The official how are your skis mounted thread

when i say 2 back from true center i mean 2 cm back from true center, 2 inches back would be a lil too far back i think

if you go to search and type in 'the official"and search under forums, there are hundred of these stupid threads. lol. there taking over NS

i have 176 t-halls 2cm bakc from true center, I told the guy at the shop to mount them TRUE CENTER, but i guess he didn't listen

155 elan Mo2- +1 of true centre

158 Rossi Scratch Pro- -2 of true centre

176 Armada T-Halls- True centre

4frnt msp true center

true center is the way to go, no disadvantages, lots of advantages, and i dont wanna hear about pow and shit because it doesnt hinder you in pow to have true center

I disagree with you. I feel a huge difference skiing my all mountain skis and my park skis let alone powder skis. My pollards (park) are true center and my AR5s are 2 back from true and would prefer them maybe one more back which I believe is core center.

Yeah, and fucking guys is only gay if you're the one taking it...

True center mounting + pow = not so much fun. Unless you're talking 5-10 cm of fresh, light soft pow on top of a hard base with a tiny bit of crust on top of it, on what would otherwise be considered an easy blue run. Then, and only then, is true center in pow good. Unless the ski is specifically designed for it and has its sidecut and dimensions adjusted accordingly.

Straightlining your shovelled off inrun to a booter in the "backcountry" isn't actually the same as skiing powder, believe it or not.

176 ar5s, urban skis, center mounted.

180 thalls, park skis, 1cm behind center.

178 jpvsjl, powder/all mnt skis, at suggested.

I'm with you...not a fan of centre-mounting at all. I don't ski a heap of park and I like to get a high level of both on and off-piste performance from my skis. I feel that centre-mounting significantly hinders this performance. I centre-mounted on my old MSP's and I would never do it again...they just never felt right underfoot.
