The Postal Service/Death Cab For a Cutie

Two of my favorite bands of all time. Ben Gibbard is a genius, and a god. Never have i heard a single other band (besides maybe Starfucker)that can produce so many perfect albums, that truly feel as if theres no filler songs. Even though Death Cab has become somewhat sold out, i really appreciate the lack of style change.

Iv seen them both perform at Bumbershoot and Sasquatch a few times, and its unreal. Probably my favorite thing about indie, the bands sound the same as on the ep's

These are some of my favorite songs-

Any other fans out there?

im a pretty happy normal styled teenager with a girlfriend. They've acutally been my favorite band since i was like 8. These have been a great 2 years

i've seen death cab twice. once was in 2008, and it was probably the peak of my listening to them, and they did not disappoint. then i saw them this summer since they were playing with the new pornographers and the hip, and figured they couldn't be that bad, so why not, and they were actually pretty damn fun to see, still. ben gibbard puts on a great show. they were definitely more fun than the new pornographers, who just didn't seem like they wanted to be there.

this. I will add that people who listen to this garbage should go ahead and kill themselves already.

alright "Dickshapedfoods" thank you for your very valid and unbiased statement.

Just kidding shut the fuck up you ignorant piece of shit. Go ahead and jam out to your 2Chainz you immature little fuckhead.

Saw Death Cab in Boston last summer and going to see TPS this summer too. Death Cab was probably one of the best shows I've been too (second only to taking back sunday, who was fucking amazing).

My friends and I always joke that the next Death Cab album is going to be awesome because Ben Gibbard got divorced and the best albums were from when he was drinking and not happily married. Shitty to say but I think it's true.

Either way, they are so awesome.

Yeah the album he put out after he got married sucked. I want the good old moody death cab. Kind of stoked he got divorced haha.

Personally i did not like that, and think its a mockery to the original, but hey, to each there own! Unless you're dickshaped foods, then you are a fucking idiot no matter what.

Starfucker is better.

Narrow stairs was awful, Codes and Keys only slightly better. Plans and Transatlanticism = amazing. They are quite good live though.

But Starfucker on the other hand is incredible. Every album is amazing. And with Miracle Mile they've just added to the pile of amazing tracks. Also very good live.

Miracle Mile is beautiul. Starfucker has THE funnest concerts. They come to town 2 times a year and iv seen them everytime the past 3 years. Reptilians is still my favorite by far, but again, its all incredible. Personally i dont think Death Cabs ever made a sub par album, but thats my opinion. Julius

And bury us alive=two greatest songs of all time

Bands like Starfucker are so annoying because I don't have enough room on my phone for all of their songs but I can't choose my favorites :p

if you were listening to these guys at 8 you must have had a terrible childhood. At 8 i think i wanted the og gameboy but couldnt get 100 to buy it, so i watched power rangers and played cops and robbers instead.

Definitely not "indie" bands seeing as death cab is on Atlantic records and Postal Service is on sub pop. Less than stellar boring alternative music may be a better way to describe them.

All indie entiles is that they remain relatively low

Budget and are not very mainstream. The assumption that indie means indipendent in the sense that they have no record label is a common misconception. When indie originated, it never meant that either.

death cab is awesome. cant get into postal service as much. code and keys was a pretty damn good album and i tend to listen to vampire weekend and death cab for a couple weeks straight until i cant bear listening to them anymore

I was into them more about ten years ago when transatlantacism was big and the plans album first came out. Was really into the postal service album back then too. Kind of forgot all about death cab until I heard on the radio they were playing the paramount theatre in Seattle with Majik Majik Orchestra. What a sick show. I was going to post some links on YouTube but peoples shaky cell phone cameras really don't do the acoustics of the paramount any justice.

Aaaah I love them both so much. Seen Death Cab 4x live, hopefully seeing the Postal Service in Portland this summer. Death Cab ending their shows with Transatlanticism is so incredible, gives me chills err time. I think What Sarah Said is my favorite song, depressing I know but my best friend has had over 15 abdominal surgeries and been in the ICU on death's door multiple times and she's the one I always see Death Cab with at Red Rocks so it really hits home.

i was never really that into postal service, but i saw them at red rocks last week and it was amazing, such a great show, now ive just listened to postal service for my rest of my life. and to that idiot who said "theyre for metro sexual/depressed men" who gives a fuck, if thats what listening to this music makes me, then so be it. i dont really care. fucking idiot.

The postal service swings through Portland in mid July, and death cab swings through late August. I'm 100% going to both and couldn't be more stoked! Jeaaaaa!
