The Stoked Thread

It's absolutely dumping at Whistler. Again. And I leave to go up on Saturday and will be riding for 11 days straight. Boo-fucking-yah! Oh, and I did keg stands last night for the first time in a looooonnng time. Felt like I was back in university. Good times.
 
Stoked that I had the most awesome day of riding. Nice crew and freshies everywhere. I stayed in the woods most of the day, which is pretty gnarly for Belleayre. That doesn't happen too often. Though I hit a tree, hard. Shoulder and wrist are killing me. But it was worth it for every fresh track I got. I don't think I've ever loved the East Coast so much. Boo-ya!
 
Just got back from whistler, and we had 19" over night, 49" in the last 4 days and HEAVY FREAKING SNOW until Tuesday. Booo-fuckin-ya.
 
My buddy hates his life currently there.

He moved there 2 months ago, got a job doing snow removal. Basically working non-stop and only has had a chance to go skiing 3 times in the past 2 months.
 
stoked that i just got myself out of working tomorrow at the store. there is no way in hell i can work 8 hrs with a certain someone that is completely unstable in the dome. luckily they're set at the store with folks working so no worries on my end.
 
oh and equally stoked that i got ALL of my gear back yesterday with no incidents. only issue was the fact that my shit was lying outside in the snow. two pairs of my skis are rusted beyond belief but ill be able to clean them up im sure. just the principal of the matter ya know.

Got my first paycheck from Belleayre, and it was decent! I feel like I didn't even wait the 5 weeks. But whatev! Money!

and i have a canker, so im not stoked on that.

but i AM stoked on this body butter i got as a gift. it smells fantastic.

Got my monthly performance bonus...

$900 after taxes. Pretty decent.

Plus, the fiance slayed some xmas shopping for me this morning as a favor without my knowing. Got a ton of stuff on major sale at Target today, when it was dead. Got $200+ worth of stuff for $70.

I saved loads of time, hassle, and mountains of cash.

Freaking awesome.
 
i know its tough but i know that i worked hard for this. plus he makes about 20 times more than i do in a year.

trust me yo, im sitting here kinda shaking from it. totally unexpected and i tried telling him that i love working for him, hes the nicest most relaxed guy ever and that i just cant accept it. but he put me in my place and i finally took.

i just cant wait to buy presents for people and maybe even some pow skis!
 
I get to go ski my favorite mountain tomorrow with 10"+ of new snow, so that should be super fun. I'm bringing the camera too, so if I get motivated I might get some pictures up tomorrow night.....maybe.
 
yay got my pic taken with santa! hahaha and finished work early. and found out I'm finishing 4hours earlier on Christmas eve.. woohoo
 
Dropped the biggest cliff of the season so far tonight (35'!), by myself, in the dark. Apparently, the 'dont do stupid shit' resolution from last year has failed in the face of two feet of fresh powder.
 
Two weeks is when both classes and non-stop work begins, sorry Patty. I dont get to ski for pretty much the entire month of January, wish I could go tho.
 
I just spent the past three days with an ollllddd buddy, chillin at our cottage. Skiing some of the best snow the E/C has had to offer in a loonnggg time, relaxing all night. No school, No cellphones, No computers, No work, No girlfriends, Etc., Etc. It was amazing.
 
Today was an awesome day for me. We went out planning on skiing out the south boundary at Bridger, but the wind and exposure made us decide otherwise...maybe another day. So we went out the north gate (waaayyyyyy out) and ended up finding some cool lines and having a really good time. We found a little ski cabin someone had built back in the woods, access to a few straightlines I'd been eyeing, and a way to ski back to the chairlifts from two miles out. And the snow was pretty good.

20" last night and yesterday. Thats 59" in the last 5 days. And heavy snow until... actually, as far as they can predict out into next week.
 
stowe has gotten close to 10 feet of fresh THIS MONTH, jay is up around 13 feet this month alone, shit is ridiculous this year on the east coast, although i will surely kill mother nature for that wonderful rain she gave us this past sunday night
 
Merry Christmas everybody!!!

I made it to cape town. it's really hot. and sunny and wonderful. spent a few days at the beach admiring some very nice views. pretty water and mountains and sunsets and very very pretty people. I love it. next week I'm goin up the east coast a bit to the indian ocean to surf. sooooo stoked! perfect christmas present from the parents!

christmas day was crazy. we had a ridiculous feast at a local family's house. there was honestly enough food to feed 75 people. no exaggeration. except that there were 12 of us. including 2 babies. we had 8 kinds of meat. I gained 15 pounds in 4 hours of straight eating. gross. anyways then we went to the beach for our white (sandy) christmas. good times. I miss home and snow and jared though.
