The State of Grinding

yea a lot of em do,, the biggest problem is everybody is afaid they will look "uncool" if they try them. and how will anybody ever make them look good if they dont try em.And presses are already here.

to the people saying rails will disappear:

do you mean from comps or from terrain parks?

people will always love rails. it adds a new element to skiing.

a new challenge.

comps will always be around with rails... rail jams will still be around too.

but it wont be about one rail anymore.

someday it will be multiple rails, and they will be judged on variety.

you just watch.

rails are the way a ski resort can say they have a terrain park. its you want to be creative.. grab your skis when you slide it.. or slide a pole along for a 3point slide.. haa

I think nose/tail presses are sick but there isnt a whole lot else you can do with them. Maybee if you tried for a long time you could get 270 on nose press but it would never be consistent enough to throw in competitions. And that's why most comps suck and why Eric Pollard and pretty much everyone else who doesnt compete hates them

I like spinning, sometimes in one direction, sometimes in the other direction. Sometimes one way, and then right after that, the other way. One after the other.

The problem with rail jams are that the features are so stale. There's only so much you can do on a flat-down.

i think judges need to give better points for orignaility, i want to see some true butters to nollies on some rails and pretezels are always sick, if we dont reward individuality, just spin to win, rails will never progress

Tim D did a switch up to nosepress. except that it was on a 65 foot long box and he held the nosepress for about 40-45 feet of it

dude i think that you need to watch that video over again. there was a lot of creative stuff done on those rails: the shift over the kink, the amazing prezals, and some sick press. it wasn't just the same shit over and over. Bons did a good job in not repeating any tricks. More cool tricks they did: lip 270 on, 360 switch up, lip to nose press, 270 on to sit down thing, etc... Next time watch the video before you say it's the same shit over and over again

I saw a skier switch hands with his poles behind his back...on a kink rail. It was pretty sick.
