The Stoked Thread

GROSS, which one? You have such a nice deck, haha.

Dan, I have 74389274839 pairs of goggles, and I would be more than willing to let a pair or two go if you need one. What fits your face well?

I'm stoked!!! My parents are in town and did some apartment hunting for me while I was in class this morning. I've been doing some on my own, but I'm so bogged down with school, that's it's been hard to make time. I've finally got my own place, and it's pretty fucking sick. Gated community and all, hah. I move in tomorrow! My friend bought my drinks tonight, and I now officially have TWO bartenders at the Dub who spoil me (charge me for two drinks, when I really have ten or more on my tab.. I like to buy rounds for my friends).

Stoked that I'm somehow managing to do really well in school with all of this crap happening. My training is going AWESOME, and I'm now on a new diet (except I can't seem to stop drinking beer... yikes). My parents took True and me out to dinner tonight, and it was AWESOME. $125 for the four of us, eep.

I am soossososoososooooo much happier now that I'm not living or having to deal with Jimmy. I can't even explain it, but my life has made a complete turn-around. I'm really happy now, and I have an awesome boyfriend who cares as much for me as I do him (and shows it), so life is good shit!

Oh yeah, and I won Flogging Molly tickets for March 13, yay!!!!

A PUSH(ed) DHX 5.0 coil? Sexy!

Got my new Giro race helmet and Giro goggles Friday night.

WON MY FUCKING SKIER-CROSS RACE ON SUNDAY IN THE POURING RAIN!!!!!! WALKED AWAY WITH A NEW IPOD NANO!!! pretty stoked right now!!!

i am also stoked that my dad's house is almost complete from remodeling cause then i can hit the lakes every weekend, sadly last year we only went to the lake like 4 times or so.

so new goals to try this summer:

getting up back deep start on long line

front one foot toe hold,

back one foot toe hold (i probably wont do this one this summer maybe next)

hand skiing

spinning front to back on feet

spinning back to front on feet

i can already spin both ways with training shoes. here are pics of what it looks like...

Whenever I try that barefoot skiing shit, my feet always feel like that are being tickled and I can't stay up

haha, it takes a while to get used to it, cause when you go for the first time for the season it will hurt a bit if you stay footing for a long time without falling, hurts more on long line till your feet is used to it again then its feels like its massaging your foot after that and i love the feeling haha

This sounds pretty cool and will be set up at the Rail jam I'm in this weekend. Only problem is I don't really need goggles this year, should I pick up a pair due to the sweet opportunity or are those prices like being raped for goggles???

At the Buckman's KOP Rail Jam on 2/23

Oakley will be hosting a "Custom Goggle Bar".

They will be making Custom Crowbar goggles.

You will be able to choose the various options - frame color, lens color, strap colors, outrigger colors.

They will be offered at three prices depending on which lens you choose:

Standard lens = $90

Iridium lens = $125

Fire lens = $135

You will do this at the Oakley tent at our KOP Rail Jam on 2/23 and then walk into the KOP store to pay for the goggles. Bring the receipt back to the tent to receive your custom goggles.

Limited quantities will be available. The Custom Goggle Bar will open at 3pm on Saturday 2/23.

This is something that will ONLY be available at our Rail Jam. This is a test of a program Oakley wants to develop. The only other place it has been done was in Vegas for the industry. In the future there will be an up charge from Oakley for the Custom Goggle Bar. This time they are being offered at standard retail pricing.

That is so fucking rad.

I may have to take you up on the goggle offers! I am trying to get Doug to send me a pair, I know they have a ton of new goggles, sitting in boxes in the office. I KNOW IT.

I am going to Munich this weekend. I will meet a friend from highschool there, this will be the third continent we chilled in. I'm also going to get beers with Ry.will. The beers in Munich are big and the most delicious in the fucking world. Seriously, this place is beer mecha. This is where Oktoberfest takes place every year. I'll post up pics that will make you salivate.

^ I don't think I could ever do that, but awesome!

Sooooooo stoked that my bindings arrived at the mountain this morning.

Much earlier than expected. Put them on the board and so far, am in

love.

Also, my jacket arrive in the mail! So I am all sorts of smiles :)

Aaaaaannnnnnddddd I took five of my snowboard instructors out skiing yesterday. It was so much fucking fun. 2 of the guys had a really hard time. But 3 of them, who have never been on skis before, did really freakin' good! They had a blast, and want me to take them again.

what? co-co-come again? VEGAS!?!?!? hahaha duuuude you're going to LOVE VEGAS!!!

may i come visit? tehehe

I am SO stoked now!!! I officially have my own place now (well, again), and I've got all of my shit moved in. It's still all packed up and everything, but I'm still happy.

