I am taking the lead from a KT thread in the Blue Mtn Cult.

This is the thread to post a quick note on how things were during your last visit good and bad.

Conditions have been good all week. Good enough for nips to dial in his switch 7's and he is now backflipping off of everything. They blew a little bit of snow each night to keep things maintained and managed to open another new feature today. Major rebuilds are coming with the next cold snap.

i was there yesterday, really fun, maaad crowded in the pm.. i can back up whoever says bb's got the best park on the east coast..i was up in new hampshire all week, conditions up there were shit..went to bb yesterday, conditions are better here/just as good, park is WAY better than anything up there (a lot of mtns up there only have a few rails set up) so ya..i mean i only went to attitash, sunday river, and bretton woods, but still

so yea, boulders hangin in there for sure with this shitty weather

I grabbed these comments from the MC Cult posted yesterday 1-11-06

It was pretty sick. The freedom park was definatley my favorite. The other two were alright. The expert one was alittle OD seeing I'm not good enough/have the balls for any of that shit. The medium park was alright some cool things the battleship was pretty hot. But all the boxes in the freedom park were so smooth and you could actually hit 5 features in one run instead of sessioning the 40 foot flat box at creek for 3 hours. All in all its a good place wish it was a little bigger but they are definatley doing something right for the freestyle scene. They had tons of snow and a really good base.. better snow there then what me and republican enemy saw at stratton.

From looking at your edits I see some bare spots and what not. They have so much snow there. All the jumps and jumps to the rails were really smooth and groomed perfectly. Theres snow on the sides of the trails too.

they are fucking huge haha. my only complaint was the lights weren't bright enough. it was skiing at night with only the full moon for light. also i wish there was some fun trails besides the park ones, ya dig?

They actually were made smaller after the ECC. I think I talked them into putting a triple choice on the bottom jump. Look for other trails to get open weather permitting. They focused on the parks FIRST - there will be features and jibs on every trail though, just not right out in the middle for the weekend crowd..

BTW - If any of you want into the BB Cult let me know. There is some good info here that I would like mgmt to see like the light issue.. Yeah, my kid only hits the jumps during daylight.....

is boulder at all close to getting thier new pipe open? have they even been trying? its the middle of january and i am feigning for a pipe session (no puns intended)

CB will probably have thier little pipe open this weekend. BB will open some type of pipe but I believe it to be the last feature built. Look for next year for them to focus on pipes.

i often wonder why resorts wait to work on thier pipe last, it takes alot of snow i know but at least they could blow on it ealryist then not get it open so late. i will always travel for a good pipe over a good park and i know lots of people that way as well. it just seems like pipe now a days is the ugly red stepsister to parks and i hate it.

worf... you know that without natural snow pipes a huge money pit that have a low return on the investment. If it is any consolation CB and BB will have pipes this upcaoming weekend.

it was good times. the hips on widow were fun, but i thought they could use a little more kick to them. the lips were like a lip on a table should be, so it was hard to actually take the hip to the side and land down the landing if that makes any sense. other than that, my only gripes were that the handrail at the top of widow somehow got shorter (sawzall?) with a little too much kick to the lip, and the up box still isnt back out. we sessioned freedom park most of the night and pretty much slayed the wide box with every spin on, off or switchup you can think of. finally accomplished one of my goals for the season, all four 270s on.

OMG CLAIMER!!!!!! farill though it was a fun night. snow was good, parks were good and justin complains too much! :)

All 3 jumps on Big Boulder are at 50+ wait for the rebuild the landing have all flattened out. I saw some riders able to dial in landing smooth on straight airs but every one I saw was hitting rather hard.

Nipples still has speed issues even on straight airs. word is a channel gap and a triple option on the bottom jump.

Every thing else is sweet.

just wondering if there are speed issues on st. airs why dont they make the jump smaller. if you cant get the speed to clear it a 50 footer is kinda useless.

^^^ the big kids aren't having the speed issues that nips has. his new baggy steeze is acting like a parachute, when he drops his jacket he clears them.

This was stolen from pasr............... not my report!

havent heard much about BB's park lately so i figure i should give an update..

Freedom Park is still the same.. 1. Rail/box option 2. downrail/jump option 3. box/jump option 4. box/jump option 5. widebox/flatbox-drop-flatbox option

the jumps were a real good size for being the beginner park (15-20ft) and they rails/boxes are all good height and they all have a good size gap on for beginners.. as for the wide box at the bottom, it is somewhat slanted up and extremely sticky.. it seems that ever since they put it where it is now it is ALWAYS sticky.. my suggestion is make is a slight down slope instead of up..

Merry Widow Park same as well.. 1. downrail/downbox option 2. hip 3. hip. 4. 30 ft jump 5. 35ft jump 6. battleship box/A-frame option 7. wallride

the top box and handrail are smooth and were set up very well today.. my only suggestion is put the longer handrail back up, the one that is there now is really short.. the landings on the hips were icy but still not to bad.. the first jump was extremely nice, it had a good lip and it was nice to see the park crew take the time to fix the jump properly mid day.. the last jump was nice as well good lip with a nice long landing, the wallride at the bottom had no trany up to it at all.. it was just sitting flat ontop of the snow..

Boulder Park 1.Flat-Up-Flat/Flat rail option 2. Channel gap 3. Jump/handrail option 4. jump/upslope box option

i really hate that they have the DFD set up as a flat-up-flat.. and its pretty much ride on.. other then that the park was fine

NOW.. my big problem with today was the crowd.. i knew it was going to be crowded but something has to be done here with the parks.. there were so many times where i had to wait forever to hit the jumps (mainly in merry widow). I went through boulder park once but there were so many people just standing on every take-off/landing/jump.. you name it and ppl were standing on it.. over at merry widow i would wait untill i knew i had a clear shot at both of the jumps and i wouldnt have to worry about ppl on the landings.. So i hit the first jump fine then bomb it towards the second.. as im in the air just doing a 3 i look down to see some kid just sitting where im about to land so ofcourse i yell WTF then i land right before him and just completely spay him with snow and when i asked what he was doing.. his reponse was taking a break!! i could of broke his neck if i was going any faster, since i would of just landed right ontop of him..

Im glad i only have a weekday pass and i dont have to deal with the weekend crowds all the time, but honestly something needs to be done at BB.. maybe no this year since the season is coming to an end but definitly next season!
