So what is the best resort in Western canada ? (excluding Whistler).

That includes all resorts and cat/heli skiing operations.

For my money, Lake Louise and teh Banff are is the shit. The Lake has a killer park and you can find all sorts of backcountry stuff. Golden isn't far away either.

one word: Kicking Horse.

This word is not allowed: "FUCK". Please change it. -MSN Profiles

Wait a minute........that's more than one word it's like 3 or some other high number

I can't tolerate intolerant people!

Everyone talks about Lake Louise's park, but Nakiska ( 35 minutes from Calgary) has a way better park, especially jumps, year in and year out. I don't mind though, there is usually about 20 guys sessioning the park on a weekend.

But banff is a good area, so is Fernie and so is Silverstar and so is Kicking Horse...

Asking for a good Western Canadian resort is like asking for a good Beatles song.

vernon does not have sick stuff around here, and silver star isnt good there's like 4 good rails, 3 or more hours from vernon is good though

Last time I was at Silverstar their park was a joke. Since he said heli operations... Bella Coola?

big white is pretty fun their park isnt crazy or anything but its decent and they held nationals for snowboarding int he pipe last year so they finally learned a thing or two about building a pipe. the all aorud riding is good two.

Fernie is my favorite place to ride at. Oh Heartland, without doubt, the best in-bounds run you will ever find. Its rediculous, deep stuff at the top, and natural jumps and little diddies the whole way down. Even though we didnt have that great of a season, I still have the most fun thur.

......................
Trying is the first step towards failure

Red Mountain, Big white, Nakiska

Red for the big mountain shit is prolly the sickest resort on the west coast INCLUDING Shitsler.

And we got a park this year with shitty rails and a 50ft jump..

Hey you know why Your mom is so fat? Because everytime I fuck her I give her a cookie

Kicking Horse is closing. It's official. After a fairly poor season, given the deficit they decided to give it up, good job to the ppl that invested in it tho, twas worth it. Big White is pretty fun, light powder for sure. I might have to say Powder King and mention the Mosashees, Kokannees, the Bugaboos, and such heliskiing heavens as well...

Gravity sucks

their pipe was massive during spring break, closed because of the nationals but incredibly huge, way bigger than whistler's. And the park was pretty sick overall, lots of rails and 3 decent tables.

are you serious about kicking horse? I might cry if it's true. best mountain ever. where is this info coming from? as far as I know, they're owned by Grouse Mountain Resorts, who make millions from tourists and could afford to keep KHMR alive.

If that's true about Kicking Horse I'm going to cry.

kicking horse is the shit, lake louise is fun, best park is nakiska for jumps

i was trying yo keep Kicking's Horse's growing popularity down! Come on! It will be the new Whistler in a few years, so lets save the fun and the powder for the ppl that have the chance to go there.

Powderking is not "crazy" Lots of snow though. They don't usually have a park because it gets burried on a weekly basis and most skiers there are more interested in shredding pow anyways.

For decent lift accessed steeps and whatnot the small hill known as Castle Mountain is super fun. Again no park but such a cool little hill.

ok sorry... I didn't quite catch onto that. glad to hear my favourite mountain is still in business!
