The Stoked Thread

Yeah, it worked :)

Also, how big is your part? If it's big enough I'm gonna order the channel right now, and cancel it tomorrow haha.

Ok Drew, looks like I will be stalking you on the TV tonight :)

Cost me $2.95. I expect that to be returned in some way or another.

Im considering taking Thursday off and heading to the lake with one of my friends to chill on his boat.

I need an excuse to get outta work and to explain the sunburn Im likely to get. Any ideas?

They're not stupid ajay! Hahaha and Ive used almost every excuse possible: explosive diarrhea, headache, food poisoning...the whole 9. Now I need something good to use

see normally i'd say, the more grapic the excuse, the better, people tend to not question that....but if you've already used explosive diarrhea.....hrm.

don't get a sunburn, and stick with boring old food poisoning.

one time at Dave's work, a guy called in with a nosebleed, said he couldn't make it for the night. that was awesome enough he didn't get yelled at the next day, just made fun of.

I shaved my sons head. I was going for a mohawk, but he wouldn't sit still after 5 minutes so I just had to finish it up. But he's so damn cute!

And my house smells of beautiful lilacs that we picked.

Oh, and Lesley, tell them that you have an emergency gyno appt cause something is wrong. And you don't have to go into any further explanation because they won't ask :P

GENIUS! Except how would I explain the sunburn? I mean its going to happen. Plus I need color. You saw me...IM WHITE!

what about:

you were outside climbing this afternoon and you ended up with heat stroke so you'll feel sick tomorrow :P

so wed afternoon she goes "climbing" and gets burnt/heatstroke....the burn would still be there friday :P

Wow...Triscuits and cheese is fucking $!

I havent had this since i was a kid and im loving it now...woo!

Spent the weekend in our new apartment in Rutland, and I absolutely love it.

HUGE place. Lots of room for just the 2 of us. Perfect location too. Bummed to be back in Buffalo for now, but just 2 more months here with a week up there now and again. Time will fly by.

Beautiful weather here for the next few days so I can go kill the singletrack with the bike, as I haven't been out in over a week.

Sweet baby jesus, I'm having that topsheet methinks.

I've grilled at least one of my meals for the past 6 days, consecutive. Having a gas grill is wonderful. Burgers at 10:30 last night after work, yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaah.

although i support any form of grilling, i must argue the charcoal point!

argue argue argue win! charcoal is better.

hahaha but yeah i feel you right before i came home i was grilling pretty much every night. i think between me and my buddy we fed like 50 different people we knew over the course of last week, just randomly hahahah.

i want my grilllllllll back!

GF passed 2nd medicine. I look forward to sleep. I have been so unbelievably sleep deprived for the past 10 days I don't know how I am still functioning. 5 hours of sleep in the past 2 days, I can't wait for bed tonight. I am very very happy.

Also, 8 days till Montréal Grand Prix!

Charcoal is infinitely better, but its a helluva lot more work than gas. Gas is just to easy, and I'm so tired at the end of my day. At least I have a packet of apple chips in there.

I like to put up with the charcoal hassle, it lessens my grilling experience so much to have to turn a knob and push button to light. I have to build my fire and wait for coals, maybe I've just cooked on a campfire one too many times. I have never and will never own a propane grill.

Oh and stoked to be grilling with my step-brother this weekend since he is flying in from nevada.

Stoked for 2 reasons:

1) on lunch I designed a product that NS could produce and that I think might sell. Kinda unique too. Going to make a digital prototype design tonight hopefully.

2) Just found a sweet book I want to read called "Architecture of Authority" which deals with the presence and power exerted by architectural designs and the political influence they have had on our society. It adds a dash of politics to the mix too which could be interesting or repetative...either way though it sounds super cool to me :)

^whats the product ryno?

stoked that I scored an A for my pre exam test

stoked that I'm gonna be skiing in 15 days! just got 2 pesky little exams to get out of the way first haha

Aight here it goes...be honest with what you think of it.

I designed a 4 layer, DIY pole skin system to be made using the new NS sticker machine. Hopefully Jason will be able to cut the pieces I need tomorrow and get them sent off to me so I can assemble it in real life and see if its practical.

Here is the proto layout:

In the blank spot you can put whatever colour 'newschoolers.com' sticker you want and if your super hardcre you can sharpie in whatever honeycombs you want with whatever colours to customize even more.

This is the first design I have finished...I have a couple other ideas down on paper but I want to see if anyone thinks this is a good idea/practical before making them digital.

The upside is that to make em would probably be super cheap...im hoping they could sell for under 5 bucks but I'm not sure thats 100% possible. Either way they would be super cheap.

Thoughts?

If popular it could be a way to locate other ns'ers around the mtn. everyones poles would be coloured/patterned different but the base design would be enough to spot em out.

No word yet on a "no poles" version...
