The Official Pretzel Thread

alright so i've always though that pretzels could be anything from spin on spin off the opposite way / to come on switch and bs 270 out / or bs switchup switch out.

they're all pretzels right?...and yes i "searchbarred" this

to pretzel you must 270 on. And it could be considered pretzel to 270 on then switch directions switching up, like leftside 270 on to blindside switchup would be 270 on pretzel blindside.

but switch on opposite 270 out IS NOT pretzel.

anything 270 or more on and both off if that makes sense. some people think that coming on regular and doing a fs 270 off is a pretzel... but no, its just a fs 270 out

i know that but isn't it a pretzel when you do a fs switchup and fs 270 out, or when you bs switchup and bs 270 out i always thought those were pretzels

My snowboarding buds think pretzel is just the "hardway" 270 out. I have no idea who taught them that bs, maybe its like that for snowboarding?

Far as i'm concerned pretzel itself I consider 270 on, opposite way you can on 270 off. I use pretzel with other things just to distinguish the fact its the opposite way of the first one.. 270 on pretzel switchup, by that id mean if you 270'd on, you switch up the opposite way u spun on

^word. i kind of think of 270 on blinside 270 off as a full pretzel or pretzel 270 and specification is needed if your just pretzeling the switch up.

switch on to uphill 270 is called like: switch on blinside 270 pretzel.

think about this though.

down flat down. switch lip(tips over) to pretzel blinside switchup to downhill 270 out.

i think it counts if you're just doing like a bs change to bs 270 out. that's harder than a full 2 on 2 out pretzel anyways.

would it count if someone did a bacflip onto a really tall flat box and frontflip off. (it's been done but the one who did it wants to keep the footy secret.)

?????????????????????

i always thought it was spin on one way, spin off the other.

heres a question... can you pretzel on a wall ride? like spin up one way say like natural 180 up the wall, stall and then like unnatty 3 out down the wall? does that count?

You don't have to 270 on. Blind switch up to blind switch up is a pretzel. from switchup pretzel (front) 270 out.

i'm sayin that doesn't count, but any 2+ on or switchup followed by a 2+ or switch up the opposite way counts. i also feel that switch on uphill 2 out can be called switch on "pretzel 2" out

And you just saying "He did a pretzel" is too vague. Just use pretzel in from of what he did "He did switch on pretzel 2 out". If you say that someone will know that you spun out the opposite direction. It's not that hard/important kids.

2 on pretzel 2 out is fun, same w/ sw... who here has done backside sw/up, pretz backside sw/up, pretzel back 2 out? those are real gnar... ive only done it a couple time. back pretzel cubed.

I've always considered switch in blind switch up as pretzel . It's just a question of coming in right of left spin (90 or more if switch, 270 or more if straight)and spinning opposite on or off the box.

then would hitting a rail forwards and fs 27 out be a pretzel because really its the same idea as hitting a rail sw. and bs two seving out.

With the massive amount of description the is involved, I will stick to 270 on, with a 270 off in the opposite direction of the way you went on as the definition of pretzel.

Sw on spinning left, 270 out spinning right would be pretzle becuase to go sw on you actually have to spin sorta instead of just turning 90. ever notice how you can spin 270 out effortlessly after a sw on? and not so effortlessly going regular on?

It's pretty easy, any rotation of 180 or more to a rotation in the opposite direction. So switch on, inward 270 out is not a pretzel, close but no cigar. BS switch up to switch is though, smallest real pretzel.

o but where'd that rule come from?...idk i don't think there should be a rule it should just be like, pretzels are hard tricks were you spin both directions, so a regular fs 270 out is easy so that wouldn't count but something like sw on bs 270 should be a pretzel (or like a pretzel out) because it's a pretty hard trick

actually i'm not sure if that's making any sense but i hope u can understand it.
