definitely the way to go. Since you ptex'd it, wax over it with the coldest wax you can find (Swix CH4 and lower). Scrape the cold stuff, then throw a piece of fiberlene paper between the iron and the base and let the iron set on there with a little motion. The hard wax will add an extra layer of protection and seal up the beading/chunking that's going to occur when it gets super cold. Seal it like that every time you wax.

I'll do that. It is already falling apart, so I wouldn't be surprised if I can just get it base welded once everything comes out.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

just started listening to Narrow Stairs about 8 months after it was released... wish i hadn't waited so long to pick it up, but stoked on Death Cab again.
i've also started reading Pitchfork on a daily basis after a year

fucking posted this shit without me even touching my computer... wtf?
anyway...
...after a year hiatus and i'm stoked on some of the weird shit i've been finding.

hmmmm.... maybe you should head somewhere like Tahoe for some filming in a week or so... i know a kid with a GL2 he could bring up from Vegas.

that reminds me...
MIA on being nominated for an Oscar for the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack- "This is a great honor. Thank you to all the people who are supporting us and the making of a real story of a slumdog millionaire…maybe I can afford to book Dave Chappelle at the baby shower now. Thank you again; My mum wants everyone to know what wonderful news this is for her."

i've been completely sober since Sunday- the longest i've gone in three years- and it's killing me. luckily, i've remembered how much fun it is to be the hugest asshole possible to the minions in NSG. JD will probably ban me... again... but whatever, i get to smoke, drink, and put yayo up my nose tomorrow, so i'm ok with it.
stoked on having a personal shooting gallery- NSG.

Well, today was stoke and no stoke, i got to shred some big wide open lines at mount bohemia chilled with some friends, and got to hang out for a little bit with a gnarly dude CF introduced me to a few years back and got a chance to talk on the phone with some really old acquaintances and pseudo family types. so, rock on ph.

always stay positive, do your own thing, and vibes to all ph.

Cleaning my room, and I found a bunch of stuff from the third grade on my bookshelf. No idea it was there, but when I get to back to my scanner in Tacoma, there will be some seriously epic pictures.

I haven't written in cursive outside of my signature since I fumbled through the last part of the ACT that requires it, but damn, I was pretty fluent in the stuff back in grade school. The spelling is absolutely hilarious, and I did nothing but draw pictures of forts with radar dishes and jets and tanks and snowmobiles in writing class.

Deeply buried on my bookshelf was a book called "The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible", which I have no doubt would send Scott into an epileptic seizure in about 2 seconds. It's such horrible Christian Right propoganda, I can't wait to take it back to school with me. The Pokemon books I unearthed are going to my roommate, who can still name most of them, and I am totally taking my Lego collection, because dudes who play with Legos get all the cute chicks.

Also, I just picked up the latest Sweatshop and Death Cab releases, and am very stoked on both of them. Good music to listen to.

I remember those legos in your display case with the massive pile of swimming trophies.

I'll bring mine next time, and we can make an epic Lego ON3P city.

haha^ at first I thought you meant the Suicide Girls & I was like no way! Those chicks are way grimmer than the NSG....but then I thought it out, and that didn't make any sense unless... they were at the after parties in Aspen increasing their Pro-Ho status.
