The NS'ers @ MSU

just when you pick it up. all i had to do was show the guy a printout of my schedule, but he didn't even look at it for long enough to know it was more than a bit of blue text on a piece of paper.

exactly, so you could totally hop on that screaming deal now and then pick up the pass next year for super cheap. You wouldnt be able to use it for april skiing of this year since you wouldn't have an MSU id or schedule yet, but you'd be fine for picking it up next year

Do it!!!

It is like the same price as a Bridger pass right now. And you get to ski the entire month of April at Big Sky also...So you will get like 2 more weeks of skiing since Bridger closes 2 weeks before Big Sky this year.

Come down to the filler tonight! Kitchen dwellers havin a lil hoe down we got our first real show!
Seriously though come check out some good ol jammy bluegrass

I have a feeling with the new college pass were gonna see a lot of kids move over. Its only like 40 bucks more now for big sky than bridger, for a lot more terrain.

compared to bridger sure, but i think people in bozo forget how good they have it. 45 mins or so to big sky is not shabby at alllll

and please no one try and turn this into a bridger vs big sky thing. bridger is awesome too, i just personally prefer big sky.

I think people have such strong alliences to Bridger or big sky already that the pass price won't drive too many people over

gahhh k so i have the option to go to MSU this fall OR Westminster in Utah.i live in MT already so in-state makes it cheaper, its closer to my hometown, i heard the academics are good, and the skiing is legit (probably will ride bigsky). BUT utah has better park skiing which i like, GREAT academics, more people, and the SLC has more things to do... Its such a hard decision. any input?

Don't come to Montana to ski park...but if that is involved in your decision Big Sky has a decent park every year but Moonlight usually kills it on the park scene. But Bozeman can be pretty boring if you are under 21. Also it depends if you like a small town vibe that Bozeman has or like the city feel of SLC.

We don't have mormons. Plus you're female, and the guy/girl ratio will work out well in your favor. I know I always bring that up, but damn, its a beautiful thing.

So if you guys didn't skip school today, you really should have. Dakota, Shedhorn, Triple, and the tram were all closed yesterday, and today was not too busy. Lets just say there was pow pow on and around my face till closing.

Damnit. I was out there on Tuesday and got some fresh tracks on Challenger, but would have killed for first tracks down Dictator's. Oh well... I'm sure there'll be some left tomorrow.

Try for the BIG tomorrow. Everything facing south (wave wall, sheddy, liberty, dakota, A-Z) is pretty heavy. The sun did some damage. But the big, and the headwaters are still prime. And everything in the thicker trees.

Unfortunately haven't skied the big before... How does the top half of the big compare in steepness to the wave wall? The few A-Z's I've hit were surprisingly mellow compared to what I was expecting, so that's (the wave wall) probably the steepest I've skied.

The Big is only challenging because it is high risk. The skiing itself is not very hard. As far as steepness goes, its steeper than the Wave wall, and most of the A-Z chutes, but not by much. But you also have to have Avy gear and a partner, and if you are not on first tram, you might not get a time slot.

The Wave wall will probably be decent, but I heard the gullies were a little scoured, and the A-Z chutes stayed almost untracked all day (the uppers anyway) so they are probably still good too. But since its Big Sky, the snow might have all blown to Moonlight, or you might get a fresh 2 feet.

Have fun!

Thanks for the help man. Hopefully I can step up to it sometime before the end of the season. But what can I say... I'm just a transplanted Minnesotan freestlyle coach haha. I've got the avy gear and knew about the partner system but wasn't aware of the time slots. Looks like the A-Z's might be the way to go for tomorrow.
