The sad thing about the movie industry right now

Sequels or spin-offs are not cheaper to make. The allure in them comes from the fact that an established series or franchise will perform relatively the same throughout the multiple reiterations and reincarnations it undergoes because producers and investors would rather put their money towards something they know will be a decent success and have some net profit. So they stick with the same formula most of the time in order to recover their investments. Sequels are often much more expensive to make.

And there are plenty of independent films that buck this trend, yes. But don't count out the other mainstream films, i.e. Inception, Kickass, etc, that are unique. Out of the hundreds of movies made, only a few can be original and that's normal. Nobody is forcing you to see Shrek 6 really.

Last point is that without reliable franchises to make money off of, there wouldn't be funds for the actual good movies we all rave about. For instance, without the success of Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Nolan would not have had the clout nor money to make Inception. While this might be a bad example since the Batman reboot was very unique in its production, it still conveys the system and idea.

funny how in pretty much every example, the movies get worse as the cost to make them goes higher. not sure about batman, harry potter, or lotr cause i havent seen all of them. but everything else its like the more it costs, the worse its gonna be.

Well I have not seen the movie nor have you but I was thinking of movies that aren't afraid to push the envelope and not pull any punches. Shit has become to "mainstream" and stagnant these days.

As far as the song goes... I have no idea dude, I think this movie is from India or some shit.

But nonetheless a fresh injection into the movie industry. The studio still had to greenlight a fresh project and take a gamble, so to me that's a counterpoint to the movie industry being stale, whether it be adapted or not.

Worst Beatles song is 100 x better than the best Jonas Brothers song. You kids have no taste because you've been force fed so much shit, you just don't know good music when you hear it. He's def not correct.

You're livin' in the past, man. Despite their contribution to music, The Beatles aren't immune to criticism.

I'm not even a huge Beatles fan but if you don't realize the Jonas Bros suck horse cock and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as real musicians, the jokes on you.

While the Beatles might have started out with "Love me Do" and " i wanna Hold your Hand", within 5 years they released "Sgt. Pepper" , "the White Album" and "Abby Road". 50 years after the band started they still sell millions of albums and are one of the top Downloaded artist on ITUNES. If this is what you see in the future for the Jonas Bros. you are delusional.

2/5 of the American population watched the beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan show.

7 days later, they were on it again. And got just as many viewers.

To give another idea, they sold out 50,000 seats at shea stadium in 17 minutes, pre-internet ticketing. That takes some doing.

and on a personal level, I, like most ns'ers, was not alive when the beatles were together. And yet somehow, despite not being a devoted beatles fan, i know the names of each member, and the names/lyrics of many of their songs.

as for the jonas brothers, i'm aware that they share a last name because they are brothers. And that's about exhausted my knowledge of them.

I say this because it seems you're arguing with something I never said. No shit the Beatles were greater than the Jonas Brothers will be. If you actually knew how to read you would see that I only said they started as just another boy band that sang shitty pop songs for little girls. The difference is that they went on to become one of the most influential bands. I can only be held responsible for what i say, not for your inability to understand a basic sentence.
