funny stories of u or your friends getting pumped up and attempting a backflip like me and failing miserable. or frontflips/cartwheels whatever/

alright so im in a sailing program sailing 420's, ther was absolutely no wind today so we got tugged out to the lake and just binded the boats togetehr and swam around. so for some reason i was feeling particularrly excited. so i was like you know what im going to into the water in style. so i proceed to step onto the side of the boat with me back facing the water, my plan was to get enough outward motion in the flip to land in the water. so i do what everyone gives advice, to tuck in the flip, throw your shoulders back etc. so im in the air in the middle of the backflip, and apparently i get NO outwards momentum, wen i took off i was standing with my heels off the boat...i landed.. back on the side of the boat on my feet for a split second, feet slip out from under me and my face gets bashed agaisnt the side of the boat. then fall in the water...
 
ouch, your story is gnarly but anyways, i was taking a run threw the mini park at my mountain and theres a whole bunch of gapers so i was just like, well i will do a backflip off this lill jump, its like 2 feet to the landing and no lip and i come around and my tips dig in and i eject to my face and get the wind knocked out of me, it was gnarly.
 
Hahaha very good story.

I was trying them on the tramp and kept leaning back before i popped/jumped backward to much so I was getting my feet close to the net, so one time I tried to lay one out real hard, but this time I bounced way back and ended up going over the net and landing on the top of the net on my middle. I ripped half the net down but managed to land on the metal ring around the side of the tramp outside the net.

Didn't hurt or break anything which was good but I was a bit shaken up haha
 
well the first day i couldnt even get up my nerve... so i have this, the SWEETEST picture of me ever. camera phone

then another day i fell square on my back, and my knee hit my face and broke my nose... but i got back up and was stomping them all day after two more trys....

GET BACK UP AND JUST STOMP IT! i landed my first front flip that day too.
 
The first backflip I ever tried on skis was off of this stupid little jump in my backyard, I must have been about 10. The lip was about 2 feet high, with no landing whatsoever. I could hardly get enough speed to get air but my friend convinced me to do it anyway. I slung it soo hard that I clipped my head on the jump a tiny bit and my skis caught on the transition of the jump. I landed right on my face and my friend goes "You almost landed it!!" and runs up to try it himself. He did the exact same thing.
 
This story has been told on NS before but... my friend Eric decided he could get all sorts of ass if he could land a flat land backflip one day in gym so he was trying them for an hour or so... mostly managed to collapse on his face and/or back. Finally near the end he landed one, so when we got inside he was all pumped about it and decided to try one off a wall. He made a critical error in judgement, however... he wasn't very good yet, he'd only landed one, and instead of having dirt to land on... he had linoleum. He ran two steps up the wall, flipped around, and landed on both kneecaps - shattered one, cracked the other. He tried to walk it off, I don't think he feels pain. One time when he was drunk he tried a front flip off of a sketchy-ass trampoline on to the ground at night and broke his back somehow. I don't know how he's not paralyzed or dead.

so i get pretty pumped up cause the park crew starts playing wu tang and shit, drop in not knowing that the landing is in the shade and has iced over

apperently i got the huck but then halfway through the plif i just straightened out and went limp.

anyways i landed on my head and broke my binding

my first backflip attempt was when i was 14...we had built this sik jump in my friends backyard with a tractor...it had a good enough landing and i was like ok im gonna try a backflip...therr like really sik we'll put more of a lip on it...so they do this and im like fuck it im gona go for it...start bombin down the inrun and huck off it...i get upside down and just stop my rotation...go totally limpo and start going back the way i came....ended up landing on my neck but nothing happened besides a sore neck...im fuckin lucky though...well my mom found out what i did and she wasnt happy...now i just hucky fronties
 
First time i ever tried it on a trampoline, there were a few of us on it (my friend had a big ass tramp). So i finally get the nerve, start the rotation, completely lose it. I thought i was gonna land on my stomach, but this kid ended up under me and kneed me in the shin, it hurt so fucking bad. Like half my leg was blue. Then i tried it again and landed on my knees, but i still can't do them :(
 
a frontflip story, but a fail nonetheless... alright so me and my buddies are chillin at this bridge we jump off to pass the time in the summer, so one day i decided to spice things up a bit. i go to my one friend and say "hey ill try a flip if you do" so he says ok and i agree to go first. i stand on the bridge for a few minutes, which is like a 25ft railroad tressel btw, trying to get the balls to jump, with nothing but encouraging chants of "just do it, pussy" or "hurry the fuck up, im freezing my ass off out here". so i finally decide fuck it worst thing that happens is it stings a little

so i jump like im doing a frontflip off a diving board, which was a huge mistake. i overrotated by about 1/4 of a rotation and see the water coming directly at my face. i land smack on my stomach, knocking the wind out of me worse then ive ever had before, and you can hear me trying to recover in this nice little video
