The people on the TGR forums

I agree. I was asking if anyone had some FKS brakes( i snapped one) and i totally got bitched out.
 
they have more overly self-righteous people perhaps, but i'd say their number of

complete dickheads is less than ours.
 
Yeah, I have to agree. There are a few guys on there who are SUPER helful. One guy sent me the brakes free of charge.
 
TGR forums are wonderful. Sure some of them flame newbs, but the last time I checked, it happens on here, too... all the time. The TGR forums are a lot of more mature with a lot more quality information without the bullshit threads. Those of you saying you would rather have the immaturity of NS with some of the garbage over a cleaner forum are probably 12, and are probably the ones posting the garbage. TGR is also a good place to buy and sell gear since most the people on their are a little older and don't need to ask mommy for her credit card.

And to whoever said he got flamed for having three pairs of park skis, you were probably thinking why whoever said that has three pairs of pow skis.
 
copying and pasting sales from ns onto tgr generally does not go over well.

claiming you have a "huckin" sale and listing a pair of "urban condition TMs" and a 174 public enemy also does not go over well.

you're asking to get laughed at for trying to sell a pair of urban condition TMs on tgr

tgr is a different type of forum. there is generally no interest in short park skis. you might have some luck selling those karhus over there but probably not for 500 bones.

 
Goes both ways... those guys are pretty close minded about park/urban. This forum is pretty close minded about big mountain/touring/etc...

Everyone needs to be a bit more open and see that both kinds of skiing have plenty to offer.

seriously, i'm not trying to be mean or anything, it's just that outside of real life and inside of forums, people are mean because they can be without any consequence.

and i'm not just talking about my endeavors... but countless others.

i agree wholeheartedly that tgr is a much more resourcful site as far as buying, selling, and asking legitimate advice. but you can get some of that here without all the 30 year old dudes who make 500 thousand bucks a year and think they know everything.

I like TGR because they people that do the flaming actually have some wit or are making a point, which is nice to see instead of the hundreds of millions of gay references people give over here. And yeah, it is an older crowd that generally doesn't ski park, get over it. I don't see skiing ungroomed runs on big skis as a character flaw, but maybe I'm just crazy. Just accept that it's a different site and a different crowd and you'll be fine. We don't want redundant ski websites, do we?
 
yeah dude i never said u were a pussy for having 175s. i was saying that the skis you listed for sale generally do not sell on the tgr forums. much like how a touring binding or a never summer snowboard would not sell on newschoolers.

thats sweet you got offers of 600 on the karhus, u should sell them before that person realizes thats what the brand new unmounted ski will retail for in 2 months. or on jibij right now.

and im not calling you out, im just pointing out some things that you should have taken into account before copying and pasting a newschoolers sale into a tgr forum.

and im not a 30 year old dude that makes 500,000 a year that thinks i know everything. but i did know you were gonna get a load of shit for that sale on tgr!

Teton Site is a far cry from this site. Age and maturity make it more enjoyable to read over there in TGR land.

TGR is us, grown up and a lot more into big mountain rather than park. Also with a much bigger ego. Still a fun place to visit.
 
i like both, but NS way more, just because it is more populated with stuff.

TGR has good people and good information, good discussions too. I almost never post, but i gander in there often.

 
they flame way harder over there IMO the guy was just trying to make a lil joke w the 6 figure salary thing and he gets ripped to shreds, i think newschoolers is a lil more forgiving than that
 
TGR is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT type of skiing crowd.

Both sites are good in their own ways.

it's a good place, but seriously, if you don't know exactly what you're talking about, they'll flame the shit out of you 50 times before helping you once

there are less immature idiots there, but a lot more people who are genuinely e-assholes

i made an account there, prior to knowing really anything about skis and such, and they just flamed the shit out of me and told me a bunch of the wrong information, i was not amused
 
i have no problems with the tgr forums, other than sometimes no response, which can be annoying. i prefer NS, but that's because it's a more in depth and better organized system...and because the washington regional owns. the only thing i hate about tgr is the search function, as it has no priorities like time posted or title set, and just gives you everything with what you said posted in it, it's hard to find the threads you want sometimes.

The main difference is between the responses to this thread and the responses to the TGR thread. Almost everyone in this post is taking shit super cereal. Shit over there cracks me up. Most of you fuckers just make me laff. There's a big difference.

but on TGR's site they are alot older and "mature" and make "6 figs" (though not one hair on my balls gives a fucking shit, thats chump change)

newschoolers = funny to read as well as informative

TGR = a lot of old people who are still such big loosers they are on internet forums chatting about skiing and complaining how the rival sight of "trash talking 12 year olds" is not as good as thier mature forums HAHAHAHAHAHA..... shits a joke

Generaly yes, but most of the ones Ive met have been good. Its just when your in big groups shouting. Alot that Ive seen in other countries have mostly been dicks. "Hay Honey look at this monopoly money!!" thats a good one.

Of course Im generalsing, some are sound. I once had a 3 hour boat ride up the Meakong with a bloke who would not shut up about how he was Scotish even though he had never been there!!
