pretty much.... not that ive lived in Zion that long, but based on my short time here thus far, if Americans took an understanding look at mormonism they would realize theres good mormons and bad mormons. just like good Catholics and bad Catholics. its really NBD
 
because liberals are not socialists. then again the american public isn't smart enough to realize that. So when they hear liberal plans they cry "SOCIALISM", and when they hear socialism they think "COMMUNISM".
 
nope. i just feel that no one with any common sense would be a mormon. granted thier religion does cause them to have solid moral values and they are generally good people. however, their religion is cray. i would encourage you to read the book of mormon, then you will understand.
 
Not to mention his religion should play no role in his policy making. The man has never shown himself to be particularly attached to his Mormon faith and forcing it on America, who cares what he personally believes in?
 
To clarify, I'm not saying you should vote for him. There are plenty of other reasons not to, or to vote for him. But him being Mormon isn't one. In either direction.

if you agree with all of his stances or however much it takes to get your vote. where he goes to church/whatever/nothing on sunday shouldnt be an issue.

It doesn't matter much. Democrats are a little better in that they are trying to stop shale drilling oil companies from destroying pennsylvania and New york's water supplies with toxic chemicals. But both parties should be wearing nascar jerseys with all of their sponsors on them. By sponsors I mean the companies currently making our policies.

Also the way we fix our economy is by only giving tax breaks to companies that employ at least 80% domestic workers and by fining companies who use child labor millions of dollars per instance that they were caught.

That will not happen until there is more transparency in our government and corporate lobbying is outlawed.

If you call me a fucking hippy then you're either 12 or enjoy drinking carcinogens. I can't imagine why anybody would like being slowly killed with benzene though.
 
The only time faith should be an issue is at the point where it becomes a part of their stance. When Romney gets up there and starts saying "I demand that everyone have 8 wives" then you can get pissed haha.
 
I'm with woozy.

Herman Cain doesn't have a very good grip on the tangible relationships of economics. He has shown no clear understanding of bubbles, or the impacts of global trade on the economy (many circumstances are shown in the quotes from woozy). I would be willing to bet he couldn't explain anything about global imbalances or introduce a way to re-instate capital flow into actual industries again rather than financial cesspools. Being a business man in a country with an insatiable appetite for terrible food and taking advantage of that should not qualify you as a presidential candidate. It means he has some admirable traits, but let's keep it at that. The business conglomerate perspective is not at all what we need.

Also I would be terrified to have him in position of foreign policy. I have never once seen anything about the understanding of history or an understanding of why we are in the position we are globally. All I have ever seen from his debates are the same regurgitated talking points that I see from other politicians...left and right. Domestic issues, some lame tax cut policy that is no different than the failed ones before, more domestic issues that have little significance but get so much media attention so we can ignore the real facts of a sinking economy.

 
I like your point about history, so I'm going to emphasize it. "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". Yet we repeat the same shit over and over again. If you looked back into history, you would see how many of the current policies are ridiculous to be even proposed. So I am left with only two logical conclusions about our politicians: they either know and are exploiting that knowledge for their own malicious aims, or they are ignorant. I think there is both.

what does it matter. regardless of what happens the general public will hate the president and accuse him of doing nothing just because each person hasn't been handed 13 billion dollars in cash to spend on lottery tickets, alcohol, and 3D tv's
 
Last electioin cycle conservatives were pushing a constitutional ammendment to ban gay marriage. They use other things having to do with sex like trying to defund planned parenthood and ban abortions, using their religion as a political platform etc. Maybe you are just hearing it from the liberal side lately because of the legalizing gay marriage in a few states stuff, but both sides definitely do it.
 
I wasn't trying to be offensive. Me personally, I don't really give a hell if you are gay, straight, bi whatever. I just think this decision should be left up to the states. You can enter whatever kind of "what if" scenario you like to the equation and find a way to justify a national law. In my opinion, laws regarding marriage should be left up to the states. That is all I am saying.

I believe that all American's need to be tolerant of others. I do not think that forced acceptance will work or is the right way to go about it.

To be honest, I don't understand why gays need to get married in the first place. But I don't really care all that much.
 
are you serious? your completely belittling the importance of this issue. There should be one federal law that states that every person has the same right to marriage. The fact that even today we still discriminate based on sexual orientation is sickening. I am not gay, but i have the presence of mind to recognize that we should all be treated as equal by the United States government.
 
so that they have the same rights and percs that come with the legal union that is marriage? tax breaks, hospital visitation rights, a way easier time adopting a child etc. if it weren't a big deal the lgbt community wouldn't be fighting for it so hard.

Correction, as long as said people pay union dues as a condition for employment they're fine. Or if they don't pay any taxes and/or collect food stamps.

Everyone else needs to put more time in, in the form of taxes (and usually receiving almost nothing in return), for the government.

 
Being for taxation, unions, and welfare is a liberal standpoint yes. Anything can sound terrible if you use the right words. I know my position, I'm sticking to it. Good day sir.

Funny that you can have people talking about whats going to happen. Both "sides" with their panels of "experts" laughing at them or pretty much calling them idiots. Then what they were talking about does happen, and the people are so fucking stupid they don't even notice.

Somebody warns about something, people don't believe them, the event happens, people forget about being warned and wonder how it could have happened. Brilliant.

america cant afford to be taxed more, we need to cut federal spending, cut paychecks and bonuses for congress and obomber.

no more stimulus, that ran us in to so much debt it is unreal.

i am not a big fan of any of the gop as of yet, but i think romney has the best chance as of right now.
 
contrary to your misfounded belief, most of our deficit was due to bush policies.

I am by no means a fan of obomber, but GOP ignorance (along with democrat ignorance but not nearly as bad) is fucked.
