The Official Pizza Thread

I thought the pizza in rome sucked personally. They need to take a trip to nyc to find out what it should taste like

I work at a pizza place called Guidos. We have really dank pizza. This one time I got a prank call from a hotel number of someone asking what a Guido was in an annoying voice. I calmly responded that it was a racial slur for Italian people and they didn't really know what to say.
But yeah I make pizzas all day, errrrry day. And I make a better pizza than all you nigs, especially if any of you work at Dominos. Although I did once work at a Dominos. They tell you specifically not to do certain quality control measures because they take too much time and then they just cover it up later.

The best pizza is the stuffed crust pizza at pizza hut. Then, dip the crust is creamy garlic dip from pizza pizza. There is nothing more satisfying.

homemade dough and sauce. mozza cheese, lots of pepperoni, bacon, onion, peppers, ham, and more mozza cheese. I work at a restaursnt that makes this dough and sauce, and i get to make custom pizzas, so awesome!!

get learned...

the farther you get away from ny the shitter the food is in general and also the speed of service is so slow outside of these areas

I've been to Italy, I've been to Chicago, I've been to San Fransisco, sadly, I've never been to NY to judge their pizza, but the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life was from Dewey's. That place is incredible, it's spicy, and the crust is just right, it's got a good amount of grease and the perfect amount of cheese, I love that place to death.

wasnt there like 1900 other threads about this? im not sure. maybe 6 or 7.

Mama Sophia's, Huntington Sta. L.I.

Italiano's, West Islip L.I.

my two all time favs

Can't go wrong with a NY style pan pizza with sausage, peppers and shrooms. another personal favorite is the buffalo chicken wing pizza with blue cheese as the sauce. invented by my co-worker at the pizza joint i work at. we call it "the Collins." one of our best sellers

A real legit NY style pizza with lots of pepperoni. I mean LOTS.

Or a savory classic Italian style one, with some nice Euro meats.

how bout just a real, legit, NY pizza?

you are all deprived. you get your great powder skiing

But i have the best pizza in the world here in NY

same haha. good thing i got work tomorrow ;)

cant go wrong with diced tomatos, bacon, and garlic. Also a peperoni and onion will do the trick.

ive been growing on to the ham, pinapple, and bacon as well.

god fucking damn it where has this thread been all of my life.

top 3 pizzas:

buffalo chicken

pepperoni, banana peppers, italian sasuge, onion, ham

white pizza with shaved steak

holy shit this thread makes me so hungry and i just got out of work at a pizza place. god forbid if there is an official calzone thread.

pineapple and spinach pizza is the shit.

almost like the, but you gotta put the spinach on before the "cheese" so it doesn't dry out as much.

Otto pizza in portland maine is by far the best. their brick ovens make the pizza have thin but chewy crust its so good. they make a killer pulled pork and mango pizza. it has no tomato sauce, just a couple different cheeses, some spicy pulled pork and the mangos add some sweet. best pizza ive ever had.

Anyone coming up to the Rocky Mountains who doesn't stop at Beau Jo's pizza in Idaho Springs is a goddamn idiot

So an NY style pizza is really an Italian style pizza, or just pizza? I'm from sweden, and even though we have some strange topping combos we still have that thin crispy crust of a real pizza. Didn't like the thick, doughy pizza I've had on your side of the pond.

Might sound cliché but the best pizza I've ever had was in Italy, you know you are eating a good pizza when you don't need any other toppings than tomato sauce, real buffalo mozzarella and some basil. If you need anything else, it would be a few slices of prosciutto crudo di parma.

Random google picture of a good looking margherita.

Without sounding like a douche, some of you might wonder why the cheese isn't all over. It's because real mozzarella often come in small balls, that you tare parts from since you can't use a grater since the cheese would only fall apart. The mozzarella used at pizza places is usually not real and/or fresh mozzarella.

If you go to like say, Rome, it is hard to find a good pizza since most of the places focus on tourists that think that it is a good pizza just because they are in italy. In fact, I don't think there is anywhere else with that many bad restaurants as Rome has. Not saying that they don't have a lot of good ones as well. The best pizza is said to be found in Napoli, but I haven't been there yet. Mostly because it is a shady area with a lot of corruption and involvement from the Camorra (mafia). But the best pizza I've had was in a little town in the region Umbria. The town has like 4 restaurants, and one of them had this amazing pizza.

Haha, didn't mean to wright a book but I got so fired up. Pizza truly can be the best dish in the world, and hopefully this post made someone psyched to find that perfect pizza. I think that it is so fascinating with dishes that doesn't need that many ingredients, as long as it is fresh ones and good ones. It's like finding the perfect burger. When the meat is so good and juicy you don't need anything else than the patty, buns and a slice of cheese.

Well shit, I might have to book myself a ticket to Italy right now..

Your post made me so hungry. And good ingredients really do make a huge difference, for example the best burger i've ever had was just a simple cheeseburger with lettuce, pickle, and sauce. So much better than any cajun bacon onion ring burger or whatever
