The New Yorker: A Blog About New York City and its Freestyle Communit

I have decided to start a blog on my beloved city, New York. When many people hear New York City, they think Wall Street, Madison Avenue, the Statue of Liberty, 9/11, etc., but many people fail to see that NYC does have a small, but growing freeskiing community.

This blog is going to be more based on my own life, but there will also be stuff on NYC's freestyle community. Please comment, give constructive criticism, request a certain topic about NYC, etc. on this thread and/or on the blog itself. Here is the link to the blog: https://newschoolers.com/web/content/readblog/member_id/106844/

You can also PM me or e-mail me at usermj9111@newschoolers.com / mailto:usermj9111@newschoolers.com

I hope you enjoy it!

that's cool. did you go to the poorboyz premier in ny?

sounded crackin

i'm in seattle and i can't wait for triple threat.

Thanks for the reply. To be able to have good skiing or even ski at all and live in New York City, you have to either travel upstate to okay ski resorts or go during vacations.

Yes, I did go to the Poorboyz premier in NYC and it was a lot of fun. Many people were surprised that Poorboyz would even go to NYC and that it would be such a fun party. My blog is really meant to break through the idea that NYC is not the home to freeskiers. Also, if anyone from NYC reads this, please PM me.

I might do a post in the blog about urban rails and stuff like that. Even though NYC does not get a lot of snow, when it does, it is usually enough to hit some nice urban stuff. Thanks for the suggestion.

I remember that Urban part of steele spence from NYC, I think it was in one of MSP´s movies, probably Hitlist or was it Level 1, shanghai 6 ??? It was sick though!

I think the segment you're thinking of is in Focused, with Steele and Jon McMurray. They were skiing in the Bronx if I remember right.

And yo, your blog sounds pretty cool, I'll def. check up on it through the year.

yea steele hit that rail near my fam's old house in the BX,

i live in brooklyn now and it hasnt hit me yet how hard its gonna be to get in nearly as many days as i did last year when i lived in jersey and owned a car

ill check out ur blog after work but totally lookin for some skiers/boarders to take trips up north with

JEA NYC!!!!

I live in Brooklyn. To ski i travel up to Sugarbush / Mad River Glen every weekend (We were gonna live there but that would mean I would rarely see my dad)

It's a long fuckin drive, but to ski its worth it. (I can also get all my homework / sleep during the drive)
