The Stoked Thread

^ So that means by now you're done! Yay Phil!!!

I'm excited to most likely be out on the hill tomorrow. If not, I'll still be at their Tap into Winter Party. I'm happy to see some old friends :)

Look at my lawn!!

Belleayre is NOT open though. They will officially open next Friday. But still, SNOW! Hehehehehehe

Bought a 30Gb Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra for $40.

Finally have music on the go!

St Sauveur officially "Opened" yesterday at 3pm. Sure its only 1.5 small runs but they busted their ass to get the title for who knows how many years ina row now

Light snow here overnight. No accumulation aside from a dusting on the high hills.

Railjam in a few hours!

^ Bummer Drew :(

I earned my turns today! First of the season! The hike was hard, showed me how out of shape I am. But it was so worth it.

Stoked that I got to play on my new skis today!! Hit the boxes up for a couple of hours and what a difference they lenght and weight made. I feel like a whole new person

Awesome! I take it you like them a lot?

The railjam at my hill was a "success"

Over 130 riders I think showed up. It was insane.

I struggled with the setup an only attempted it once. Speed was an issue, and the gap on was rather large (a few feet). Nice big bruise on my left ass/thigh.

Got to hang with Ian(Bangor) for a bit as he came out t take some photos of the event, and got incredibly stoked realizing that in 2 weeks, we will likely be skiing real trails.

i hate all you east coasters, you got snow before we did. that is not so right haha. but hey snow is finally falling down right now at the mts and for the rest of the week! so its about time!

thanks I'm pretty excited to try them out! hopefully sunshine opens next weekend, or I might have to wait until opening weekend at whistler.

im stoked that in 3 days i'll be on a plane to switzerlaaaaanddddd weeee!!!! :) and in 4 days i'll be in sweden enjoy winterjam! yawrr!!

last night was the going away bash it was a hoot. got to see soooo many ppl and a surprise guest from out of town showed up it was wonderful!!!!!

Yeah it was a bit bigger than I'd expected, I was expecting like 50 people tops hahah. I've yet to check the flicks, but it was a pretty good time all around. Just waiting for the real stuff so we don't have to truck snow in hahaha, it's coming quick!

Saw the Warren Miller movie Playground Friday. That was pretty sick.

Saw the John Butler Trio in NYC last night then went out with a bunch of friends. That was super sick.

Just booked a ticket to go to Colorado for Thanksgiving to ski and visit a friend that couldn't come home for the holiday. That is fucking ridiculous.

Driving to Buffalo with a few friends Friday night for the Pats/Buffalo game on Sunday. That's going to be an awesome time.

Every weekend has been/ is going to be super fun. Loving it.

I just finished my 1/4" scale final model for architecture and it's sweeeeeeet. And it just started snowing!

Now I just have to build a 1/2" model, do a plan, section, elevation, and perspective drawing, and build three concept bridges before monday!

When I'm done with the big'n I'll get some pictures up. Right now I'm working on the base for it, this could be a long night...

Bought some hats from ECHeadwear, and one of them I really don't like. It looks dumb on me. So Matty's letting me exchange it for the new t-shirt that Ivan designed, and it comes in a small! Pretty happy about that :)

(hope that works)

Solid shirt.

I'm pumped up like crazy. I listened to Dragonforce "Thru Fire and Flames" which pumped me up because we used to pump that at our cars before we shredded last winter.

On Saturday night, I bought my one-way ticket to France. I suppose I should have asked travel agents if I could have went directly to Zurich, but I doubt I would have found a ticket for $400 taxes and fees in, jea! I'm going to have to figure out the train from Paris to Zurich and then a shuttle to Laax.

I was buying a new pair of jeans yesterday and when I brought them to the counter, they gave me 30% off because a sale will be starting in a few days. I saved about $60! Jea!

See you fools on the hills. Actually, no I won't! Suckers!

Jea dude! They're the tits! I was able to butter them like no other and spin them around SO much easier than my other skis. I even worked up the courage and attempted a 270 on but I feel and my ass took a serious beating..not even in a good way. I cant wait to take these babies up to Mt. Snow this weekend! Oh yeah giggity giggity giggity

had a great ride on sunday. Great technical single track that i felt good on. Also first time the gf has been able to ride the whole thing (once due to mech failure, the other injuries). So proud of her since I first got her on a mt bike in june and shes really progressed.

Bike stoke is always awesome.

Clearing the section you couldn't before is the best feeling when you're learning.

Mt Snow is really sending a message to the skiing community about their overall committment.

And the new owners really respect the park crowd too. Looks like it'll be a fun place to ski for park this year.

My vote goes to the insanely out of control skier about to absolutely DESTROY that other snowsports slider on the lookers right side of the trail?

yeah im really glad they stepped it up. there was so much nonstokeness on the whole killy thing. snow is going to be awesome this year

Ahhhh, that's sweet! Both my bikes have turned into grocery-getters since school started since I haven't had time to ride. Well, mostly just one since my DH bike was out of commission for the past month.

Alright, so I still have to cap the edges with something purdy looking, but here's how it stands right now. The object of the problem was to utilize the space next to the architecture building using three sheets of 8'x20' steel and 36' of 6"x6" wood cut to any diameter or lengths you wanted. The steel has to be able to be bent back to its original shape, so that was a big limitation. So we really just had to create a dynamic space with almost nothing. Anyways, here's what it looks like:

There is a sidewalk along the left side of it that runs between the dorms and campus, so our goal was to make it so people didn't hurry by and totally ignore all the architecture students (yeah right!) And each layer of cardboard=6" of elevation change.

interesting concept. I always enjoyed the model making part of my architecture program. though so projects like this tend to border more on abstract art as ooposed to architecture which is why I didnt choose so many schools i had the option of attending and actualy went to a college in the end

This is my first semester, so we're just studying design fundamentals at this point. Our last project was building a site model of the architecture building; my small model (not pictured) is built to be placed in the site model next to the building.

Shitload of snow fell at Whistler over the past 2 days (like 2+ feet), and most likely Baker as well (waiting for word on how much). More is on the way. Baker might open this weekend, and Whistler is opening next week where I have 4 days off. I can't fucking wait I am SO pumped.

yeah i'm so stoked about that! I just bought my WB pass last week. unfortunately my parents are coming to visit me on opening weekend.

we got rain last night. i was not happy. 10 degrees cooler and it would have been a shit load of snow
