yeah, i'm already laughing my ass off at some of the responses and it's only been up a short while. everyone loves home-wrecking drama (if it's happening to someone else), so i can see a lot of people checking out that thread and responding.
I've only boarded a tiny eeny bit. I had my ski boots on and strapped into my bfs board. I love to skateboard and know my knees aren't going to last forever so I need to start mixing it up.
have you ever seen pictures of skiers? they're rich as fuck. even seen a pic of snowboarders? that's right, poor stoners. poor stoners can't afford expensive boards, so they stopped making them, but rich skiers buy expensive skis all the time, so they make a lot more of them.
Check out the Arbor boards...seem like a sweet product (the gf researches everything to death) and they have some legit sustainability concerns and programs
I got a free surfboard the other day, getting ready for the move to Florida. A friend of mine had it and didn't need it so he gave it to me. I'm sure it's nothing sweet, but it'll get me started anyway. So I'm stoked to get down to the Gulf and learn to surf! Hurricane season is looking like a pretty fun time.
had a few drinks, rushed back to work for the Office Olympics only to
find a garbage can full of Magic Hat and Long Trail and everyone
drinking! I didn't do ANYTHING but play shoes, volleyball, and race a
soap box car.
The funny part is, I came in this morning and everyone's really quiet. It's that awkward next day feeling like getting trashed and sleeping w/your best friend. I love it cause I'm screwing w/everyone.
My gf absolutely loves her Arbor board. The also happen to make the sweetest t-shirts ever. Bamboo, SOOOO comfortable. She also happened to be down in LA and visited their factory (just by chance, it happened to be around the corner from her hotel). She mentioned that she's from Canada and rides Whistler all the time and they were so stoked they gave her a whole bunch of stickers, including on of those truck size ones you put on a heli or something. It's huge!
i'm having a private dance party with myself to Rihanna's "Disturbia" and i'm fairly stoked. before anyone starts hating, fuck you- you won't openly admit it, but you think it's a tasty, catchy tune, too. well, my two girls, Lesley and Mary Jane, are partying with me. we get down a lot.
Going to D-Structure today... fucking so stoked. You guys know this store? they have new school skiing and free ride equipment, clothing and accessories plus some sick ass art. yayyyaaahhh! But i'm scurrred cuz i know i'm going to spend too much money.
I remember going to the original when it was this tiny ass shop in mtl. Was a super chill place with all the newest gear. sucks the canadian side of the business went under. should have stuck to local
I just got back from a 6 day backpacking trip across the beartooths. I am sore, tired, aching all over, and still a little numb. Nevertheless, it was one of the coolest things I have done in my life and I would head back up to do it again in a heartbeat. I'll try to get up a TR of some sort tomorrow if I get time.
how the hell did they close the montreal store but keep the san fran one open? i mean wtf the montreal one was the original and i'd think there's a lot more rollerbladers and freeskiers in montreal than san fran
^ Think you're right. The SF store looks more like a lifestyle boutique from the pics I've seen. Not a knock. You have to go with what's going to sell.
Props to Felix for sticking w/rollerblading. Arlo Eisenberg was right when he said a sport's gotta die before it can progress to a new level of riding. BarelyDead blew me away.
