"The Stash"

We got a little preview from the park crew last weekend, minimal grooming (this will just get shut down if the landings are too messed up). No grooming when it snows, should be fun to open on a powder day.

that is amazing. you can just chill up there w/ some friends, bring some food, chill in the cabin. jib a ton of stuff. sure to be no park gapers up there.

well i guess if they have road gaps sure. but if anyone has skied the trees around the park at vail you would know there are log jibs. Around CJ's smoke cabin in the woods at Breck there are some tree and log jibs. and in the trees all around Beaver creek there are log jibs. There is even a secret jib park that you have to traverse through a ton of thick ass trees to get to. my friend and i only found it cuz we always like exploring new areas of mountains and finding secret stashes (i actually have no idea how we found this place, it was a miracle that we ran into it). we know a lot of them now.

This place sounds cool anyway. i hope its fun. maybe i'll take a trip to tahoe one of these days.

northstar is filled with fucking sstoners even just in the middle of the runs they pull out a pipe when there waiting to hit something its awsome hahaha

northstar is a really chilled out place u can steal bear so easily cus they just leave it out so i bet you could
 
The cabin will not be staffed. It's meant for people to stop in and pay homage to Craig Kelley. The hope is that people will respect it and not trash it, or abuse it. Though because people have no respect, expect to stumble upon some nasty stuff in that cabin.

Ive never been there, but that website is sick as fuck. hehe, sounds cool, I havent seen any real pics though from there yet of the park in use, perhaps in a snowboarding mag. Sounds like a great innovative idea though thats for sure.

^yes it does look like a bikepark! You guys are so lucky at northstar, I'd kill to have a park like that.
 
I say we bring an N64 and Mario Kart up to the cabin! Fuck skiing lets duel it out at Block-fort!

jea!!! I jibbed some logs today. Also there are a ton of natural tree rainbows, the cabin is smaller than it looks in the pics, but it is jibable. there is also a really fun tree stall. it all done really nice, but there is not enough snow right now to do anything on it.
 
Won't it all just get torn to shit? Something like that would be cool, if it were more secretive. That's pretty crazy to have a road gap in the park though.
 
they need to make a pass for this thing, or tahoe papers will read "New Stash Opens at Northstar, Every Gaper wanna-be Pro Dies..."
 
I'm guessing it should be open tomorrow, the run "the stash" has plenty of snow. We're just waiting for the features to fill in, as I explained to a few poachers today, they're permanent and built for mid-season snowpack. It's up to the park crew, but it looked to me like the majority of the features had enough snow. Experienced riders can handle it, but I think the hesitation to open it is that the features are really big and high right now, don't want just anybody cruising through there.
 
well in tahoe its been snowing all last night today and tonight and we already got about a foot in the day so i bet it will be open ve3ry soon

yeah some of the features look kinda sketch cus there so huge but still look way fun
 
Is the jibbing on wood oke? I will be riding some sort of stash pretty noon, Are wooden boxes, rails & suff oke to jib on skis?
