The REAL issue with XGames

This trick scored a 47, it's a switch double bio 1800 seatbelt:

This trick scored a 42, it's a forward triple cork 1800 mute:

This is the switch variation of the previous trick, and it scores a 47?? It was cleaner, but there's no way it's worth 5 more points and that it scores the same as the dub bio.

I agree that the whole "are matej's nosebutter 19s the same trick" is an issue, but what I can't stand is xgames pulling scores out of their ass to make the events exciting at the end. Idk maybe I'm just an Edouard fan getting mad bc he got 4th but I feel like Alex's tricks were too similar and Mac was over scored to force a dramatic finish. Am I wrong?
 
yes this big air was all over the place with the judging, but i think edouard got a lower score on the 1800 because he crashed attempting it the run before

the problem is that style is so subjective. You cannot judge a style based sport with a specific format. There will never be a perfect winner. That's why comps suck and edits rock.

lol my issues weren’t style related, some tricks are clearly harder than others. But you’re right, style plays a part in judging which is why scores will always be slightly off
 
Henrik absolutely fuming that sw dub bio 18s are getting scored properly this year. Or maybe the score was also cuz the grab Edouard did was harder than a tweak safety. Either way Edouard won in my heart he’s fun to watch
 
It’s a pretty interesting shift to see spins and degrees being scored higher than # of times off axis.

Also seemed like how long a trick was grabbed was a major deciding factor too.

Mac locks in the grab early and holds it the entire trick pretty much better than anyone else imo, I think that helped him differentiate a lot.

I’ve got a feeling Henrik is a big Edjoy fan, but yeah nice to see the judges can count degrees this year
