The Stoked Thread

Just had alfredo and shrimp cocktail for dinner, now I'm tapping into my store of Pyramid Hefeweizen. Life is gooooooooood!

Work was awesome tonight! Everything flowed smoothly, and the guests were awesome. Especially the second seating. There was a band...and guess who came. ELVIS! Though he was a douchebag because we all had wigs and shades on, and he thought that was "un-cool". Rang in the new year with the guests and champagne. I danced with table #26, and I NEVER dance. Clean-up was fast, ended earlier than I thought, and I walked out with loads of money. Great way to start the new year!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Woke up this morning, and the shoulder is nowhere near as stiff and sore as I was expecting.

My neck on the otherhand is RATHER sore from a wicked switch ragdoll earlier in the day.

Yay about the shoulder but ouch for the neck!

I brought moose steaks, sausage, and burger home with me from Alaska. It's from a 1000 pound cow that my dad downed on Nov. 13, and it's SOOOOO good. I haven't had moose in years, so I'm stoked! You know a family is Alaskan when its Christmas dinner consists of moose steaks, fresh king crab, Alaska Grown potatos, and Alaskan Amber Winter Ale. Mmmm.

Oh yeah, and the roommate got a new Xbox 360 for Xmas (his old one had the red ring of death or whatever), so now I can play Halo 3 on Live again, yayy. I'm aweful at it, but it's fun considering it's the first video game I've played since the 007 Goldeneye and Mario Kart on N64 days.

Eh, for me, it REALLY depends on the individual animal. Some 'bou taste really really gamey, but as do some moose. They're both really lean, which I love, and they're both delicious. We hunt caribou every year (two per person per year max), but moose hunting is a rare thing. There were only eight unantlered (meat) permits given out this year (you have to put your name in a drawing), and my dad ended up getting one. The last moose I had was one that my dad, his best friend, and I bow hunted for about eight or nine years ago.

My stepdad's a well-off redneck, so they always have lots of good meat that's ripe for the taking. I think they ran out of moose a little while ago, but right now there's caribou and buffalo (~350lbs) in the freezer. I'm almost out, so I'll have to nab some tonight.

Oh yeah, he gets the hamburger packaged in camo bags. UH.

Lucky.

See Ryno's post about the weather in the "Not Stoked" thread.

It's frigid here now, and they are hopefully pounding snowmaking now.

Wow...

"FOUR DAY SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 5

TO 8 FEET ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH SUNDAY IN THE SIERRA."

NOAA.GOV

lil nippy out today but i got some sick snowskating in.

Snowskate + pow + glades = epicness

Even the bails were funny as hell...and i wiped out a lot

^ Yeah it was really fucking cold today. And tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. But the snow is beautiful. Winnisook is open, and that is my favorite trail. All they need to do is open up the Winnisook glades and I'm set.

ive never had white castle. closest one is 2.5 hrs away. i may need to take a road trip at somepoint

Just booked the trip out west for me and the gf. Little interior tour trying to hit a few places I've wanted to get to (kicking horse, Revy) a few in between and an avy course in whitewater to kick things off. And a party in whistler to end it all

Going to be a wirlwind tour but hoping to meet up with people along the way. Any one with couches would be greatly appreciated too!

s my worst fears have diminished and i'll only miss about a week and a half on the hill, no acl damage just fucked up my meniscus so a little 30 minute surgery scheduled for monday and a week after that back to the slopes

Wow Chris...that's fucking awesome! I'm definitely jealous. Holy crap.

And yay for you Ajay! Glad things turned out in your favor.

I had a great day of riding today. Even though it was 4 degrees outside. Brrrrrr..

Congrat's! Wish I could say that. :(

I'm spending the day sitting at home because my ex gave me scabies and I'm smeared all over with this nasty topical thing for fourteen hours. AHHHHHHHHHH.

Goddammit, believe it or not, I know what thats like. My roommate got scabies four months ago, he though he got rid of it, but I guess not, because it came back in our new place and now WE had to go and lather ourselves with that premetherin shit because we might be carriers, even though we dont have the 'contagion'.

Your ex sucks Sarah.

DUDE, yes he does! But see the worst part is that I've had this shit for over two months now, and I seriously haven't been able to sleep because I've been itching so bad. The dermatologist bitch told me that I had an allergy to my new birth control, so she put me on an antihistamine which did NOTHING except mildly alleviate the symptoms for a week or two. This rash thing started on my hands and abdomen, and now it's everywhere. ACK. I've been miserable. On average, I've been going to sleep between 6-11am in the morning (usually after finally resorting to an Ambien), and my arms and legs have bruises and scabs from scratching so hard. Yep, sexy I know.

Jimmy (the ex) has them in his ass crack and his back, so HA. I've done 74374892 loads of laundry today, and I really hope this shit works because I'm going insane.

ANYWAY, as of midnight, Jimmy is 21, which means he's out of the house! I get to sleep in the bed. My friend bought me $73 worth of drinks last night... and this place isn't upscale. Thank goodness over half of it was beer otherwise I'd really be hurting today.

I think I've decided to call my doc and cancel my knee surgery next Thursday.

New Mexico + Ben in two months and seventeen days!!! So excited. :)

Just pulled the trigger on a super cheap pair of Fritschi Freeride Plus AT bindings. Think they might look good on the Gladiators :)

Those are sweeeeeet! I was debating whether or not to get a set of those last year, but ended up getting NX21's because I could get them $70 cheaper then.

Shoulders coming along nicely. Pretty stable, good ROM and fairly stable already.

Flat tire yesterday cost only $9 to repair (valve stem failure in the cold)

Jack in the Box started their Big Deal event... 2 taco's, a drink, and either a cheeseburger or a chicken sandwich for $2.69. I had it last night as a binge after a day of running and workouts. The aftereffects are... unpleasant, yet I regret nothing.

I was asked to judge the rail jam series at the mountain on Sunday, and announce the winners. This is awesome! Gonna be a good time. Missing out on some privates, but the fun will make up for it.

After tonight, I'll have scored four free dinners in a row! I might start calling around for tomorrow's food now.

Sick day of riding...still managed to find pow in the tree to get dirty in!

Dropped some small rock drops (10ft) in the glades, pretty happy with those seeing as nothing around here is any bigger.

New skis are actually super fun to ride!

...they chip like a mofo though...kinda worried about that

Just make sure to cover them in a little layer of epoxy within a few days and you'll be fine. I have so much epoxy on my LP's it's not even funny.
