The Stoked Thread

bought Daft Punk Alive 2007 on CD two days ago.

BEST. LIVE. ALBUM. EVER.

i saw them at Lollapalooza last summer and the Alive album is everything i remember it to be and soooo much more. definitely going to have to pick up the DVD as soon as robotly possible. or wait, am i human afterall? i figured recently i've been to around 130 live shows and i have never felt the physical need to sit down so i could better absorb what i was witnessing... until i saw Daft. they blew my fucking mind... but thankfully i didn't sit down- i danced with 60,000 screaming fans while the robots gave us the show of our lives. that show LITERALLY changed my life, my outlook on music, and their music has changed my entire attitude towards life. trust me, i know how cliche that sounds, but i'm as serious as a heart attack- if everyone smoked weed and listened to Daft Punk, the world would be a much, much better place.

so, if you're looking for a CD that will blow your mind and overwhelm you with excitement, ellation, and love, pick up Alive 2007. it will be the best $20 you ever spend, i promise.

btw, i'm 100% sober... just for anyone thinking "how high is this mofo right now?"

Ahhh honey I missed you too and the rest of my fellow PHers.

Found out my little bro (not youngest, but younger, 23) smokes mad weedage, and stogs. Crazy how I never knew. He just wasn't the type in my eyes. He gave me a joint before going back to LI. :)

Just home from a sick set of shows at "Blues fest". Started off with some Infected Mushroom, and intermission of Snoop Dogg and finished off with an insane show by Primus! All for freeeeeeee :) Plus many beers for hooking a buddy up with passes, and sold a spare for $15 so def came out on top. Day even started out good with a early morning kayaking session at the ruins, followed by a few hours in the sun working on our Flugtag entry. Totally great day

Same here. went to the beach today, had a good crew, as well as my friends hot cousin, and hung out, swam, all that jazz, then came back at like 4, went to his camp, drove the boat, went tubing, hung out some more, it was the perfect summer day

finally got all moved in to my new house, its only 2 blocks from campus. i love it, and it smells nice

pretty sure our house we had last year had a dead animal of sorts in the garage somewhere. it smelled horrible, but was really well hidden. crafty bastards

I had a great night. I hung out with a very old childhood friend of mine. We hung out every summer when we were little, in our quaint little town. There used to be so many of us, kids in that town. I haven't seen her since about 16/17 when we started loosing touch. Spent the whole night reminiscing about everything. Brought back soooooo many memories. :)

I'm hiking Giant Ledge on Slide Mountain with another NSer this weekend. Slide Mountain is the highest peak in the Catskills. This hike is 7.45 miles long, and I hear is quite steep in some parts. And all along are rock ledges to look out on. I'm excited for the challenge! :)

Dope. Hiking mountains owns. Even if they are east coast, it is still a blast to be on the top, under your own power.

Didn't realize the Catskills rose to that much elevation either.

Yeah, I believe it's 4,100.

"Popular in part but noticeably less traveled north of Panther Mountain, this section of trail provides the hiker with a sense of solitude."

That's the last stretch, I hope I make it that far :)

I watched a few live clips from the show and holyyyy fucckkkkk.

I've honestly never seen such a set up in my life. Just...incredible...fuck.

Whoever found a way to synch all that shit, and make it look that good deserves WAY more recognition.

I'm without a doubt picking up the DVD to keep in my car, do you know when it'll be available?

ok all this daft punk talk has gotten me curious...currently streaming the cd right now...74 minutes woo!

I bet the bass at a place like that would make your heart explode.

It now on my to-do list.

Stoked because my on3p's are done! Scott is conspiring against my summer.

Also stoked because I think I'm going to start stretching my ears soon. It's going to be painfully fun!

So, I never learned the piano, growing up i could play heart and soul, but that was about it. As some of you may or may not know i live in a 14 person artist collective, and one of my housemates asked me if i wanted to learn how to play a song. He plays a lot of songs by Yann Tiersen (beautiful!) and there was one song i found particularly moving. i told him, "if i could just play that one song really well, i'll be so happy" so he started teaching me. At first I didn't even think it was possible, because my fingers couldn't reach a full octave, but he told me to keep practicing so i did and voila! now i can play it :) and am ready for the next song. So inspiring, and such a great symbol of the power of perseverance! Now if i could just learn some tricks on the skateboard :P
