The Stoked Thread

Question: So I started making some chicken drumsticks last night, and the gas ran out before they finished cooking. So I put them in a ziplock and put them in the fridge. Is it cool to continue baking them tonight?

Cook poultry, ground beef, and eggs thoroughly before eating. In order to insure that eggs do not contain viable Salmonella they must be cooked at least until the yoke is solid and meat and poultry must reach 160ºF or greater throughout. Pasteurized eggs are also available in some areas and for foodservice organizations (MMWR Weekly, 1996).

As long as it is cooked it doesn't matter if you partially cooked it before, just cook it again and no prob. I own a meat thermometer cause I have a very nervous GF.

Salmonella won't kill you anyway.

stoked on dinner:

-radiator noodles

-spinich and feta tomato sauce w/ 3 strips of bacon crumbled into it

- steak cut into strips on top of it all with crumbled cheese

Make sure they cook through enough. With them being part way done, recooking them will make the outside cook faster and make the chicken look like its done when the middle might not be.

Stoked that I'm in New York... Snwbrdmilf's presence is all around me.

About to go out to cause some trouble..woop!

Hah, I'll be stoked once I'm out of NY. Screw this state, and their Hillary Clinton supporting BS.

or girlfriend. and you can post them here.

if you're a guy, stage 2 involves ryno and some KY, you don't want to know.

I got WASTED last night and only had a mild headache for about fifteen minutes this morning. Fucking weird, especially considering some of the crap I was mixing. Monday nights at the Dublin Pub are the TITS!

Drink list for the night, in order:

Pint of Rogue Hazelnut Brown (x3)

Cranberry & vodka (x2)

Batman (drop shot, see Photo thread for details)

Irish Car Bomb (x2)

Cranberry & vodka

Double shot of Patron

Double shot of Crown & Butterscotch

Pint of Snow Plow (milk stout)

Pint of Slipknot (IPA)

Batman

I have no idea how I didn't puke last night. Taco Hell probably saved me from a major hangover, though. I drank a lot, but it was over a six-hour span.

Just got my shock back from Push, this is going to be sweeeeet!

I also got a grade way higher than I deserved on my architecture project today, so I'm stoked about that.

haha, nice on both accounts. that shock is gonna be sick, and I've just been hearing ridiculous things recently about tom

Tom gave us a sermon today about how he worked from 5:00 am to 2:00am every day for the past 37 years and loved it. He expects us to do the same. Ironically, I was talking to a friend about how I'm not human and don't need sleep about five minutes before this. But I still manged to get a 3.6 on the project, even though I only worked on it until 10:30 last night because everything was spinning all day. I'm having a love/hate relationship with architecture right now, but the hate is flowing pretty heavy at the moment.

" If the storm were to develop to its full potential, an all-out blizzard may unfold for portions of the Great Lakes. The latest indications are the storm will travel toward the eastern Great Lakes with strong winds circulating around the center."

-Accuweather.com

I'm Eastern Great Lakes... I hope this is an all-snow event, but NOAA is pointing at rain/snow/ice mix AGAIN.

I have not seen a winter with this many ice events. We are WAY behind on snowfall, and have gotten a bunch (3-4 already) of ice events. The lake (Erie) is freezing over which is stopping lake snows from developing strongly.

It's messed up.

I have given up on accuweather.com since they are very good at sensationalizing even the smallest weather events and are no more accurate then anyone else

Eh, they are the only ones who actually attempt to look further out then one days weather.

They do tend to sensationalize a touch, but I can actually get a grasp for what may be developing.

NOAA's 2-3 day forecasts are spot on.

i could get used to this whole not working thing.

anyhoo so an update from my lil trip to killy this past weekend. sunday started out FANTASTIC! i began at the skye ship gongola so i could get some decent parking and take a nice easy cruiser to start with...just to get my legs under me since i havent skied in about a month. pow, pow, pow all over the place. to sum it up, i skied trees basically all day long. patsys, squeeze play and basically any place that had trees. i didnt care at all. if there was pow, i was there. it was the only day that ive ever skied by myself and didnt have a care in the world. i had a smile on my face the entire time. fast forward to the pm. my bf came up later that day and we proceed to go out and eat fantastic sushi and he watched me get shitfaced. really shitfaced. bad shitfaced. so shitfaced that he tells me i had a conversation with some lady that apparently rode the gongola with me that day (no one speaks in gongolas anymore..donno why but that seemed to be the deal) anyhoo i asked her if she was right, did i wear a red and white jacket, these kinda goggles etc? she says she couldnt remember. then i apparently said "if the gongola was filled with steeze, you must have been graced with my presence." no reaction from her whatsover. at least not one that my bf will tell me. next thing ya know its monday morning....and im hurting.

there was no skiing monday due to crazy winds all over the place. every lift with the exception of the kiddy ones were closed so we snagged some breakfast at Johnny Boys Pancake House on the access road. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! the food was ok for diner type foods. my only beef with this place was that i watched this one disgusting guy that worked there literally placed his greasy hands on every single piece of food that was layed out in the counter before him to be taken to the customers. im not kidding you. picking up bacon from one plate with his hands and placing it on another. snagging toast from a plate, putting butter on it and then putting it back on the plate. no gloves, no washing of hands. disgusting. i had coffee and left.

