well, i just returned from watching these guys rokk for like an hour and a half. i think they pretty much played all their songs, and i loved every minute of it.

they are unfucking believable i'm seeing them in a few weeks at the gorge hmmn along with hella other dope bands...

the only girl i've ever loved was born with roses in her eyes. but then they buried her alive one evening in 1945 with just her sister at her side and only weeks before the guns all came and rained on everyone. now she's a little boy in spain playing pianos filled with flames on empty rings around the sun.

I don't know how it can't be liked.

The Shins need to hit Toronto again. I missed the show years back and am dying to see them.

they played with this band called the decemberists. i had never heard of them, but they had really unique insturmentation. a doubel bass, an accordion, keyboards etc. even a gong. they were pretty unique. and they walked on to prokofiev. thats the first sign that they wouldnt suck.

the only song i've ever heard from them is 'when you notice the stripes',and i really liked it...

I'm a huge Shins fan and have both their albums, but I was a little disapointed in the live show, they opened for Modest Mouse, and they didn't blow me away, it sounded too much like the albums, no live feel. But I'm not hatin', they are sweet.

i was actually pretty impressed. i had heard that their live show wasnt the greatest, so i didnt have the highest expectations, so i was pleasently supprised. songs that i didnt expect to be rocked were rocked pretty hard... the show was also in a pretty small venue, so that might have added to it.

Were you wearing a sweater?

I really enjoyed the Decemberist's first album, and the second one is great too, however, Meloy's voice can be wearing to my ears. But they definetly have their own sound.

no sweater. i picked up the decemberists latest at the show, and i would say that i liked em better live than on cd...

Jrich, that is tough question. I love them both equally, but for different reasons. The production on the second album is great, but that also works against the album in some aspects. I love Inverted for it's analog fuzz that raps around me. I like the fact that I can hear more backup vocals on the new album, cause I like the Shins backups. Both great albums! Great lyrics, great hooks! Gadzooks!

i would say oh inverted world just because i didnt like the last few tracks on chutes too much. some of them sounded too country
