The Stoked Thread

I know, haha. I got lost for a bit, ended up on 28 I think, and then took the road that goes up the hill past the Bellayre entrance. I found some private "road" (basically 4x4 trail) that brought me up to a cell tower which was at far side of Highmount opposite Bellayre (south end? lost my bearings up there).

I'm totally down for Highmount if it gets some snow this winter, the place looked sweet!

Oh man it is sweet. the only issue is getting cars parked down there so you dont have to make the walk back to the entrance of Belleayre where the bus can snag you if you toss a dollar at them

Went to The Faint Concert last night... and seriously danced my freakin ass off. It was so much fun, the venue was saweeet, i had an awesome spot with room to dance, and in the end i was literally DRENCHED in sweat. :D yay for dancing like you don't give a fuuuuuck. I was stoked too because this random girl came up to me at then end and said you're such a good dancer! (don't mean to toot my own horn but it was super sweet) :) yay for random people giving compliments. Woooooo i'm still dancing in my head. hahaha.

haha... couldn't think of a better reason? but i'm sure you could think of another reason... or should i say excuse. haha

but i agree... big fan of the boobs (gotta be honest, not so into the fake ones tho)

It's going to be super fun. Plus it involves Ed making a badass breakfast in the morning, blazin, skating for a few hours and then dirnking the rest of the day.

We are going to get through this pub crawl with no broken teeth, no broken glasses (uh prob not), no broken windshields, and no rides in the back of cop cars... (the last pub crawl, Save Second Base, didn't go so smooth.)

the fuck difference does it make? if i can touch em... thats real enough for me, if they're big, perky and nicely shaped then i am a happy man, end of discussion

well ajay... we all have our own preferences. I'm not trying to hate on fake boobies, but for my taste... if you're laying on your back and they're still standing straight up to the sky... uhhh not cute. just my opinion.

and yes we all know you're shallow. ;)

Just got back from such a sick longboard cruise with the guys.

SUUUUUUUPER stoked on how sweet night riding in the city is.

i was mistaken about 10 times today for being an athlete, it was funny...and i met a swedish swimmer, basically my future wife.

I had a great chat with my best friend this morning. I actually don't really refer to her as my best friend, since we've become so distanced over the past two years (just lives going in separate directions - different focuses) - but the chat was great, and felt really home like. Comforting. A good smile. I miss her a lot.

That's sweet...I've lived 2500 miles from most of my closest friends (from growing up, anyway) for the past 4 years and it's always good to get a chance to hang out again once in a while.

Well, the sad part is that we live in the same area. 10 minutes from each other. Even worked the same job together for the past 8 years. Though we've both decided to quit. Which was the basis of our conversation. We also had our sons 20 days apart. We should really get them together more, its just so hard when we're both so busy =(

But, stoked I'm hiking Giant Ledge today with Bangor.

I found a 125gb file hiding in my computer that had no purpose and was the cause of much frustration over the past 2 weeks. This hunk of lard slowed down my comp so much that it froze and i almost lost all summers worth of work.

Deleting that badboy and seeing my comp come back up to full speed is sweeeeeeeeeet!

unfortunately not.

Just one file of an unknown type weighing in at 125.5 GB

It was werid...

sooo... i'm still learning the ropes, about pro skiers etc etc. just found out that my good friend from middle and high school but whom i haven't seen in a long time is a pretty legit pro skier. ha! JT Holmes

holy shit!

So I have a longboard push race tomorrow. 13 Kms I just cleaned & greased my bearings. Then I started fucking around with the way my trucks were mounted on my drop deck. I mounted the back truck on the bottom of the board giving the back truck a raised profile over the front. I'm not convinced it works any better, the greased bearings are running fast, it seems it takes more work to push the board around with it higher off the ground. I think i'm going to put it back to the original set up but it was fun tinkering around with it for a bit. The prizes are a complete DH board set up so I'm hoping to do well. I used to run 10 km years ago. I've never timed myself on a 13 Km circuit but I have no doubts that i'll be able to finish without ever had training for the event.

Yo if you put too much grease in the bearings it actually slows you down for a while and makes it super hard to push.

I made that mistake a couple months ago when I cleaned my bearings out and regreased em.

I soaked the in Gasoline for about 1/2 an hour then I dried them out and put in some Bone Swiss Speed Cream the stuff works like magic, it's calling for rain tomorrow I'm hoping for a low turn out :)

Stoked on going hiking again, which Ashley will tell you I obviously haven't done in awhile, haha. (I pretty much almost died. In my defense I was carrying a shit ton of camera gear....)

Also stoked on pictures at the summit; photos to follow in a week or so when I get the panorama's stitched together.

Yeah I use the same cream and I would use only 1 drop per bearing if I wanted to race i think. I used 4 each (LOL!) the first time and got dominated with slow wheels and the second time I used 2 and it still left a touch slow but WAY better.

I would 1 say 1 a piece because your racing though...bitches would be suuuuuuuuuper quick

More than the recommended 2 drops, will it build up a resin in the bearings? I coated them pretty good then ran them fast to get them running smoooth

it slows them down thats for sure. I found my bearings spun fastest/longest right after i cleaned them (no lube). When i added 4 drops it felt like there was some molases in my bearings or something...super slow.

So i just use one drop now (like recommended) which lightly coats the bearins for protection but lets them run with the least amount of resistance. IMO, works way better then more lube.

Less is more you could say :P

Well shoot i better pick it up then....

Don't mind me if i just sweep up the J here and ooooh got that T over there.... vacuum up the HO ohhh yep ok found em, that L was hiding tho, better wipe up the M with some soap ok all done... ooops no the ES is still somewhere, right in front of my freakin nose, ha! ok gottem. All picked up. ;)

Did i mention that i took a yoga class in LA with .... oh no i don't want to loose anything else.

So the push race went off. Great weather. A bit of a dispute at the end over the finishings not that it really mattered. When I was coming in on the closing stretch the cops made people walk in the last KM because someone (A longboarder) got hit by a car at an intersection. They were fine... It happened just before I got to that point there, So it affected my time pretty badly, I tied for 7th and a french kid disregarded the cop and skated to the finish line changing the finishing places, and my time was skewed 37 minutes with the walk, i reckon I would have finished about 33-34 mins had I been able to skate to the end. I was saving my juice for a sprint push but it didn't go down. I got a sweet T-shirt out of it.

Actually some skier named Brain who's on ns althought I don't know his username took the mens -18 title with 31 mintues.

Almost every top finisher was using the big zigs