RUH ROH...lunch time...ill write more lates

I AM SO RIDICULOUSLY STOKED!!!!!!!

I don't want a lecture about this because I really don't care what anyone has to say, and it's MY body, so HMM!

Anyway, I'm officially going to run a half-marathon (about 13.1 miles) on April 2. Yes, it's before my knee, ankle, and jaw surgeries are scheduled, but I don't care. I'm getting paid $2000 to run it, plus five new pairs of running shoes (two XC, two street, and one all-terrain). I have a free trainer who will help train me around my knee issues and ankle issues, plus I get a new crazy knee brace contraption thing to wear for running (or skiing, hah!) and they'll pay for me to see a physical therapist once a week. Fucking SWEEEEEET! That money is officially going towards paying off some of my student loans. Sarah is happy! :)

Because of my recent issues with my school being useless, incompetent and unfair, I decided to cheer myself up by completing my goggle rotation in one fell swoop. I already had these crowbars:

crowbar_white_hiyellow.jpg

Which are obviously the staple for PNW riding; we have a lot of overcast and I do a fair bit of night riding on locals so the hi yellow provides good contrast. However it sucks when it's bluebird, soooo... I got these:

The black iridium is, imo, still the best lens ever made when you take into account what conditions specific lenses are designed for (that is no lens does what it's supposed to do better). So I'm stoked on that. Also, for the sake of style, I'm going to switch the straps and outriggers so the final product will be matte white frames with yellow iridium with carbon outriggers/strap, and metallic red frames with black iridium and white outriggers / strap.

Finally I picked these up because the test pattern looks nifty and I recently, upon using a friend's goggs, decided I liked the Anon blue mirror lens. They're for riding around in a tee shirt in spring slush on park days and when just messing around and having fun in the late-season sun... something I'm really looking forward to this year.

I still want to pick up a spare pink iridium c-bar lens, but that's not urgent.

ohh those red cbars and the anons are sexy. i love anons designs and whatnot but the viewing area isnt quite as good as the oakleys. oakleys are all about the peripheral

stoked that Im heading down to Noho in a couple of of hours to ski some po-dunk place in western mass with a couple of my friends. then out for drinks in the pm! god give me the strength to fend off those vivacious bull dykes. haha

Had an awesome day skiing yesterday. Bluebird, upper 20 degree weather. Park was loads of fun. My hill FINALLY made one absolutely tits 50 footer. Takeoff is 10-15 feet tall, super long, steep landing. I didn't quite feel comfortable to start spinning off it, but doing some straight air grabs off it was nice to get the air sense back, and I was stoked as it was the biggest jump I've ever hit.

Stomped a few sexy 3s off a smaller 25 foot table.

As long as the big jump survives the rain today, I am totally spinning off that big fucker next weekend.

The stoke for skiing totally came ROARING back yesterday.

just ripped the best shisha I've ever had. all I know is that it was pomegranite flavored, the juiciest I've ever seen, and the packaging was written in arabic, so I couldn't read it. but it was fucking good.

oh yea, and we smoked it in an igloo with 9 people out of a huge 4 hose hookah

I was sitting waiting for the bus 20 minutes ago and some kid just starts puking all over the street. It was so gnarly. I just looked up from Solitaire on my iPod and BAM there's a kid hurling all over the place. So rad.

Oh yeah, JD, I need a pair of your goggles. I only have one pair of scott messengers (or motives or something) with the black mirror lense. The mirror stuff is all flaking off. Awesome. I ski every day, I need goggles.

I have a pair of soldiers you can have, but considering shipping I don't know that they'd be that big an improvement. If you can get proxy shipping from the states you can do what I did and rip BCOutlet.com off with the 40% off of 30% off hack. Those crowbars cost 75 bucks shipped to the US. The Anons were 54.

fantastic weekend. friday night in a sweet condo in canmore with a roof top hot tub. good skiing saturday at sunshine. sat night in golden in a cheapo motel but with a bunch of fun people to party with. sunday bluebird at kicking horse. no fresh but still awesome (it's kicking horse...). yummy supper last night and then a 12 hour sleep. so nice. Now my legs are dead.

oh and it's 10 degrees right now in calgary in february. wtf??? but I'm not complaining!
