The simpsons

EXACTLY! the last like 3 seasons have been shit in my opinion. not witty and just all around great like they used to be.
 
all the seasons are funny in their own way

the earlier ones are more of lots of petty / silly jokes

the present ones are innapropriate / real jokes

its two different types of funny you cant say one is better than the other
 
i find the simpsons are trying to hard now, they used to be funnier back in the day. its almost like they're trying to be more like family guy by adding in random things that dont make sense. i havent been enjoying the show like i used to
 
i almost find the old simpsons to be more entertaining, but the new ones to be funniersorta like family guyit may be funny, but i don't necessairily like it, i just find it kinda funny
but ya the old ones didnt have as many stupid crude jokes, it was just sorta a story that i liked to watch
 
i totally disagree with you guys. the story doesnt have as much meaning i guess but i think they do it better.

the movie was awesome.

that and the old episodes animation bugs me.
 
its just weird, family guy pretty much copied the simpsons, right around the time that all the simpsons writers were like god we are tired of doing this show, we're completely out of ideas. And then the simpsons started copying family guy... who knows
 
they just changed the direction of the show, that's all. You can only do so many 1 liners and stupid jokes.

I think the earlier seasons were better. Watch the monorail episode, the city of new york vs homer simpson, mr plow, or who shot mr burns. Those were the best episodes in the entire series i think. It's a shame the new york one is never on, and if they show who shot mr burns, its always screwed up and they show either the 1st or 2nd part, but never both
 
the simpsons is so great becasue so many jokes that are subtle and well thought out but ya, as of late they have leaned slightly more toward a family guy style of comedy
 
The Simpsons in my opinion have are hilarious. Always have been, always will be.
I just watched a rerun episode last nigh on comedy central, I forget which season it's from but it;s the episode where bart has a pet elephant, and at one point homer falls into a pit of quick sand and he's like: don't worry, I can just struggle my way out of it, I'll just pull my legs out with my arms, and my arms out with my head. And then he sticks his head into the quick sand and sinks. Although I have seen this scene many times before, I honestly fell onto the floor laughing.
