The Perfect Ski

I'm looking to buy a new pair of skis and I need some help.

I really love ripping around on powder off piste and floating in the back country hitting natural drops and lines. I also really like hitting the kickers in the park. However I still like having a good carving session and getting impulse out of the ski on groomers and weaving through bump runs and tree lines.

Knowing all this information does any one have any suggestions. I'm open to the thought of large companies like line, armada, rossignol but also I would be super intressted in hearing about any smaller or inderpendant ski companys.

Thank you

the line blend sounds goood or the on3p jeronimo would be perfict if you want to help out a small company

Well you obviously want the (mythical?) one ski quiver.. I gave up on finding one, as have many people.. Most people who can rock a Park/Groomer Ski and a Pow ski at the least (lots of NSers with 3+ ski quivers).. But there seem to be a better range of options for you out there now.. I'm gonna guess pow is the most important for you since you mentioned it first, correct me if i'm wrong.. It would also help to know how tall/heavy you are to make a better reccomendation. These are some i'd look at, In order of fattest to thinnest:Surface One LifeK2 ObsethedK2 Kung FujasON3P JeronimoMoment Rocker

Blends would be a great choice, as would obsethed or kung fujas. The jeronimos look sick too.

Just look at skis with a waist of around 90-100 and they should fit the bill pretty well

Thank you for every one's help. For even better answers you guys seem to need to know how tall I am and my weight, abillity and that.

Im 5'11" (180.34cm) my weight is 9.5stone (60.33KG) (133lbs). I'm a decent skier. I can do entire black runs in switch. I can do switch 540s Pritty confidently I'm starting to get grabs in there now. I am hoping that soon enough i'll be working on underflip 540s. I'm also a confident carver as I have had roughly a month of race training and I know how to produce and control impulce. I'm not however very confident at all on rails. My goals for the up and coming season is to go bigger with my tricks and to improve my genaral piste and off piste technique.

A Lot of people have been talking about the one-ski-quiver is this like the term for the perfect all round ski that scores 10/10 for every part of skiing from Park - powder and from groomers - back country and pipes - urban jibing.

I like the whole surface range because i hadn't heard of them before alot of people have mentioned Line blends but if I'm honest the waist width of all lines scare me a little bit becaus they tend to be well wide. I think this is because my last pair of skis were K2 fujatives from 2 seasons ago that look like this

they are pritty skinny under foot so that's why i'm a little bit weary of giant skis like Eric Polard pro models and Sir Francis Bacons. I have had a look and what do people think of the masterminds

also has any one looked at the 4frnt skis.

Thank you still for your suggestions so far and I'm super exited to to hear what else you guys have to say cheers

the volkl bridge is easily the sexiest all mountain ski ever made.

i absolutely love mine, nice and stiff, they float ok, good pop, good edge hold, good maneuverability.

sex.

pure sex.

Not saying ON3P Jeronimo because its trendy, but at 96 underfoot with rocker, its a great ski that can kill it on deep days and still be manageable in trees and tight places when its less than optimal. Its not as crazy rockered as a pure powder ski (like the Hellbent or Ep Pro... or Caylor), so it wont be absolutely crazy to control carving on groomers.

Ye def not the EP Pros! SKis got a lot wider these days but they dont take long to get used to! The blends are probabbly still the best suited ski out there for you cos as the name implies its a blend of freestyle and freeride.
Also Armada's ARV is solid all mountain and still good in the park! But if you do want a smaller waisted more park orientated ski look at the AR6 by Armada but these will loose a bit of stability when in the pow!
