The Stoked Thread

although it should be noted I wear those massive thai fisherman pants i posted above...which most of you probably think is crap too.

Different strokes!

G stars are as raw as my denim gets right now... I'm with you on the nudies, I like them, but I've never even SEEN a pair of APCs. Neither brand is carried where I shop however, and I would never buy a pair of jeans without having tried on something by the same designer in at least a similar style.

Just got an entire Scuba diving getup from my rents. Going to take the scuba course this summer...woo!

didnt know if this should go in stoked or not stoked but whatever....

as a few of you are aware, ive had the fire lit under my ass to get off the EC and am finally doing something about it. the main thing for me is paying to get outta here and get out west. ive had job offers in SLC in the past but turned them down because im a pussy and apparently have issues moving so far away from home by myself. long story short, this is what i found while searching for some jobs out there...the pay is less than what i make now, but look at these benefits!

Im not a receptionist but for ski passes and bball tix, hell yeah Ill answer the phone.

Moving away can be tough, but totally worth it. The fact that going far is so frightening is what makes it so exciting. I advise that you just suck it up and go. It'll make a better person out of you to force yourself into unfamiliar terrain. I should give you this warning though, when you come back, things won't at all be the same. At first people will be happy to see you, but they'll have gone on with their lives without you and that is probably the toughest adjustment. It was for me.

My new tires were delivered today. Gotta get them mounted Monday.

My Subaru Legacy outback will soon be fitted with Yokohoma Geolander AT-S all-terrain truck tires.

Oh yeah, I'm stoked because the architecture project I turned in today got retained. Now I feel super rad, because while I had pretty much everything retained in my easy architecture class, it's never happened in the studio until today.

sweet!!! i got my scuba license like 3 yrs ago, but i haven't gone out for a long time and i would like to go again.

skiing today was SICCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK i found some sweet spot where there was pow pow of 3 to 4 ft FUCK ya, gonna ski through that all day tomorrow and hopefully it wont be packed tomorrow..

I just noticed a really sweet looking bruise running down the back of my knee, STOKED! I'm watching this guy religiously now, hopefully it will turn into something even cooler.

THE PATRIOTS LOST!!!!!!! HAHA take that Tom Brady, you motherfucker! My friend won $1000 on that game (he only put down $10, haha), so he's taking me skydiving in a few months when he's down in Oregon visiting his girlfriend. STOKED!

No more Jimmy! I'll only have to see him MAYBE one more time (unless I randomly run into him at school, but we have opposite class schedules, so hopefully that won't happen). I filed a police report and took photos of my bruises and such... and there are TONS of them, good god. They're all over my arms, bad knee where he grabbed me, ankle, thighs, my back, and my neck. Everywhere! So yeah, in the process of getting a restraining order.

My parents were originally scheduled to have layovers in Portland on the way down and way back from California on Valentine's Day and the following Monday, but they decided to extend their trip to drive up and spend a week with me since the whole Jimmy thing happened. I'm really excited that they'll get to meet True! She's definitely an amazing person, and I am really lucky to have her as my best girlfriend.

Nic (Sknsnw9) and I are going out to lunch tomorrow! It's going to be awesome, end of story. :)

I had a great weekend with my friends. I was definitely drunk before 7pm on Sunday, and then I got wasted for free last night. My bartender/good friend's dad was at the bar (along with the usual Monday night crew, which rocks!), and he's so fucking cool! He bought us a bunch of drinks, and he kicked my ass at pool. Pretty much the raddest old guy I've ever met.

Oh yeah, and I was on the phone with Ben on Sunday night, and he was more drunk than I've ever heard him before. I could hardly understand a word he was saying, but when he was repeating the same three phrases, I started to decipher his drunkspeak. That was probably the funniest conversation I've had in a while. True and I were laughing at him because he was saying crazy drunken things and amusing us, and then he started laughing because True and I were laughing, and he had no idea why. He then told me that I make him laugh, which made me laugh harder. Uh yeah, I guess you had to have been there, but it was great!

So there's my huge long post. Most stokedness I've had in a while, so I figured I'd post it up since it's been a rough few weeks. I love you guys!

^ dont talk shit about the pats! jk bhahaaha

glad to hear things are turning around for you...sounds like its about time!!!! kisses!

stoked that my vacation to mexico in june is booked!!!! yeeeehaaaaa drinking 24/7 here i come!!!!!!

stoked that my lil bro is coming back from baghdad in a month but not stoked that my other brother signed up for the air force and is starting boot camp in July. wtf?

Hahaha sorry, I've never like the Pats, and I definitely think they're very overrated. Obviously debating this won't get us anywhere (I've argued this countless times every Monday at my bar with a bunch of drunk men, haha), but yeah! The Giants aren't my favorites, either, though.

Where in Mexico are you going?! I'm stoked for you... sounds like a blast. Take me!

