I'm living in Austria right now and I want to send my pops something for his birthday, on the 14th. There's a really good beer that is made in my city and I want to send him a bottle. Would I be allowed to send from austria to the US that or would I have a problem with customs and all because its alcohol?

There should not be a problem. My friend went to France last september and sent me a bottle of wine from there and it got here safe, sound, and amazingly delicious.
