The Off Season Sucks

summer does suck and it's even worse when your not in school anymore. most jobs don't give summer off.
 
I love summer..No homework or school (unless you are in summer school), nice weather, boating, cliff jumping, skiing in beartooths(this year since im in Montana), and just all around no worry good times to be had.
 
How can you NOT like summer, seriously. So many good times with my friends have been in the summer. I had so much time on my hands, i juggled working out, working at staples and having great times with friends. Honestly if your a teenager and you hate summer something is definitely wrong with you. Go outside and have FUN!

and on the side note, i love winter too. There are a million reasons why but skiing alone is reason enough for me.
 
I lived in Ohio and I loved summer..Working was gay but the weather isn't always so shitty as long as your hanging with cool people and know how to make the best of a shitty day...better than shitting in a hot ass classroom learning about stuff you've seen a hundred times.
 
i hate summer but its a good way not to get sick of skiing cause i think u always have to take a break from skiing, but when i get ski fever i do summer set ups :)
 
I love summer, I get to work, golf, be outside, swim, the only downside is no skiing, but I ski enough in the winter to hold me over.
 
heres a challenge for y'all: go in your room, put on your boots, click in your skis and imagine you are skiing. See if you can do this without going insane or bursting out in tears
 
summer is healthy. do a few winters in a row and you'll begin to long for things like wearing just shorts and a tee, outdoor drinking/bbq/beach volleyball/drinking. im in no way sick of skiing since it's very different in CO and NZ, but I do miss things like camping and hot springs long days and other good summer shit.
 
Summer is fun for about the first month an a half...then I get the ski bug and its all I think about.
 
Dude i live in frigin alaska and there is still no snow it pisses me off i hate the summer i crave snow my job is cool i guess i mean 40 hours a week at 10 dolars an hour at 15 is pretty good but fuck i dont want to work i want to frigin ski but the worst season of all is the fall because i have school and there isnt any snow
 
Think about it, the reason all of us love skiing so much, is because it is a relativley rare thing for us to do. almost any other sport can somehow be played all year long (for free)..if we could ski all year round we would not have the same amount of passion for it, despite what you all think, i bet this site would not be here, and i we would all get sick a very quick of it.
 
i hate to be the kid to do this..but really, funner? i mean, come on man.
and its summer for a variety of reasons, more people can afford to spend a day at the beach then ski for the year, the roads arent icey as fuck in the summer, and in the summer you dont need to worry about getting caught while on the road in the next big storm.
thats not to say im against it though
 
The only good thing about summer is working your balls off. Yeah, it sucks, but the more you work, the sicker of a setup you can get, and the more you have to finance big trips
its like summer is my hard days work, and winter is my night out at the clubs, blowing all the money I made that day
 
the summer is awesome in a totally different way though- yess it's when you can make all the big money working straight but hopefully not blow it all on spur-of-the-moment roadtrips.

butt this summer, well here in vancouver, especially the one super kill me now hot week just made me dream of christmas and sitting in a pile of deep powder looking down and just being happy. when it's too hot it's just too dang hot. --the smart people migrate to south america and go skiing in july/august. that would have been the logical thing to do.. hmm , but too bad most of us had to work and make money! :P hehe but seriously, no complaints, take inn that extra vitamin D that the albedo can't make-up for when ur wearing ur snowsuit hehe. ..i think we crave winter so much more cuz we get a break from it long enough to miss it so badly :) i kind of love that feeling.
 
summer is awesome when im out partying or wakeboarding or pretty much anything. but everytime im near a computer it sucks, cause i always get on ns, which reminds me of how much i miss skiing. i think the year should be divided 50/50, half summer half winter.
 
you all that hate on summer need to find a sport for the off season i suggest buying a motorcycle. For me ill ride untill it snows then ski till it melts and then get the bike out again in the spring it makes a perfect sport cycle and honestly it keeps me sane.

but in all reality, there is just as much (if not more) to love about the summer than there is about winter. For me, when all the snow melts off the singletrack here in CO, its game time. Get the bike out and tune her up, and then go crank around and explore for a few months? shit is great. and summer beers out on the front porch as the sun is going down? gotta love that shit. I could go on and on...

BUT I FUCKING WANT WINTER. SO BAAAAD
 
word i love summer, i mean i miss skiing and all but im not gonna complain about 2 and a half months of sunshine and no worries
 
Not if you come down here to Chile. It's dumping as i type this. POW DAY tomorrow.  Sorry i know that's harsh.

 
Honestly, im starting to think that half of the population in this thread that are under 18 (teenagers) hate summer because they simple have nothing to do. Go make some friends and play outside. there is more to life in skiing (surprise surprise). Or go get a job
 
i think i'm just gonna try and become a ski instructor and learn spanish so i can try and get a job at a resort in argentina for the summer. that would be so sick. getting paid to ski year round, even though you have to put up with noobs . . . i don't think it would be so bad.
