ok i need help for my summer work, if anyone has read the book, or even seen the movie, i would be a lot of help if you could give me like a half a page plot summary on the movie or book, doesnt matter which one. or even a place to find it on the internet. thanks

ohhh ive seen the movie.

ok, so there are a bunch of guys, (main character had some family member die in a tragic accident somehow) and they decide to go on a big fishing trip after the funeral... i think... anyways... they go out and everything is quite good, lots of fish, good weather, tons of fun. then disaster hits, weather stations call for "the perfect storm" that is brewing. then they get caught in the storm, the ship is destroyed, they get rescued, i think a couple people on the ship die, then thats it. over. i know its a pretty shady summary... but thats all i remember...

ok if thats the book, then go by his cause the movie is 100% different.

the movie:

a tuna(i think) fisherman and his crew go out after a streak of bad luck. the movie is follows them fishing, going through normal troubles and eventually hitting it big. on their way back, they are hit by what looks like a tsunami sized wave, and george cloony dies.

^no no, there are two hurricanes about to collide and turn into the "perfect" storm...well it happens, and they are faced with either dumping their huge catch out and surviving, or risking their lives with the freshly caught fish...they risk their lives, and get fucked up and the boat flips and they all drown

werd.
 
yeah clooney couldnt turned back but he doesnt and causes the whole crew to die

its the hurricanes off of georges bank... they all collide and the crew tries to go back because if they dont then they lose all th money for tha trip which is like wahtever 30,000 or something ridic.

after a streak of bad luck a fishing crew goes out. there on the east coast. and they hit the big catch and fill up the frezzers. then they get a weather report. and people are saying its the "perfect storm". they can either keep the fish and try to go through the storm to get back. or they can avoid the storm. in doint that they would lose all the fish. there was alot of money riding on this dicision. they try to make it throught the storm and they all die.

30,000 is nothing, my uncle made 200,000 in 3 weeks in alaska this year

they are all fucking with you dude. the second guy is almost completely right...and the book and movie are exactly the same except for some very minor details.

the fisherman does go out with his crew in the north atlantic region after struggling to even keep their boat, because they are not producing. while they are out, they are told that there is potential for an incredibly dangerous storm...the combination of a winter nor'easter coming out of the west and another very large storm from the south west. They are faced with the decision to go all the way around the path of danger, in which case they will lose all of the fish they caught, or go directly through the path and rough the waters. they chose the latter, and end up destroying the boat and dying in the process. the only thing I don't remember is if they ALL died...but I am pretty sure they did?

the movie and book are similar up to a certain point, it mainly follows the fisherman aboard the Andrea Gail, the book follows an Asian cargo ship, a small schooner, the Andrea Gail, and the rescue missions sent out to find/rescue them. it gets into a ton of detail on everything, where the movie doesnt at all, it just focuses on the storyline, not information.

the director made up everything past the point that the Andrea Gail lost its radio antenna, because from that point on, they were unable to transmit any messages to any other boats.
