The Stoked Thread

my friend had a ferret. everytime we'd visit her at UCSantaBarbara the thing would be running around all night (be a fucking nocturnal) making noise and smelling (being a fucking rodent). she loved it though. to each their own.

Either of you eager beavers want to do some of my work?

School is school right?!?! :P It will be good practice!

If you don't value experience...what do you value exactly?

ps.

James Nachtwey was one of the winners of the TED prize this year which makes me stoked.

I just watched his documentary titled "War Photographer" and it just blew me away. This is the guy behind the lens of a lot of famous 'war zone' photographs and in his movie and in his TED speech he adds such a personal and introspective reality check to pictures that already blown you away that it just makes you want to scream at everything. I can't imagine how this man sleeps at night from what he has experienced in order to get some of these pictures....

Props to a man who takes the notion of 'taking one for the team' to the extreme in order to keep the rest of us informed on the cruel realities of these warzones.

Stoked that nips got an invite to perform at the Austrian Embassy in Washington Dc for a Red Bull extravaganza as like a exhibition sort of thing welcoming winter and he is the only skier of six invited to throw down on an elevated scaffolded ice rink snow contraption. The kid is super stoked and so am I

Major props!

It's super important, imo, that we have solid elementary educators, those kids are like sponges and soak up every last bit of information you can give them.

haha didn't you check out the site when it was posted in the mod forum? i saw steve's name on the list even!

Best and worst trends in skiing right now?

The best trend I have to say is this whole act like a G...

LOL

Agreed!

And I know I've said it before ash, but get certified for special education as well, dual degree if at all possible as well. It is the biggest boost you can get to landing that position after graduating.

UPDATE:
Sarah says the fling is over with this text message:"you were a very fun fling and you opened my eyes a bit"
AND we're hanging out this weekend.

AND she thinks her boyfriend Googled my name.
AND if you google "Mike Rogge" a bunch of Newschoolers.com shit comes up.

EPIC!

I think what he means is its good that PH is private, or her honey would be able to read what you've been sharing =)

^Nah, nothing will come up.

I am SO stoked. One of my bestestest friends ever, Brooks, was down here from Alaska yesterday for work (graphic design). We hung out from 930pm until 8am, and it was sooooo fun! We got shit-faced, played pool, caught up a LOT, and discussed some really deep stuff. I miss him so much, but he might be moving to Portland, which I'd be super stoked on!!! But yeah... yay for seeing old friends.

yeah I did. I jsut didn't anything would really come of it. I met that kid andrew years ago when Steven was doing the NextSnow All Stars thing at Steamboat.

The reason I am stoked is that he is actually doing his own email and making his own contacts and all of that stuff you would expect a kid to do. I spoiled him since I was suggesting/handling stuff since he was 10. I am just stoked that it is now his thing and not mine as evidenced by that little interview.

ps: Ethan (kamikaze) called me last night to tell me he is in Portland (actually about five minutes from my house) for a week and is moving up to Govy afterwards. We have plans to hang out this week, yay!!! I haven't seen him since WSI 2005 when we smoked joints together, haha. I miss him and am stoked to see him again!

if they get the durability right and somehow manage to lighten the material a bit, i'd be all over that shit in a heart beat.
