The reason for Freeze being cut has very little to do with its current size or growth potential as stated in the press release. Obviously Transworld publications nor Ski or Skiing became the size it is today over an eight year period like they claim to have expected from Freeze. Freeze has been canceled do to corporate greed and a lack of understanding, recognition, and respect for the actual dramatic growth this segment of this sport has and continues to experience thanks to Freeze's relentless dedication. The cutting of this magazine is a slap in the face of everyone at every level in the snow sports industry.

i bet freeze could start again if they got a financial backer within the ski industry, like if line or someone gave them a bunch of money in exchange for free advertising or something. who knows, probably wouldnt work because i know nothing about ski industry finances or magazine production costs.

i just hope that someone big and important out there see's the importance of freeze magazine and keeps it going independent of a big syndicate corporation.

ok so i went and looked at TIME WARNER company history and over the past 2 years they have had a positive increase in profits/company growth. but, if you look at a 5 year they have had a HUGE drop their stocks went from almost as high as $100 per share to around $17 now. basicly they want more money again. fuck coporate greed

all i know is the same day they said they were shutting down freeze they posted these numbers for the 3rd quarter of op. Operating Income of $4.562 billion (up 21% from $3.764 billion in 2003), Net Income of $2.237 billion (up 12% from $2.001 billion in 2003) they make me sick

hey, if anyone is talking about the guys from freeze starting a new mag, it isnt happening. a few weeks ago berman was out here, and he was sayin they are so pissed they dont even want to try to get back into the magazine industry. which sucks, but i really cant blame them, work your ass off for years, and then all have it ripped away for no reason at all.

As nice as it would be Kami alread said no Newschoolers mag for a good bit of years it just takes alot of time effort ppl and money to put that togehter its not an overnight process cant blame them!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

actually, the real reason Freeze was cancelled was to make room for yet another new version of Skiing Magazine. Skiing is going to be renamed next year or the year after, and its editorial focus is going to shift younger (into Freeze's territory). I would bet that the new Skiing will be delivered to anyone who currently gets Freeze. The suits at Time Inc must have decided that they can cover the whole two-planker spectrum with two mags: Ski and a younger Skiing (except that it won't be called Skiing).
