The Stoked Thread

Just got back from a sweet fiesta at a friend's house where she made kick ass enchiladas and margaritas! We also broke in her new hookah, which was quite fun. I also pulled off the impossible and had a somewhat insightful conversation about Nietzsche and God (these two don't belong together), so overall it was a great night.

Oh yeah, I'm still kind of drunk too. Me and Jose had a good time together!

STOKE

since i'll really have no excuse, you talked me into it ;P

and i never said i was planning to ski at Vail; i just said i have a buddy who's going to be living there. this isn't my first rodeo...

Stoked on an awesome going away party for a buddy last night. 20 of us met at the local ski hill he's worked at for years, and made the hike up for beers and buds at sunset. He made a great speech and it really sunk in that one of my best friends, who between skiing, kayaking, biking and general fun I've probably spent almost every weekend of the last 2.5 years with, is leaving and things will be different. Then headed back into town were almost 40 people showed up at the bar to wish him off. Few of us made it our mission to send him off right and got him so hammered he had to be carried off to the car at the end of the night.

That's It That's All is hands down the best ski/snowboard/skate/wake/crack smoking/action sports movie i have ever seen. JESUS TITTY FUCKING CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a gem indeed.

i need to go up to the north shores of lake supior and camp out for a while. i heard its absolutely amazing up there.

damn you are just THAT good. :)

My housemate came home the other night after also working as a server, her manager gave her some chocolate and didn't tell her, till after, that it had mushrooms in it! haha... luckily she only ate half, and not only did her job but made a shit ton of money that night.

Saturday night - watch Turbo with friends; Level 1 killllled it!

Sunday - Big rail jam at a town festival - Invite only contest, I won in the rain, won a pair of skis. They're too small so I'll have to sell them but I'm stoked that I won!

Monday - My Salomon SPKs came today! YAY!

Stoke level on one to ten - 11, but minus 1 because I have a headache...

My copy of The Demon by Hubert Selby Jr just came in today! Stoked despite the fact that it will inevitably send me spiraling into depression until a good month or so after I finish it. I fucking LOVE Selby!

stoked on my girlfriend's dad's hookups.

Saw the Alouettes play yesterday

Canadians Vs. Detroit tommorow

James Blunt in a few weeks...

All for $0. Score.

stoked on one of the best weekends of the summer.

Drove all friday from about 7am up past killington and into burlington by around 4pm. Hit the magic hat brewery for LOTS O SAMPLES and 5 growlers. Then over to UVM for the meatheads show, after a little confusion we found the theatre and I met up with thegreyarea for the show. Bounced after the movie and made it to the forks Maine by 2:30am, then proceeded to get shitfaced till around 4:30. Rise and shine Sat. for our first taste of the river. It was warm out but raining and the river was about 65 degrees or so. We had a blast in shit like this

(stock photo not us)then had an on river beer break. We rafted through the lower section which is more tame and got a look for the kayaking the next day.

I wasn't about to try that nasty shit in the kayak so the second day we shot the upper in rafts and kayaked down the lower half which is mostly class 2 and a good 3. The rafting was awesome once again and the kayaking was cool while it lasted. We got in the boats and paddled out I tried a few rolls and things went well. We shot down most of it with a local in an inflatable kayak showing us around. After the nasty 3 we were in some pretty wilds class 2's and I was paddling hard when....MY PADDLE SNAPPED IN HALF. It was a shit cheap paddle and I never should have brought it, nonetheless there I was rowing like shit with one half a paddle like a mini canoe. I fought my way to the side without incident and climbed back in the raft kayak and all.

We checked out some sweet waterfalls later and then proceeded to get piss drunk again that night. We camped all weekend in the rain, which was pretty awesome actually cause we managed to start fires every night.

We also snuck in some 2am 4x4 action while wicked drunk, it's a miracle we didn't break anything. It was just me and my crazy friend who lives up there so I didn't wanna get stuck. We pounded it pretty hard, so hard we could hardly drink while driving.

All in all it fucking ruled like no other weekend this summer. Some blurry rainy drunken pics to come.

^ hahaha 5 growlers! head for the hills was 100 times better baked than drunk, baked, and other.

got the hook up to move to south america in a year or 2. time to pay off student loans.

The Pats/Bills games will definitely be a lot more interesting this year than last. Not so sure I'll be wearing a Brady jersey in Buffalo this year. Maybe just a t-shirt under my jacket haha

Thursday Night: Rain and snow showers likely, mainly before 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

That's for elevations of 2000 feet and on up.

I had a dream last night that the first snow was happening, and so I started dancing in it in the street. Walking by was a little boy and his parents, so I got the little boy to dance with me. It was pleasant.

So it snows on Mars, meaning I could move there and shred pow. Another great option. Judging by the Bill Waterson drawings, it should look pretty similar to parts of Utah.

Southern NY: Thursday Night: A slight chance of rain before 2am, then a slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Just the fact that it says snow is awesome!

It's snow likely here. I'm a bit bummed that I won't be in town to see it happen. I want to be here for the first flakes!