Glad to hear your brother is coming back. One of my really good friends (he used to work for me and is like a little brother to me) just enlisted in the Air Force, as well, and I'm definitely not stoked about that. He's starting boot camp around the same time yours is. I'm sad. :(

But yes, things are definitely getting much better now that I'm out of that living situation! I definitely have time to myself and to think, and I'm with a very good friend, so yeah. The only problem is that she works at a bar and likes to take me out to her favorite places, so we've been drinking pretty excessively lately. GAH! Oh well, I'm far happier and healthier, so it's a good situation. Thank you for being stoked for me and for my kisses!!

Stoked that I have entered my first ever rail jam!! Now as long as I can get through it without dying I should reap some sweet free giveaways.

That's right 26 years old and looking forward to a rail jam, this ought to be good :)

It's in PA at the end of feb. A bit out of the way for ya, although papa will be there I think, and if you like to shop it's at the king of prussia mall which is pretty f-ing huge actually.

Your gonna have to cheer on nipples though cause my lady said she'd come and root for me if I do it, plus if he's in it nips will probably win anyway. I on the other hand don't stand a chance of ending up in the finals let alone the top three. There's a couple threads in regionals about it.

Awesome man!

Took off for work Monday and Tuesday to make an impromtu trip to ski Vermont on Monday, as it should be a pow day!

ooohh ow oh, gee I think my bronchitis is making a comeback, I might not be in on monday either.

I'll call you in the AM, I usually roll out of southeast PA around 2am when I do this sort of thing.

We'd be leaving WNY at like 11. lol, going to be sooo tired. Hopefully driving in shifts.

If the storm never materializes, we might stay local and ski around here, but I'd say anything over a foot and a half will warrant going.

Like I said I'll be up there at Snow all weekend and if they are talking large amounts of snow for sunday night I could head back up monday morning. Are you really seeing a possibility of a dump or what, all the weather I'm seeing is just chance of snow showers. It would have to be pretty good to get me back up there on monday.

It's a bus trip with my family I kinda have to go home on the bus, if I stayed there I would have no car. Whatever, even if it doesn't dump I could still go for this, I'm gonna be skiing with my girl all weekend so come monday I'll be ready to kick some ass for sure. Whatever, Wherever, I don't care I'm in. I just hope my boss doesn't kill me for calling off.

oh yeah. duh. we talked about that.

ok so take monday off no matter what, get up early and drive to albany and ill drive the rest of the way. wherever we may go. get your lungs ready!

Stoked that I'll be hanging out with another PHer in about a half hour! We're going out to dinner, yayyyy.

i finally signed up to take my level one for instructing. dropped almost 200 bucks on it. now im just super nervous

Through PSIA? That's awesome. Good luck! When and where is it? I've had my AASI Level one for far too many years now. I should step it up and go for my Level 2. I just have a really bad issue with speaking in front of my peers. It's terrible.

Sknsnw9 aka Nic aka the hot deaf guy, haha. John, you're wrong: I saw Rowen a week and a half ago, foo. Get your shit straight, suckafish! Definitely a fun night... we ate and then went to the bar to play pool and get drunk. We're watching Lord of War now. I just found out that Nic has never shot a gun before, and I'm astounded! Damn son, he's an anti-Alaskan for sure, haha. Yeah, so I just realized that I probably know way too many PHers in person. Is that bad?

I have a snowboarder friend who told me last night he wanted to try skiing. He really isn't into snowboarding, he's only been doing it 3 years. And didn't even go last year. He said just thinking about skiing gets him all excited. He said first thing he's doing is going backwards :P

So I told him I'd go with him today. If he crosses over, this will be the 2nd friend this season to drop snowboarding and switch to skiing. Craziness!

count me out for jay this weekend. after everything that went down yesterday, the bf got me a hotel and spa package at killington from sunday to tuesday. much needed right now. i cant wait to take a bubble bath and get a massage. mmmm

So you're still skiing Killington though, eh? Good look.

It snowed some last night and the world is white again! Not much, but it's white.

for a day or two and then ill most likely go north. who knows right now. i cant seem to get anything definite on this storm and right now all i want to do is ski and have some "me" time.

Me neither. Really having trouble pegging much other than "hype" on Jay's website saying 1-2 feet. Not much is being said of what type of intensification we will see.

Although skiing VT would be killer either way, I don't want to spend $150 on gas and a pass and not have pow-pow.

Snow report from MRG today:

It's going to be POWDER CENTRAL at Mad River Glen today as we picked up a solid 12" overnight. This on top of the 8-10" yesterday, on top of the 4-6" from the day before that so we will be approaching EPIC skiing conditions today on Gen. Stark Mountain. I was no math major but I think that like 2 feet in the past 3 days! It continues to dump snow vigorously and the best part is it should continue to do so all day with well over a foot total expected. Actually the best part really is that yet another big storm is winding up to wallop us again this weekend. If you have been waiting to experience Mad River with optimum conditions your wait is officially over. Coverage on the mountain is very deep and skiing is going to be wicked sweet for the foreseeable future.

school is closed, blue bird day out now, and I cant even fit my ankle in a ski boot...DAMNIT!!!
