No it is. And its extremely obvious. Whenever their driving out side there are mountain in the background and there are no mountains near the real scranton. Also in the man vs wild episode where micheal goes camping in the woods there is no way thoes woods are in penn.

Stoked by the way.

Yep, straight from Wikipedia

All filming is done in the Greater Los Angeles area, but the show makes many references to actual places and businesses in and near Scranton, such as the Mall at Steamtown, Lake Wallenpaupack, Abe's Deli, and the Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour. Dwight's "Froggy 101" bumper sticker is from local country station WGGY. "We went toward embracing the whole Scranton-ness of the setting," said Daniels.[46]

[edit]Filming locations

The show's first season had a run of just six episodes, and was filmed on location in an actual office.[42] For the second season, since NBC ordered a full run of episodes, filming moved to a sound stage at Valley Center Studios in Van Nuys, built to replicate the first season's environment,[42] including plaques and certificates hanging on walls using the names of crew members.[49] So although technically a "studio" production, the show maintained its "on location" feel by recreating that first season set at Valley Center Studios.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashida_Jones

"In September 2006, Jones played the role of Karen Filippelli in The Office when it began its third season. By the beginning of the fourth season of the show she was no longer a member of the main cast, although she reprised the role in one episode in season four and is scheduled to appear in the fifth season."

KAREN'S COMING BACK?!?!?!

ive never worked in an office, is it actually kind of like that?

in the new season i want more pranks on Dwight

i love The Office, but in case any of you are Heroes fans too and you didn't know this, Heroes is back on tomorrow night.

do you think that when pam moves to nyc, karen will get in between her and jim? i cant see them ending the pam and jim connection so soon, but god i need them to get married and live happily ever after no homo but seriously

i think the dwight/andy/angela thing is gonna be way more funny than jim/pam

those of you who saw the last episode know what im talking about

The office isnt shot in scranton. It is shot in LA, but some stuff is actually shot in Scranton. Scranton has the 2nd largest st. pattys day parade in the U.S. and at the next one they will have the whole cast and shoot an episode. But to whoever said there are no mountains surronding scranton thats not entirely true. Scranton is surronded by 2000 ft hills, for the area they are kinda big, but they do surrond the city.

You can def tell the mountains in the episodes are shot in LA, though. theres a huge difference between the mountains in PA and the ones in southern cal.

wow, i'm surprised nobody has chimed in with "i only watch the british version, way better."

i dislike those people. the american cast is so classic.

To be honest, when I first saw the US version, I was one of those people. BUT, as the US version has developed and made its own style, I totally love it. Both the UK and US versions are genius in their own ways.

Is there anywhere to watch online/DL it? I used to watch it on peekvid and the other streaming tv show sites, but i think most of them have been shut down now. In the UK, I have only seen up to the end of series 3.

That it is. This fall's TV is actually really good. Entourage, Heroes, Weeds, The Office... and a bunch more. lol.

Nice icon too. Bill's fan I take it?
