The problem with Steve's Slvsh game

Just watched the game and I can't say I'm not dissapointed. The problem I had is Simone (no hate against him) isn't a very charismatic guy. We all knew Steve wouldn't win a game but we were expecting some funny moments and interesting tricks. Steve playing Simone just didn't have the chemistry you would expect if Steve played Elias, Ahall, or woodsy so the game just ended up being boring and one sided. Let's hope Steve reffed a bunch of games and we have that to look forward to.
 
Meh, Steve also just didn't ski very well and missed on some things he usually makes so the game never found a rhythm, which really has nothing to do with Simone.
 
I know it's competitive but simone shouldnt have called that dub 10. Wish he kept it to mostly rails instead of calling tricks that he knows steve wont put down

Honestly suprised steve wasnt more upset abiut that call. But the best moment was-

Now if it was a game where you called a trick in a certain style, new wave/comp jock/stoner park rat steve would have clean house.
 
Steve vs. Woodsy would have been a fun watch. I agree that Simone wasn't the best to pair with Steve's humor.

The only problem is when it dropped and that Steve lost. It’s dope as hell free content, stop complaining or don’t watch it.

Steve is a giant dick but I did think that Simone threw him under the fucking bus way too fast. Could have at least given the game some sort of progression.

your root of disappointment was the fact that you established certain expectations of how the game should play out, it was a game of slvsh. Idk it isn't a trollin' video nam sayin.
 
I agree with Steve, it's all cause Magnus stole his damn vest.

Obvious that Simone was the better skier in this game (format wise), he greased near every trick when Steve was all-around sloppy. Wanted to see more of Steve though, guy kills it, just not in a game of slvsh. Glad we got some b-roll of Steve's commentary though, givin us some of what we wanted to see.
 
Stepp rode poorly. The other dude, who I've honestly never heard of, rode really well. There have been lots of games where people called tricks their opponent hadn't even tried before. It is an alternative comp, but still a comp. I think I would lose interest if I knew people were not calling tricks that would challenge their opponent. When someone hucks something first try in a game, it's one of the cooler things slvsh has to offer.

Im just saying its kind of a dick move imo. Kinda like in Andy Parry's games he doesn't call any wizard tricks. Sure he could get an easy letter but thats not fun and just ruins the nature of the game.

I think every other competitor in this comp can put down a dub 10. it's not exactly considered an elite trick any more for park skiers at that level.

It’s now an expectation that there’s music in the background of slvsh games and for the first time I can think of there wasn’t? That didn’t help the awkward vibe

Steve 100% should've been there, and thats why we invited him. Slvsh was designed to get all types of skier to play and get the opportunity to show off their skills. I love nothing more than watching a contest heavy skier go head to head with a film heavy skier. Sometimes its not your day and you don't get to showcase your finest skills, thats just how it is. Steve is one good fucking skier with loads of tricks. Not sure if you've ever realized but steve has been skiing like a boss for over a decade. Constantly working on new tricks. Who else is good enough to troll all different styles of skiing and make it look perfect. :)
 
Not really pissed he skied against Simone, but the guy doesnt seem to even know who steve is so it lacked the anticipated humor. Seemed like he was upset missing tricks too, if he had played Henrik that wouldve been such a great game to watch. Never heard of Simone either and I was expecting a bunchy style at first but hes tech and good.

Steves also a nasty legend so fuck anyone who says otherwise.

The beauty of slvsh is you can call as much or as little of a trick as you want. Kind of like censorship, either anything is okay, or nothing is okay. As soon as we start taking it personally when someone throws a hard trick, it ruins the fun. Would you get mad if øystein set a trip against henrik? probably not, cause henrik probably has more triples than anyone else in the game right now. The point of the game is to get letters and as soon as you start throwing tricks that your opponent has a higher chance of landing, that lowers the possibility that you will win. Sure, it may be more interesting to watch, but by going easy on your opponent so that the game can last longer gets fucking tiring. Ever actually play a game of skate with more than 30 tricks? Simple shit just gets harder and harder and imo the best method of attack is to be fucking brutal and don't let up. Maybe I have an extremely unpopular opinion but the reason skiing is where it is today is not because people got comfortable doing steezy shit. They pushed the fucking limit and in competitions and ski movies, people didn't just do what they comfortable with. They did whatever was possible to be the best. I'm excited to see the final riders go all out in the final match.

Henrik would have ripped steve to pieces just as bad, probably worse than simone did... I guess Henrik would have had way a way more amusing back and forth with steve. Absolutely no disrespect to steve, but I'd bet money that henrik is gonna make it to the final game, just cause of the number of NBD's he has in skiing, and he basically designed that park and has been skiing it pretty much all season, so one could argue he has a bit of a home field advantage.
