The Official 2012/2013 Outerwear Thread

don't usually post in these threads anymore but too stoked on the new armada stuff.

xl henrik jacket with xxl tradition pants for pow days

xl cascade softshell with large ordinary STR parts for other days

still don't get what your point is, you don't really have a way with words. haha

is there a problem with having skinny and baggy? maybe if I were actually paying full price for that stuff but it was all practically free for me lol

nope I'm not a man of great words lol

There's no problem if you don't wear them to "special occasions":

-you go snowboarding with all your "yeah dude we skate" guys who wear skinny stuff so you wear skinny because of them

-you go skiing with yo "thug" guys who all wear baggy so you want to fit in as well

that's just a thing I don't like, not staying true to yourself (not representing and showing who you actually are but hiding in the peer group)

however if you just have both because you like both and somedays feel baggy, somedays feel skinny it's a total different thing...

long term short: I don't like chameleons trying to be cool with everyone.

[ rather be hated for what you are than loved for something you're not (Kurt Cobain) ]

It's his skiing outerwear... I mean, I agree with what you're saying in a more general sense, but I think you gotta take a step back and not worry about what jacket or pants he is choosing to wear.

Anyways, here are my kits:

All this is is a bunch of rich kids that got their mom and dad to buy all this shit for them. Yeah Saga makes good quality cool lookin shit but not when your parents bought all of it and you only wear for one season before they buy you new shit. Buy your own stuff, figure out the worth of a fuckin dollar and you'll see why some of us have the same jacket and pants for 5 seasons.

You're making a huge generalization about people in this thread. Sure some do but not as many as you think.

And in response to the height of pants, Steve, Kutcher, Cheddar, Nicky and a fair amount of our team wears their pants sagged a lot and skis very well.

Nobody worries about getting snow in their pants? Shits not practical and looks fucking stupid. Pull your pants up and put on some clothes that actually fit. Im all for jackets that hang past your ass but this shit down to your knees and shins is getting ridiculous.

And since when do people care how long the zipper on something is. Small, medium, large, x-large and xx-large. Do people really need to measure to make sure its gonna hang to their knees or do they have to have their mom grab one end while they grab the other to stretch it out.

Ha what a fucking joke, its not skiing its a fashion show and this 42 page thread proves it.

I stand by my statement that this thread and the gangster tweens who post in it are completely stupid. This thread is a perfect example of how consumeristic skiing has become. People are more focused on looking cool on the hill than actually skiing. Skiing should be focused on skiing. Dressing up in front of the mirror does not show any stoke on skiing to me. Saga is one of the main brands promoting this attitude within in the sport and it is pushing skiing in a directions that only supports massive amount of money (mainly from parents) being spent on possessions that are hardly necessary for the enjoyment of the sport. Saga tries to act superior to big brands because they are more "core" when in reality they are pushing the same message and ideology as every other company.

Your interest should be in skiing not the clothes you wear doing it. Should care more about skis and getting better and having fun not the newest 4xl tall hoodie that just came out.

Before you go saying we have fun skiing because we can wear what we want, go join the wringing brothers fashion show. you'll fit in better there than on a fucking mountain

You think that I am not stoked on actually skiing? I'm sorry, but you're fucking lost man. Sorry for wearing what I wanna wear. I'll never do it again.

People care because like our brand and others the sizing is completely original and not like any other item you own from any other company. our large could be as long as another brands medium. It's not like buying a generic t shirt. People want to know how the gear will actually fit. It's the same reason they have dressing rooms and mirrors in clothing stores.

What the fuck happened to having one jacket, one pair of pants? This is a joke. No-one in Europe is like this thread, you're all ridiculously spending money on extra stuff you DON'T NEED. I get having a ski or board quiver with bindings on all with like 3 different skis, but different clothes like 5 jackets and 7 pants, why???????!!

It's about doing what you want. It's not for everyone thats for sure. But look at all the people who are obsessed with shoes. Some people have closets full of different shoes that all serve the same purpose. All just so they can have the look they want on any given day. To some its function over form, others form over function. Different strokes for different folks.

Yo should stop caring so much about what other people do and focus on your skiing then. Seriously, what did you expect in this thread. And while some of them may be excessive, what's wrong with showing the stoke over the gear you will be using this year?

This thread is just an outerwear companies wet dream. Endless amounts of 13-16 year olds spending daddies money on new outerwear every year. Realize a lot of you are young but this thread represents a lot of whats wrong with freeskiing

Like I stated on the previous page. Everyone has their own outlook on life and the activities they do. Especially in a sport like skiing or snowboarding no one person can say someone else is doing it wrong so long as that person is enjoying themselves. So for you having new gear options every year might seem like blasphemy. But to another that gets them hyped. It's their decision to live that way and there is no all mighty ruler of skiing or snowboarding to pass down judgment. Coming into this thread just to post negative comments does absolutely nothing to benefit the sport or this site.

haha nah i already bought most of it with my OWN money, i work at a ski shop i get deals. some kids dont need there daddys money.

Well spoken and I understand your point of view as a company, your simply promoting your gear which is exactly what a company should be doing. And you're right I was probably a bit too negative. I was the exact same as all these kids two or three years ago, it's just now I realize how pointless it is to obsess and worry and spend excessively on outerwear beyond one set up

felt offensive? I just wanted to point out that's a lot of money for 1 seasons kit haha! even if you work in a ski shop it's still not just a small sum lol

Is that the Armada Scout in the second picture? If so what size, and how tall are you? Wanna get one of them for this season as my jacket is wrecked!

Thats not even the route of it though. What we're trying to promote is do whatever you want to do and don't let anyone else tell you how to live your life. Yes it directly relates to buying our products in this particular instance. But the main goal is to continue pushing people to be individuals and creative.

I'm 5'9 with pretty broad shoulders, and that is XXL. It's not the scout though, it's the Harlaut requiem from last season. I'm guessing the fit would be really similar, but the scout might be a little roomier due to the absence of insulation.