My parents just left, but I had a great time with them. They've helped me a lot the past couple of days.

sweet!!! am i going to see your place tonight? well gotta go to class yuk...

oh i just had a major and academic advising earlier today and im on track and i officially have 3 more classes to take next term then i FUCKING graduate no more fucking school YES!!!

once i pass my classes this term, then my major classes are done. i only have to take one requirement next term and the other 2 classes of whatever i want.

Yeah, we saw close to a foot since last night, and another 6-12 forecasted thru noon tomorrow.

:)

Go lake effect!

So I was just out dropping a couple little ledges on my bike because there's nothing else to do, and totally forgot I was at the alternative high school. I got honked at by a car full of high school girls and it was hilarious.

The end.

2001 replies of stokedness. Sweetness.

Plans for my spring break are coming together. My friend sent me this an hour ago, this is what I will be in for come March.

"hello Dudes-

I just thought I'd let everyone know what the

plan is for the road trip. First, we'll be leaving sometime over the

first weekend of spring break, probably Sunday (which I believe is the

23rd). We will make the drive in either one day or two (depending on

how early Waud is willing to leave) and will rendezvous with Kimberly

and her friends at Yosemite. We will stay there Monday and Tuesday

nights. The ranger I talked to on the phone assured me that campsites

would be available.

After that we will head east to Utah, and we

will stay there at an undetermined campsite/lodging for however many

days we want. Then we will come straight back.

We are taking my

car, which sucks for the people in the back. I think maybe we should do

a 'trial run' with all of us in the car so everyone is fully aware of

the horrors that await them. That way anyone who can't deal with it can

back out, paradoxically improving the ride for those who were able to

tolerate the sardine-like conditions.

Seriously, it's really small.

We

will be packing light, obviously. The trunk is small too. Extra pants

and shirts are unnecessary, but do what you must. Same for boxers. You

will smell like shit anyway, and the only respite clean garments will

give you is a fleeting moment of wonderful crisp dryness before they

are saturated by your sweat and stench. Hiking boots or well-supporting

shoes of some kind will be a must.

In the interest of full

disclosure, I should tell you that the drives will be long. Down to

Yosemite and over to Utah will be significantly over 10 hours each.

Back from Utah will be over 15, if I remember correctly. We will most

likely be driving a lot during the night. We will be dirty. We will

smell bad. Showers will probably be available at Yosemite but after

that all bets are off.

On the other hand, we will be seeing some of the most beautiful stuff America has to offer. So it's definitely worth it.

These

two last paragraphs are mostly for Drew and Waud, who have never done

this before. The rest of us know what to expect, I think."

Road trips are fun. You're going to have a blast, although, the lack of space and the inability to change clothes sounds like absolute hell.

Found a really nice pair of vintage (70s) brown Mezlan ankle boots in my dad's closet that he hasn't worn for like 15 years. I have been looking for something to wear with jeans until my shoe situation is sorted out, and these are free, so... rad.

just back infrom the routeburn tramp/hike. pics to follow. somewhat tired and somewhat sunburnt but altogether stoked!

also stoked that I saved $200 on my seasons pass for the upcoming season.. fuck yea!

mmmmm just had an east coast light pow day at mount snow, despite all the gapers, once away from the main face, i unveiled my secret stashes to some of my friends, so it was pow all day long today, and i had a nice ice beard after all was said and done, so my face is burning right now, but it burns so good

Last week was seriously the first day that I've skied with my jacket not zipped up and a bandanna. Our snow situation here is glorious, but I could still use some fresh.

well, I didn't get to go skiing today, which sucks, but since I didn't go we got to go for an EPIC longboard, and I got a lot of shit done which needed doing. now we're going to longboard downtown, and see what else will happen with the remainder of the day

it's snowing like crazy right now. supposed to get 3-6 inches today! cant wait to go ski tomorrow

Its onlt slightly larger then the other one now...barely noticable. The bruising appears to have fucked off too...but its still feels only 80%.

I know if I go skiing I'm going to re-fuck it up...I just cant seem to avoid injuries...

I sprained mine when I got my knee on christmas and it still hurts. Bodies just kind of suck in general, I want a new one.

join the club. both of my knees are defective thanks to 15 years of playing short stop. only thing i gained from it was a tight ass

on the knee subject i've gotta go get mine scanned. every time i go tramping it fucks up after a couple of hours.

but anyways im stoked because my home mountain is getting a burton 'the stash' run. basically a natural big mountain terrain park with natural jibs etc. it sounds like it'll be pretty sick

ps: also stoked jossis doing so well for himself.. hes really burst onto the scene in a big way this year

I went skiing today! It was really frustrating because I was slow and couldn't go off the groomers, but I was skiing nonetheless.
