The Next Fad

It's coming, I'm pretty sure of it.

Right now theres kind of a gansta style fad going around (theres a difference I think between baggy style and gansta style)

I think the next one, partially influenced by Salomon this upcoming year is going to be 80's or retro.

It might not be the best, but I think the big brands will follow in Salomon's tracks. Could be the next big thing.

Discuss.

i rocked a dope retro helly hansen jacket this year. it was my dads when he was younger.

im ahead of the gamee!

80's are coming back fer sure ... just listen to the music (synth heavy electro) or the street wear (neon t shirts and oldschool glasses a la Jon)

I think the 80s and gangsta thing might mix together it might look hella ugly but whatever lol.. cause the ghetto baggy stuff is actually pretty dope but like an example would be for 80s comin back already is, scott made a retro like green and orange pole that hella people bought so you never know

ski apparel is not a fad. people dress the way they like. in the park we see most of the kids wearing baggy shit, but take that same kid and put him in the back country... youll find his pants well above his waist, no one likes a snowy ass.

uhh no? the only thing i can see getting bigger is brokens, but people arent gonna start flopping themselves on rails, grinding on their legs ( like that thing charles does in skimatic) or any of that shit, there are a couple people that do rollerblade grinds, and ill admit that its good cause it adds diversity, but skiing is more about style than alot of other sports, probably cause its harder to have good style with skiing, and its so easy for it to look ugly, and really, it doesnt get any uglier than rollerblade grinds. skiing is skiing rollerblading is rollerblading, we can maybe have some influence from other sports like snowboarding (presses and butters) and rollerblading(brokens, crossed skis, one footers, but its never gonna take over our individual style.

i agree that rail progression is extremely boring, i also think that we need to take a TINY bit of rollerblade type tricks and transfer them to skiing, but no more than we should take from snowboarding or anything else.
ive watched footage of andy parry, some of the stuff he does is sweet, but other stuff is just too much, its no style ballet on skis. its when people start grinding on their boots and crossing their ski's and stuff when it gets to be too much, thats just trying way too hard to completely copy rollerblading. but i also think we need people trying this new wierd shit, because every now and then, one of the tricks happens to work out. like out of ever 50 dumb looking ballet style tricks, one of them will happen to actually work on skis and be steezy.
people like andy parry are the ones thinking of every possible thing to do, and people like ahmet and delorme are the ones picking out the ones that work and making them steezy as hell, like their surface switchups, nose butters on, steezy 1 footers(which are hard as hell to make steezy), brokens, etc.....
