The Rory

What up NS,

My last Powder podcast went up today and thought I would share a link. Rory could have been so much bigger than he ended up. Rory has the gift of natural effortless style....What he didn't have during his ski career is an understanding of how to be a true professional skier. Life is all about making things happen for yourself and making decent choices. While Rory never achieved his potential as a skier, he had a big influence on some of the top pros today.

Rory's Inappropriate Questions will be on www.thepowellmovement.com later this evening. If you are interested, I have a new interview with pro skateboarder Tom Schaar up now.

Adios for now!!

Mike

I just listened to Rory, Marc Andre, and Andy Mahre. Nice job documenting these people's stories.

Listening to Rory's interview it didn't seem like he thought 'ah man if only I'd done this my career would have gone a different path.' He seemed more bummed about recent trouble with the law than the way his ski career went.

Random note, a friend of mine once 'saved' Rory's life. Rory was smoking a doob while doing homework and fell asleep. The doob lit his homework on fire, my friend witnessed this and extinguished the fire.

The Rory interview was pretty depressing I thought. He could have been so much bigger, and it just never seemed to cross his mind... Loved this whole series though Mike along with the Powell Movement full interviews.Hope these keep going, they certainly give an in depth look into a sport I thought I knew but only really knew the surface of.

Thanks for the feedback and additional Rory story! Based off the interview, it doesn't seem like he has regrets, he just lived his life how he chose to.

Thanks for listening! It was fun to get the full (as much as I could in :40) stories of how people came up. I learned a lot about everyone...even the people I already knew pretty well.

Dude in the beginning I thought I couldn't get through the interview... it just felt rough... but a little ways in I got pretty into it. I think its rad you're bringing these different stories to light. Outside of just what we view as success. Rory seems like a dope dude to me in the end. Enjoyed the podcast this season hope to see it back!
