The Poor mans rail

Alright, so I don't feel like shelling out any money to make a rail or a box or whatever soooo I was trying to think of other things to use in there place. I was thinking maybe a kayak flipped over would make a decent box....kinda, I have a picnic table too. You guys have any other ideas?

is the kayak ever used as a kayak? if so id say dont use the kayak.

honestly, you can make a half-decent pvc/wood rail for probably $15-$20.

(2) 10 ft pvc pipes - 1 3/4- $3.50 a piece

(3) 12 ft 2x4's - $4 ? a piece

then you have a 10 ft shotgun pvc rail for cheap
